The Beginnings
Team seven had just returned to the village hidden in leaves from their first C rank turned A ranked mission to Wave country.
"Sakura and Sasuke, you two can both go home, and you Naruto will come with me to give the report to Hokage-sama." Stated the perverted leader of team seven Kakashi Hatake.
"Why do I have to go to see the old man?" The overly energetic blonde asked as Sasuke walked off with Sakura chasing after him asking for a date.
"Because I need you to tell the Hokage about the incident on the bridge with the you know what."
"Fine but you have to treat me to ramen afterwards, Kakashi-sensei."
"We'll see about that Naruto." the silvered haired Jonin said exasperatedly.
Hokage Tower
The old man sitting behind the creaky wooden desk was one of the most well known ninja in the world as he was the third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi. He looked up from the paperwork he was signing as he heard a knock at the door.
"Enter." The old man stated with a raised voice.
The door let out a small creek as it opened revealing Kakashi and Naruto behind it.
"Ahh Naruto Kakashi I see your back from the mission to Wave country. I assume the mission was a success then." The old man said with a smile looking at the child he saw as his grandson
"Yes Hokage-sama" Kakashi replied with a smooth voice, "I brought Naruto to tell the report as there was an incident whilst on the mission."
The Hokage grew a serious look as he waved his hand signaling the Anbu hidden in the office to leave them.
"What was the incident Kakashi." the once friendly looking old man said with a harsh tone.
Naruto looked surprised by the look on his jiji's face as he had never seen him with such a serious look.
Kakashi started, "I will begin from the start after we left the village…"
After Kakashi was done Hiruzen was looking at Naruto with both pride and worry in his eyes as the boy looked confused.
"What's wrong gramps?" The boy said as he began to think that he would get in trouble for using the kyuubi's chakra.
"It's nothing Naruto you're not in trouble but I know the council is going to make a stink about this." The third said with a saddened look on his face in place of his previous expression, the old man continued," Naruto you may go home now and rest you will have a week off of ninja duty."
The young boy gave the sandaime a reassuring look, making the Hokage smile at the young boy as he turned his attention back to his most trustworthy ninja.
"The council can't do anything other than try to punish Naruto right Hokage-sama?" Questioned the copy nin.
"No, they have been waiting for the kyuubi to try and affect him so that they can banish him or worse execute him."
"They can't really do that can them Hokage-sama?"
"They can before I took the role of Hokage back up after the kyuubi attack they passed a law making it so any ninja they felt was a threat to the village could be banished or killed."
"Well why didn't you try to change the law?'
"I tried but the council needs to have a majority vote to change laws made by the council. And you already know how the council is with Naruto.'' The Hokage stated with a defeated look on his wrinkled face.
"Well, what can we do to stop the council?"
"The only thing we can do now is try to prevent the council from finding out."
As the third Hokage and Kakashi were discussing their plan of action a small device placed in the top right corner of the small office was recording the entire conversation and giving the information to a man with a lion mask looking at a screen in a dark room.
Deep Under Konoha
The masked man who was watching the meeting between the Hokage and Kakashi ran into a room the same size as the Hokage office with a bandaged old man sitting in a soft chair in front of a desk.
"What is it lion?" The bandaged man asked with an even and cold tone.
"Lord Danzo I was watching the cameras when Kakashi Hatake and Naruto Uzumaki entered the Hokage's office to report the mission they went on. During the report Hatake said that the demon boy had used the kyuubi's chakra. The Hokage is trying to keep it a secret from the council."
The newly named Danzo gained an intrigued look after hearing the root Anbu's report," Get Homura and Koharu now."
The Anbu saluted," yes lord Danzo."
Naruto's Apartment
Naruto walked up the cold steps to his rundown apartment thinking about his mission to wave and what his jiji meant by the council making a stink about his mission. He shoved those thoughts to the back of his head as he grabbed his key and put it into the lock on his door and slowly started to open the door that was more like a moldy slab of wood than an actual door.
