I don't own the Persona Series or Genshin Impact just the plot.
The Savior
He only appeared two times in this world.
Once during the war of the gods to obtain a divine seat. Second during the fall of a kingdom of man by heavens wrath.
No one knows where he came from only that he appeared one day amidst the chaos of the Archon War.
The moment he entered the battlefield the fighting came to screeching halt. All that were there that day watched as he made his way towards the center of the battlefield.
Some were cautious about him; others saw another contender for a throne and were ready to strike at a moment's notice.
As he walked towards the center the gods to notice of his appearance. His figure looked human, but his outfit made them think otherwise. With a row of chained white coffins hanging from his left arm, a giant cross on his back, ash blonde hair, and a mask the gods assume he too was a god as well.
When he reached the center, the figure observes his surroundings taking of every god present along with their followers.
Once he was finish, he spoke.
"I am not here to fight instead I ask that you give me your hungry, your weak, your old, your young, and your tired for I will keep them safe in this war of gods." He said.
At first the gods did not believe him thinking he was another contender for a divine seat trying to take away their followers. So the more violent gods attacks while the more cautionary ones stayed to observe this mysterious figure.
But surprising to them all was that when the gods attacked the figure repelled them all.
The onlookers were surprised thinking that the man would perish from the combine forces
Even a powerful god like Osial could do nothing to hurt this man as the results were the same.
After many fruitless attempts the attacking gods gave up their attacks as some thought that their energy would be better use against their rivals and enemies, so they returned to their spots.
Seeing the attacking gods retreat the man spoke again.
"You think of me a contender for a throne, you are wrong." He said. "I do not seek to rule like you only to protect those that want no part in the chaos."
The gods were skeptical because why would a being like him do this? If he was this powerful why not fight for a divine seat like them? Why would a god like him give up this opportunity just to protect the weak?
When they ask these questions
"I am not a god only a man."
To say the gods were shocked would be an understatement because how could a human wield this much power to repel even the most violent of gods with little to no effort.
Seeing their expressions, the man announced.
"If you do not believe me then past me, past my power and you will see my true nature." He said and that's exactly what they did.
They looked past his power and saw that behind it all they sense a man.
A man not a god.
This only brought further confusion to them.
"You all have questions but the only I'll give is that I will not participate in the current conflict I will remain neutral for the duration of the war." He said.
"But for those of you that want no part in this war follow my light and it will lead you to a sanctuary, there you will be safe from the conflict."
Suddenly the figure transformed into a light that rose into the air and flew off towards the sea until it landed on the horizon in a massive flash.
At the end of the horizon the gods saw an island that didn't exist before an island that became the sanctuary the man promised.
During the war the man held true to his word not once did he make a move against any faction during the war. Instead, he welcomes those that were weak, scared, or defeated whether they may be human or a god he denied none of them for they were all welcome.
This includes the weakest of gods like the God of Salt Havria and her followers who gave up before the war even started for they too sought safety in his domain.
Still this brought some conflict with various gods and cults that came as they were force to live together for the duration of the war. But these problems were quickly snuffed out when the man came.
Every dispute that occurred the man quickly dissolved not with might but with words and compassion. For some reason whenever he spoke every felt compelled to listen and when he spoke everyone felt their aggression for each other fade away. They couldn't explain it but just by being in his presence did they feel no anger or fear instead they felt drawn to him a like a beacon that bathe them in the warmth of his light. They didn't know but they felt as though they wanted to be better people when he was around.
As time pass those in his sanctuary came to trust and respect him. The gods were willing to trust his judgment where it came to certain matters as he came to understand their hopes and dream and the reason why they fought the war in the first place. They came to see him as a leader worthy of them as well as the people seeing him as man worthy of being followed.
Soon word about this man spread during the war, of his actions and the type of man he is. Eventually the more mindful and benevolent gods heard of this needed a place to rest and heal for them and their followers, they were welcome to his sanctuary as long as they did not break the peace.
This gave the gods a chance to see his sanctuary and converse with him and the denizens. When they spoke to him, they felt as though they did not need to put on a face as they felt they could talk to him normally as equals. The longer they talked the more they were able to know more about this man and his views of the world. This led many gods to become his friends even those that are destined to win the war became his friends.
Whenever they had time to visit him, just seeing him became a welcoming sight for them. His very presence washed away the toll the war was having on them.
But not all found his presence welcoming. The violent gods still saw him as a contender for a divine seat and would occasionally attack his sanctuary but like before their attacks ended in failure.
The violent gods' views towards the man were nothing compared to the one that found his presence more unwelcoming the divine Celestia.
The Celestia did not care about the Gods that participated in the war but when the man arrived it saw him not as a beacon of light like so many others instead it found him to be an anomaly, a flaw in the world that must be erased to maintain order in the world.
So the Celestia sent the Sustainer of the Heavenly Principle to erase this anomaly.
When the Sustainer arrived all on the island felt her power the mortals felt the crushing weight of her power while the gods had their fears skyrocket as they knew that this being was sent by the Celestia.
