"So, what do you think?" Tahani asked.
"It's something," Eleanor said. The two women sat in Tahani's office, where Tahani planned neighborhoods. With them was Eleanor's partner, Chidi. Talani had finished explaining to them her most ambitious trial to become a better person idea yet.
"I'm trying to wrap my head around this," Chidi said. "Your idea for this girl's trial is for there to be a fake contest. She'll think she's competing to come back to life for most of her test and will think she's getting judged by a fun fair fortune-telling machine that told her to get on the roller coaster that killed her."
"I think this is my best idea yet," Tahani said. "Certainly my most creative idea."
"How will she even become a better person here?" Chidi asked.
"She'll learn to put others first," Tahani explained. "In the end, if everything goes as planned, she will choose to send back the unidentified victim of the disaster. I can't test her on philosophy. She's studied a good number of philosophers. She wouldn't learn anything."
"Her real choir mates will be facing their tests," Tahani continued. "They'll have more traditional tests. The old Bad Place actors will be happy to bring their old horror looks for the machine and the unidentified victim. I won't need many actors. I thought the test could be in a warehouse. What do you two think?"
"I like it," Eleanor said. "I think it will work. We've certainly done more extreme things in the past. For our trial, Michael had to create a new timeline. I think you should go forward with it."
"Your thoughts?" Tahani asked Chidi.
"Sure," Chidi said.
"Okay," Tahani stated. "I'll order it!"
She pulled out the file. The name, Ocean O'Connell Rosenberg, was written in small red letters in the far right corner.