He walked into his apartment, and he couldn't help but flinch at the horrendous smell that blasted his nose due to the mold that grew because of the broken water pipes in the other apartments. He walked to his kitchen to get a cup of instant ramen, he got water to put into the cup of noodle and waited as he thought about why it was so bad for him to use the kyuubi's chakra. If he hadn't used the beast's chakra, he, Sasuke and Sakura all would have been killed by Haku.
As he was thinking about his mission, he began to get angry as he started to think about how his teammates always treated him on missions and during their team training.
Flashback
On the bridge during the wave mission Naruto was sat up in a tree as he surveyed the area, but it was difficult as there was a large layer of mist covering the bridge, but Naruto was able to see the silhouettes of Kakashi and Zabuza fight and could see Sakura guardian Tazuna thanks to the enhanced sight granted to him by the kyuubi.
He looked over the bridge until he saw a dome of mirrors with what looked like Sasuke in the middle, Naruto saw a barrage of needles fly towards Sasuke as the Uchiha used a kunai to deflect a few of the sebon but wasn't able to as he was hit by the sharp needles. At that moment Naruto decided to go and help Sasuke as he jumped down outside of the dome and saw a feminine looking boy fly through the mirrors and kept on throwing pointy ice needles at the young Uchiha.
In the dome Sasuke felt the pain of the sharp objects penetrating his skin when he felt a familiar presence appear outside the dome. He looked over to where he felt the presence to see the silhouette of his blonde haired teammate thanks to his newly awakened sharingan. The hunter nin took the advantage Sasuke gave him to launch another wave of his special ice senbon at the boy but before the senbon could hit Sasuke, he replaced himself with Naruto. Sasuke now outside the dome heard a grunt from inside as Naruto fell to his knee as many of the senbon hit him in his left arm and in the pressure points on his right leg.
"What the hell?" Naruto grunted out as he slowly felt the feeling in his leg and arm return thanks to his enhanced healing factor.
Naruto didn't have time to properly process what happened as senbon launched at him from all directions. The blonde felt a jolt of pain go through his entire body as he fell face first into the hard rock of the bride making the senbon on his front side digging further into his flesh. The boy passed out because of the amount of senbon that hit him from his legs all the way up to his neck.
The ice mirrors began to melt as the masked ninja walked out of the smoke with a furious aura around him.
"Wasn't he your teammate?" the hunter asked.
"He's not his more than a meat shield for me, an Uchiha" said the arrogant young boy as his opponent got even angrier at the cocky boy.
If he's your teammate how come, you used him to protect yourself! Last I heard the Leaf village supports teamwork and comradery, not sacrificing your teammates for your ego!" The slightly older boy shouted as he formed more senbon to throw at the pompous boy.
Inside Naruto's Mindscape
Naruto woke up as he felt cold water surrounding him and heard the dripping of water smacking the wet floor and he stood up and looked around.
"COME HERE" a loud voice was heard as it reverberated against the echoey hallway Narut found himself in.
"Who is that!?" the boy fried out as he continued, "Where am I!?"
"COME HERE" the voice echoed again as Naruto decided to start walking towards the booming voice.
Naruto continued down the hallway as he found himself at an interaction on one side was the same voice that was calling him when entered the sewers and there were two softer voices calling him, one was a feminine voice and the other was a soft masculine voice. Naruto wasn't sure where to go but something in him was telling him to go down the hallway with the deep booming voice.
Naruto made up his mind to follow the stronger voice, he continued his journey through the murky hallway as he saw a dim red light at the end of the tunnel. He picked up the pace from normal walking to speed walking as he gained on the light. He made it to the end to be temporarily blinded from something extremely bright. As Naruto regained his vision, he saw the outline of nine giant tails waving at him from behind a cage as a giant mouth let out a chuckle that bounced off the walls.
"THE WARDEN FINALLY CAME TO VISIT HIS PRISONER DID HE NOW" the volume of the voice made Naruto wince as his sensitive ears picked up the thundering voice of the creature.
