After some short moments, the two stood up and began retracing their steps. They left the cave in a hurry before hearing the sounds of screaming in the distance. They turned, watching as flames rose from the ruins of the stable nearby. Their torture had already begun. "He hasn't even been out for ten minutes.. and already.." She felt his hand squeeze hers as she trailed off, she turned away from the horror, just in time to see a figure sneaking up on them. "Link!" She let go of his hand and stepped back as he swung around. She watched him pull his sword out, though what was odd was that he was wielding it with his left hand. She looked at the attacker, it was the stable worker, Jacob. "Now he's trying to kill us?" Link was silent for a moment as the attacker slowly approached him. "This isn't his doing, he's corrupted. There's malice in his eyes." He called out to her, such a horrific fate was too much to comprehend. She watched as Link eyed down his opponent, usually he would have gone to attack, but he seemed different now, less confident. Jacob rushed towards him, and though it appeared as though Link tried to deflect his attack, he was overpowered and thrown down to the ground. Zelda could only watch as Link struggled to stop a knife from piercing his skin.
Then, from the corner of her eye she saw a flash of red, and within a second a blade had found its way into Jacob's back. The man let out a hoarse groan as death claimed him, and he fell limp. She blinked, before looking to see who it was that had saved them. Though, she was less than relieved when she saw the eye of the Yiga. She heard Link scampering back before getting onto his feet, holding his blade in front of him. It appeared as though most of their clan was present, they were truly outnumbered. The soldier in front, the one who had saved them, dropped his weapon and raised his hands in the air. "We come in peace." His voice was slightly muffled through his mask. "We had been tracking you for a few days, plotting to kill you, but then we saw what happened up there. I don't know what we were thinking in worshipping that heartless creature." Based on the body language of the soldiers present, Zelda assumed that they were not pleased with forming an alliance with the duo, but it seemed as though they were willing to comply.
"We wish to aid you in battle, if you'll allow us." Zelda glanced at Link, leaving the decision to him. He knew best. "It is best that the two of us travel alone, I thank you for saving us, but we do not require assistance." She nodded at his words, though she assumed what he really was thinking is that they couldn't trust these people. The soldier in front nodded softly. "Then may the goddesses smile upon you." They all disappeared in a plume of smoke, and Zelda quickly turned to Link to see if he was alright. "What in the name of Hylia just happened?" She inquired as she checked over him for injuries. "You couldn't stop him at all." She looked into his eyes, seeing slight confusion in them. "When you fell, the hand which held Ganondorf down caught me, it decided to save me from a fall rather than keep Ganondorf in stasis. I don't know why, but when it pulled me up, it shot itself into me, filling my arm with its energy. But the arm is useless now, I cannot move it at all." Zelda frowned before pulling up his sleeve and examining the arm, there were no abnormalities, but she attempted bending his finger backwards a little. "Can you feel that?" She inquired, he simply shook his head. "I think I'm beginning to see how this prophecy is truthful.." She whispered to herself.
"We need to chase him, and stop him." She frowned at Link's words. Neither of them were capable of stopping him. But they needed to try. "You're right." She nodded solemnly before taking the Sheikah Slate from him. She tapped on the screen to activate it, but nothing happened. "What? It's like its out of.." She froze before looking at Link. "When Ganondorf awoke, his energy was cut off from being harvested, all of the Sheikah Technology appears to have shut off." She looked around, all the towers had vanished, like having disappeared into the ground. "We need horses, though I doubt any remain at the stable.." She looked around before standing up. "We'll need your map knowledge to find us another stable." She gazed down at him, watching as he struggled to remember where they could find somewhere useful. "The foothill stable, we must hurry." He got to his feet and his left hand grabbed hers and they began to run. This reminded her of the time that they were running through the forest, after Calamity Ganon awoke, she was lost and scared, things weren't much different now.
They made it to the stable in record time and quickly took out two horses. Link practically threw the money at the desk before they began to ride off into the distance. They began heading to Hyrule Field, from there they could determine where Ganondorf's wake of destruction was headed for. But it seemed as though he'd only targeted that singular stable for now. His power was overwhelming, and he wasn't holding back now. He glanced down at his limp arm, wondering what the point in being saved was if he was just going to be stripped of everything which made him powerful. His left arm was not well trained in combat, he could not utilise his sword with it, not without years of rigorous training, time he no longer had.
They made it to the valley just between Crenel Hills and Crenel Peak when the ground began to shake. They paused and looked around, this tremor was clearly caused by Ganondorf, but his location was unknown to them. Then, Link saw large clouds of dust rising from the castle's perimeters. "The castle." He said quickly, attracting Zelda's attention to it. "It's rising." She said after a moment, she was correct, he could see it being lifted from the ground. Link wondered what was underneath it, holding it up, but when it was fully risen, there was nothing present beneath, it was simply floating. "How is he doing that?" He asked quietly, wondering if Zelda's knowledge knew anything of the occurrence. "He wields the Tri-Force of power, we don't know the limitations of his power, I'd assume that that is what he draws enough strength from to achieve this."
There was another tremor, a deeper one. Link could hear the rumbling more distinctly coming from their right. He turned his head and noticed a large ash cloud gathering around the crater of the volcano. "Zelda.." He whispered softly, keeping his eyes on the large mountain. A few seconds a large meteorite shot out of Death Mountain. He watched it raise into the sky before arcing, beginning to come back down. His eyes watched for sometime until he realised where it was headed, he turned his head away and soon heard the sound of it crashing back into the land. "Goron City.." Zelda's words confirmed his fears. He looked back, where Goron City was located, there was now a giant hole created by the molten rock. "This has to stop." Link stated quickly before pulling on the reins, and forcing his mount towards the castle.