The man went to confront her and met her on the beach of the island.
While the man stood on the beach the Sustainer remained in the sky and announce his crime with interfering with the world's order.
Hearing that the man replied.
"I have committed no crime to warrant this. I merely offer a safe haven from the war."
"Your very existence is warrant enough and by my power you shall be erased." The Sustainer told him and with that she attacked.
Seeing the attack the islanders braced themselves for an ensuring battle and some even prepared to flee.
But the attack never came like with the gods before the man raised the barrier protecting the island from the Sustainer. This did not stop the Sustainer as she unleashed a barrage of attacks on the island but every attack she sent was met with resistance of the barrier.
After hours of endlessly attacking the Sustainer cease her fruitless effort and the moment, she did the man launched himself towards the Sustainer hitting the god square in the jaw. Thus, commencing the start of their battle.
To the say the battle was fierce was saying too much as it was a one-side massacre with the man pushing the Sustainer back with every blow. She tried to resist his assault with her own but whatever she did the man either dodge, block, or destroyed her attacks. She was completely powerless against him.
It was only after an hour since their fight began did the man end it when he struck the Sustainer hard enough to send her crashing into the sea where a huge crater was formed from the impact.
Broken and battered the Sustainer could do nothing as the man landed in front of her. She watched as he slowly approaches her summoning a sword in his hand as if he was preparing to deal the finishing blow.
When he stopped in front of her, he pointed his sword at her down form.
"Yield." Was all he said and the defeated Sustainer could do nothing but accept her defeat and with that she returned to the Celestia in disgrace.
With the battle over the man returned to his island and when he landed, he saw the varying expressions on everyone's faces. To the people they looked at him in awe at he just did, as for the gods they were in shocked as they just witness someone going up against the Heavenly Principle and won.
This made them further ask the question.
Was he really a man or a god? The answer to this question did not matter for they witness something they considered impossible.
Witnessing his victory some gods chose to abandon the war to follow him wanting to know how he gained such power to defy the Heavenly Principle while others chose to keep their distance as this man has proven to more than a match for any of them.
When the war ended, and the victors claimed their divine seat and were deemed Archons the man ended his sanctuary.
"I have offered you the gift of a haven from the war now I offer you the gift of a home. This island is yours to have do what you like with it." With those words the man left.
The island denizens cried out for the man to stay but the moment he set foot off the island he disappeared never to be seen again.
With his departure some of the gods took their followers and returned to what was left of their territories while the rest having already lost too much in the war decided to stay.
In time those that remained on the island did as the man offered and turned the island into a home.
It was tuff at first with various cults and gods working and living together especially now that the man was no longer there to end their disputes but eventually, they manage to work things out by establishing a council of the gods. With this council they manage to rule the island fairly and integrate themselves with the world ruled by the Archons.
Once peace found its way to the world many went out looking for the man wanting him to return but after years of a fruitless search, they gave up and moved on with their lives.
As time pass many started to speculate the man existence. Was he really a man or a god in human? The latter seems the most favored theory as no mortal man could possess such power.
But others held on to the former as their only proof were the gods that lived in his sanctuary as they have confirmed it.
Eventually like all things stories about this man faded into myth and legend leaving his very existence up for debate by the next generation as everyone who knew the man pass on from this life to the next.
The ones that did remember were the gods and those with eternal life but despite their longevity they could only keep the man alive in their memoires on who he was to them and everyone else.
For centuries after the Archon War has the world known peace under the rule of the Archons, the nations under their rule have known safety and prosperity.
Until the day came when the great cataclysm happen.
Khaenri'ah
The nation under no Archon, the kingdom built entirely by man was destroyed when one's arrogance in the pursuit of knowledge brought down the heaven's wrath.
This was a catastrophe that the Archons could not ignore as they were all drawn to the conflict. When they arrived, they were met with death and destruction of the nation and its people and a great sense of helplessness as they could hardly do nothing against the might of the Heavenly Principle.
But amidst the chaos HE appeared again.
Like before he walk calmly towards the center of the chaos and when he did he unleashed a light that shot straight towards the heavens as if he was challenging the Celestia.
When the light ended the chaos was gone the carnage over but it was too late the damage cause by the Heavenly Principle was done and the kingdom of Man was no more just fragments of it remained and the people that were at the center of it cursed forever by their own machinations. Although the damage to the kingdom cannot be undone at least the damage was minimized and some of the nation's people were spared from the curse thanks to the man.
Those that were present at the time try to reach out to the man but just as the disaster ended, he too disappeared from the world once again leaving the world to deal with the impact left behind.
It took the Archons a while, but they came to realize that the man only appeared where great catastrophe would happen and the Archon War and Khaenri'ah were two such catastrophes.
Was this his purpose? To appear only in times of crisis to save those in need?
They would never know but what they do know that the world is destine for another catastrophe and when it happens he will appear again.
Until then the people of Teyvat will wait for him.
For the one they call Shepard
The one they call Protector
The one they call Father
The one they call…Messiah.
