They decided to head straight to the Great Plateau to learn of what was in store for them. They were at the bottom of the Plateau with no clear way up now, main entrance point having been destroyed a century ago. Link had been checking the perimeter for any alternative pathways up. Zelda was sitting by a tree, watching the sun set in the distance. In her youth, she rarely admired the beauty of nature, she was too confined to enjoy the simple things of life, for she was constantly stressed about the bigger aspects which her life was focused on. She could see Link's figure in the distance, it had taken him about half an hour to walk around the area, she figured he ran for some of it. She stood up and closed the distance between them. "Anything new?" She inquired gently, to which he shook his head. "Then how will we get up?" She glanced up at the large Plateau, climbing such a steep slope wouldn't be possible for her to achieve. "I've no idea, we may have to see if we can find some sort of ladder." His suggestion was unreasonable, finding such a large ladder would prove impossible also. "We should probably camp for the night, we can figure out something in the morning." She suggested, she was tired of moving currently, ever since this morning they had been on the move.

They set up a small camp under the tree which she sat on. Link cut out small chunks of the tree, using the planks to fuel the flame, allowing it to warm them up. He was cooking some meat which he had purchased on their way, Zelda was glad to be eating a decent meal. She looked up at the sky, wishing to gaze upon the moon. "Oh goddesses.." She whispered, Link looked up, wondering why she had said such words. "Look.." She stated grimly, watching him as he turned his head, facing skywards. Another blood moon. "It's barely even been a week now." She ran her hand through her hair, trying to figure out why it had occurred again and why it had happened so soon. "Something's wrong.." She muttered quietly before looking at Link, he seemed to be thinking. It appeared that he was going to speak before she heard a noise from the device beside her.

She tentatively reached down and picked up the Sheikah Slate, turning it on. The map appeared and a singular icon stood out. "Come here." She stated quickly, hearing his footsteps come over before he hunkered down next to her. "That's odd." He stated, to which she agreed. "Well at least we now have a way up." She blinked and looked at him. "How do you mean?" He tapped the screen and a message popped up, it read the words 'Travel' and 'Cancel'. She looked up at him again with confusion. "What does that mean?" She glanced between him and the device. "It means we can use this to teleport up." She frowned. "Teleport? You mean how I transported you safely from the Divine Beasts and to Hyrule Field whilst I was trapped within my seal?" She focused on him now. "Somewhat like that." She felt his fingers brush against hers as he held onto the Sheikah Slate. "Try pressing the button." He whispered gently. Her eyes slowly moved down to the screen, and she gazed at the button for a moment before reaching out and tapping the screen. Immediately, her body felt cold and numb. She yelped, but no sound escaped her mouth. The area around her was turning blue, and she wondered what the source of the light was. She soon realised that her and Link were the sources as they both disappeared in symbols of blue.

They reappeared in a small cavern, Zelda didn't recognise it, she'd never been here before. Feeling returned to her limbs as she fully reappeared. "That was odd.." She leaned against Link, for her balance had become non-existent briefly. She soon regained her footing before she looked around. "Is this the Shrine of Resurrection?" She inquired, looking at all the walls around them, it was clearly a Sheikah built structure. "It is." He explained softly, he seemed a little.. strange in this area. "It must be weird returning here after you have all your memories." She examined his face carefully, trying to depict his emotions, she could see discomfort in his eyes. "It's not very pleasant, now that I know how I felt before experiencing waking up." She nodded softly and took hold of his hand, squeezing it lovingly, trying to soothe him. "Follow me." He explained quietly. She followed him into the chamber where she witnessed the pod which must have held him in stasis for so many years. He took the Sheikah Slate from her before placing it in the pedestal which she had instructed him to take it from a year ago. "I only ever saw this chamber as a blurry mess, seeing only certain details clearly. I could see you, the Slate and these pedestals, but I couldn't process any more than that." She looked around the room before a soft tremor shook the ground, and the ground beneath them began to lower. "Link, what's happening?" Her pitch was a little higher, for she was a little unnerved by the sudden movement. "It's okay, the chamber is just descending." He seemed to have done this before, she felt his hand take hers and squeeze it like she had done, it helped calm her a little.

