He then leads us to the shed where there was a large machine covered by a tarp. A farmhand with blond hair, a straw hat, a checkered shirt, and overalls was there waiting for us(picture him as Neil Patrick Harris). "Jonas", Grandpa said to the farmhand,"time to show my grandkids our little science project." Are you sure, Mr Abe, it hasn't really been tested yet" Jonas said and our faces paled. "Well, you know the saying: no time like the present, and in our case, the past and future as well." He joked as Jonas chuckled and Macy and I were confused. "Trevor, Macy, allow me to introduce what I've been working on: My time machine."

As Jonas uncovered it to reveal a large silver device with a door on it, leaving Macy and me astounded. "What, no delorean or at least a police box or phone booth?" I joked. That got a chuckle out of Grandpa and Jonas as Grandpa motioned all of us inside. Inside there was a driver's seat with a setting for year, month, day, and hour, plus a lever and"go" button, and some seats in the back. "Is this truly a time machine, Grandpa?" I asked. "Well, let's find out for ourselves", Grandpa said as he nodded for Jonas to turn it on.

We buckled up as the machine came to life, all the hairs on my body standing on end, as we disappeared into what appeared to be a blue tunnel that was endless on both ends. "What is this place, guys?" I asked, amazed. "This is what your grandpa and I like to call the Temporal Highway", Jonas explained. "It's basically the road we use to go to different points in time", Grandpa finished. "So where, or should I say, when do you want to go first?"

They asked. "How about three weeks in the future, when I'll be home," Macy said. "No can do, sweetie, it would be against the time rules", Grandpa said apologetically. "Time rules?", I asked. "They're actually quite simple, to name a few are no interacting with your past/future self unless absolutely necessary, don't try and go forward in time to avoid an event since there would be two of you existing at the same time, and no changing important events in history", Grandpa further explained.

"What do you mean, Grandpa?" I asked.

"Well, time is actually very fragile, kids" ,Grandpa said as he opened his bag that he brought with him to take out some Jenga blocks and arranged them into a tower. "Say this tower represents the timeline and each of the blocks is a specific event in time", Grandpa said as he gently pushes one of the blocks, "you see if you make a small change, everything will probably be fine, but make a big change", he removes a block from the tower, collapsing it, "the whole timeline will be at risk".

Macy and I were speechless.

"Another thing is don't introduce things before they were chronologically invented, you don't want to be the reason Elvis gets the idea of the moonwalk" Jonas said. "Micheal Jackson had the moonwalk," I said. "Exactly". He explained, "So, as we were saying, when do you want to head first?".

Hey guys, Ace is back! Sorry for the wait. But here is the next chapter. Who can guess which three movies/shows were referenced in this chapter. Also, we met Jonas, Grandpa's farmhand. He'll be a major character for the story. Please feel free to leave a comment, it makes me feel known. See you soon!