"Who are you?" Naruto asked as his voice trembled slightly at the malevolent presence in front of him.
"WHY YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T TELL?" The thunderous voice asked in a mocking tone," I AM THE KYUUBI NO YOKO. STRONGEST OF ALL NINE DEMONS."
Naruto's eyes widened as he looked over the beast again
"You're the Kyuubi?" Naruto asked.
The orange demon fox slowly opened its eyes revealing two giant red orbs with long black slits down the middle.
"OF COURSE, I AM WHO ELSE WOULD I BE"
Naruto slowly regained his confidence as he looked the fox in the eyes
"What do you want, fox?"
Kyuubi laughed as he answered the blonde's question, "I WANT TO HELP YOU"
Naruto looked taken aback. Why would the kyuubi want to help me? The boy asked himself.
The fox laughed at Naruto," I AM ONLY HELPING YOU BECAUSE IF YOU DIE THEN I DIE AND I DON'T WANT TO WAIT NINE YEARS TO REFORM."
Naruto was about to ask more questions but was interrupted by the large demon in front of him.
"NOW LEAVE"
The Bridge
Sasuke was breathing heavily as his eyes began to droop as he was consumed from exhaustion and pain. As he was closing his eyes, he felt something coming from Naruto's direction but couldn't see it as he finally passed out.
The hunter nin looked at Naruto who was now ten feet away from where Sasuke and the missing nin were fighting with a red aura emitting from around him that was evaporating the mist around him.
"How are you alive? I hit you in the jugular with one of my senbon you should be dead right now." The boy with long hair asked, trying not to show his surprise at Naruto being alive.
Naruto didn't answer the question as he began running at his enemy.
With Sakura and Tazuna
Sakura and Tazuna were trembling in fear from the amount of chakra being released.
"What…is… that?" The old man asked.
"I… don't… know?" the young girls answered as sweat began to roll down her face.
With Kakashi and Zabuza
Kakashi's eyes widened as he felt that familiar chakra and at the same time Zabuza laughed as he already figured out what kind of chakra that was.
"So, one of your little brats is a jinchuriki"
Kakashi didn't answer Zabuza as he focused on preparing to end the fight quickly so that he could subdue Naruto.
With Naruto and Haku
Haku tried to dodge a punch that was aimed for his face but wasn't fast enough and got smacked in the face making his mask crack in half causing it to fall to the ground. Naruto didn't see the face that was staring at him as he continued his barrage on the young teen. Naruto punched Haku in the stomach making Haku lurch over allowing Naruto to hit him with a sin kick to his head making him hit his face on the hard rock they were fighting on. Haku got up as fast as he could, showing the now demonized Naruto his face covered in small scrapes with a busted lip and a broken nose. Naruto smiled at the damage he had caused to the older boy's face as he began to run to him preparing to kick the boy in the side but was stopped when he felt a sharp pain in his stomach, the Haku in front of him crumpled into a pile of ice revealing it to be an ice clone. Naruto looked down to see a large blade of ice stabbing him through the stomach. Naruto then looked behind him to see Haku still with his face injured and panting for breath thinking he had won the fight. Naruto got a small grin across his face as he pulled himself off the spike of ice and grabbed a kunai from his pouch and shoved it into the other boy's chest, taking blood spray all over Naruto's arm and face.
Haku started to stutter out words," how did you live?"
Naruto didn't answer as he felt a small sting from where he had a hole in his stomach as smoke began to rise from it. He looked down to see the hole completely healed leaving behind a small scar. Naruto's chakra cloak started to diminish as he finally registered everything that had just happened. He looked at the elder boy's face to see that it was the same boy who had found him in the woods. Naruto let his eyes roam over the boy until he found the kunai he had shoved into his chest and the blood that was all over his clothes.
Naruto looked back at Haku as he slumped to his knees and fell to his stomach. Naruto's face paled as he realized what he had done, he killed somebody.
Naruto didn't even look up from Haku's dead body when he heard what sounded like one thousand birds then a squirt of blood.