The elevator soon came to a stop, but Link kept a hold of Zelda's hand, fearing that Guardians may be defending the area. Fortunately, not a single one was in site. The tomb of Maz Koshia sat at the back of the large room. "Wow.." Zelda breathed out gently, he was aware that her curiosity must be through the roof at the moment. "I know, who would've thought that this place laid beneath the ground?" He chuckled lightly as he watched her face light up with fascination. "I suppose we'd better see what he has to say." He suggested, she nodded absently before they began walking forward into the large cavern. They made it to the tomb, where Link approached the box and carefully tapped on the symbol which was etched into the fluid like substance. There was a soft humming before the walls shattered and the Monk was exposed.

"You have done well in coming this far, as you know, there is information which I must share with you both. I must applaud you for your ability to seal away Calamity Ganon, and rid the land of evil, but there is still an evil which remains, which I shall tell you about. But first, I must tell you of the past. I, along with the rest of the Monks, derive from the time of Hylia. Our technological advances were incredible, but the surface soon became too dangerous as hostile beings appeared. We constructed a structure called the Gate of Time and escaped to the distant future. We arrived 10,000 years ago, and continued using our intellect to construct what is known as 'Sheikah Technology'. We learned about the past of Hyrule, what had occurred whilst we bypassed it all. One figure stood out through time, one which our lives would become intertwined with, Ganondorf Dragmire." Link gasped at that name, before looking at Zelda, whose face seemed a little paled. "We destroyed the gate after rumours spread of its existence, I wished to use it to witness previous events, however I could not due to its destruction. After hearing of the events of the past, and learning about Calamity Ganon, I tasked myself with creating technology which would aid in defeating the Calamity as soon as it returned."

"We created the Divine Beasts along with the Guardians, creating them was no issue, but fueling them was. We designed a system which would convert everyday objects into fuel, this design remains in the Master Cycle to this day. This power source was very costly, and after the machines were used to help the Hero and Princess defeat Ganon, we seeked an alternate source of fuel. It was during out right with Ganon that we discovered malice. We contained some of it and examined it. We used these samples and managed to purify it. We tested its power on the Sheikah Slate, and found that it had the ability to power anything perpetually. We became greedy and sought out more of the substance. We speculated where we could harvest more, we noted that Ganon sprung from the ground, we hoped that we could find it under the ground. We began excavating, before finding a cave. Inside of it, was a corpse which seemed to be mummified. Malice spewed out of its chest, so we hoped so harvest it. We constructed spikes to channel the energy, purify it and distribute it into our machines. But the malice rarely made its way to a spike, we needed it to be more direct. We then discovered the Zonai and some of their magic, we then learned of a solution, which came at a terrible price. We committed an atrocity whilst attempting to take control of the malice. Our wish was granted and the malice began to power all of our devices. But during his slumber, the corpse, Ganondorf, learned of our plans. He simply infected his purified substance, easily taking control of our technology when he sent his spectral form to attack the kingdom a century ago."

"There was also a prophecy which we came across. It stated that 'The Gerudo King will use his wit to use what resources he has to break down the kingdom to its weakest state, and wait for the dust to settle. When the kingdom becomes hopeful, he will awaken from his slumber. He will destroy everything without mercy, and Hyrule will be nothing more than a wasteland of ash.' I believe that this prophecy was a result of our actions, and I apologise for that. There is many things which you will soon experience. Within the next week, Ganondorf will reawaken. Within a month, the kingdom will be flattened and reduced to ash." The two were silent as the figure stood up, beginning to fade away. "There is no other way, I am sorry.."

They were left alone. Link didn't know what to say, they had learned so much in such a short span of time, and their destiny.. was just to die? He looked over towards Zelda, noting that she seemed to be holding back tears. "He's wrong.." She whispered softly, he watched as she clenched her fists before her eyes met his. They were full of anger. "We have gone through so much, this cannot be how it ends.." Her tone had a cutting edge in it, one Link had never heard before. "Zelda.. what can we do to prevent that?" He had to be reasonable, had to remain sane. "We will find him, and we will destroy him." Her voice was quiet, but her tone was firm, her mind wasn't going to change. "We're going to the castle, there's something I must see." Without a word she turned and left him. He lowered his head slightly, debating whether he should follow her or not. What was the point of continuing on if they were destined to die? He looked up at her again, watching her figure get smaller as she walked further from him. She was his point, his reason for continuing on. Silently, he began walking after her.
