They rode their horses to castle town, they were trying to find a way up to the castle, but there were no evident solutions present. Then there was a gust of wind and the sounds of wings flapping before talons landed behind them. They turned, staring at the white Rito, Teba. "What in the name of Hylia is going on?!" The Rito stepped towards them. "I felt tremors so I came to see what was going on, next thing the castle is floating and Death Mountain has erupted!" Link dismounted his horse. "Teba, you need to get us up there. Ganondorf Dragmire has awoken, and he wishes to destroy the kingdom. He is a threat which has risen time and time again, and we need to stop him." The Rito nodded softly. "I suppose we haven't a second to lose then, hop on." He bent over and the two quickly made their way over before mounting his back. He shot up into the air and brought them up to the castle. They dismounted him on the path before turning to him. "Warn as many people as you can." Link called out before beginning to run up the pathway. He heard Zelda's footsteps just behind him.
The wall ahead of them appeared to have been blown open. Malice previously obstructed the entry point, but it was completely gone now. It led to a room which Link had never seen before. "The Great Hall.." Zelda whispered, barely audible. "It was being renovated a lot, but was never finished. It would appear that Ganondorf is making it his base of operations.." He nodded before stepping forwards, past the rubble. There was a tall archway inside which led to this room, there was noise coming from it. It was the sound of an organ, playing a menacing tune. They stepped further inside. It was Ganondorf who was playing at the end of the room. Link pulled out his sword and slowly approached the monster, hoping their presence was unknown. He crept along the hall before making it to the steps just by Ganondorf. As soon as he placed a foot on the first step, the demon king spun around and the entire organ was sent flying towards the knight. It crashed into him, letting out a horrendous tune as he flew back from the blow.
"You're recklessness in coming here is to be admired." Link got to his feet quickly as Ganondorf slowly began to circle around him. "You are both rendered useless and yet you come to fight me anyways." Link watched as he was circled still, Ganondorf placed his arms behind his back as he walked. "I tried many times to taken this kingdom. But none of my attempts worked for one futile reason." He turned and stared Link dead in the eyes. "I never eliminated everything. I wished to keep some of it intact, so that when I took over I would have a head start at ruling. But 100,000 years of sleep has made me realise that I must start over. When it all comes to pass, Hyrule will be a blank slate, one which I will turn into my own kingdom, Demirule." He stretched his arm out and a black blade materialised from the air. "I did not wish to kill you two so early on, I suppose I can do with the full power of the Tri-Force." Link paused and glanced at Zelda quickly. "Oh, that's right.. I eliminated all evidence of how that artefact works through my Calamities.." He chuckled threateningly. "You each hold a piece of the Tri-Force within you. Link, it is what gave you the ability to pull the Master Sword, and Zelda, it is what gave you the impression that you could beat me." He chuckled again before walking towards Link. "I have held the Tri-Force of power four times now. During my first attack I received it after splitting it, then I received it both during a time where the kingdom was flooded, and when I was to be sentenced to death. And then that brings us to when I was sealed away last. After converging three timelines, I received it for the final time, and to make sure it wasn't stripped of me, I made it my goal to erase all information about it." The Gerudo raised his sword and the Hylian prepared himself for a duel.
Ganondorf shot forwards, priming his blade. Link held his blade out as the Gerudo's sword came crashing down. Link managed to parry the blow with his blade before pushing Ganondorf back some. He dove forward and plunged his blade deep within Ganondorf's chest. His eyes widened, he'd done it, he'd gone and defeated him. Ganondorf fell to his knees weakly, groaning with pain as he placed his hand on the Master Sword. He seemed afraid, but that fear soon gave way to delight. "There's no powers present to seal me away." He ripped the blade from his chest and threw it towards the side of the room. Link quickly went towards it, diving and grabbing it. But when he stood back up, he felt something hot hit into his back. He fell forward and placed his hand on the ground to support himself. Something was passing through him, he could feel it coursing through him, up towards his head. His vision turned dark momentarily, and when it reappeared, he had lost control of his body. He could see malice running through his veins as he stood up, Ganondorf was controlling him.
He found himself picking up his sword with his right hand and turning towards the Demon King. Ganondorf pointed towards Zelda, and Link's head involuntarily turned to face her. He slowly approached her and she stepped back in fear. "Link? What are you doing?" He walked up to her and violently pushed her to the ground. "Link! Stop! It's me!" He crouched down next to her and placed his sword to her neck. What killed him was that he was aware, he was a prisoner in his mind, watching this play out. He knew what was about to happen, Ganondorf would force him to kill her. His arm began to glow a dull green, and for a second, control returned to him. He quickly threw the blade away before he lost control again, and his hands clamped on Zelda's neck, choking her. She struggled against his grip, staring into his eyes. She couldn't speak, but she was mouthing the words 'I love you.' He focused on regaining control, starting by closing his eyes. They shut, and then he attempted to weaken his grip. He heard Zelda gasp for air as he slowly pulled his hands away. He stepped back from her before placing his hands against his head. "Get out of me you monster!" He yelled before his hand glowed again, and the malice within him died.
Upon regaining control, the glowing effect stopped, but his right arm was able to move again. He grabbed his sword and ran towards Ganondorf, leaping into the air, dodging his opponent's blade. He thrust his sword into the back of the Gerudo's leg before hearing the demon scream in pain. He twisted the blade before taking it out, but before he could do any more, Ganondorf turned around and knocked the blade from his hand before kicking Link down to the ground.
Zelda stood up, coughing violently as she tried to open up her airways. She knew that that wasn't Link who was attempting to kill her, though it had frightened her all the same. He was currently on the ground, and Ganondorf's blade was suspended in the air, ready to plunge down straight into Link's skull. "No!" She screamed and raised her hand, hoping her powers would return to her, but nothing happened. The blade began to fall when something whizzed past her, and Ganondorf was enveloped in flames. She watched as Teba flew around the hall, wielding a bow and allowing bomb arrows to rain down on their enemy. A trident then shot into Ganon's back, and she turned, seeing Sidon standing there, along with Yunobo and Riju. She smiled softly before seeing Link making his way towards her. "We need to leave." He said quietly, grabbing her hand. "Link? Why- he's outnumbered!" Link tried pulling her away. "You don't have your powers, we'll lose anyways!" She looked at Ganondorf and watched him pull the spear from his back. She then nearly threw up as she watched him throw the trident back, watching as it pierced Sidon's skin. "We can't sit here and let them die then!" She grabbed Link's hand, pulling him back. He shook his head before making his way towards Ganondorf.
Teba continued to shoot arrows as Zelda made her way over to Sidon. "Prince Sidon, are you alright?" She looked at him. He was panting softly. "Get out of here.. it's too dangerous. I'll be okay.." She could see that he was losing a lot of blood quickly. She turned around to look for help, but watched as the Demon King grabbed a bomb arrow in mid flight and threw it back at the Rito, seemingly killing him instantly. "Sidon I'm getting you out of here." She placed her hands on the trident. "This is gonna hurt, you'll need to be brave." She yanked it out before discarding it to the side. She began helping him up and out of the chamber. Once he was outside she set him down, she would need to tend to his wounds after this, but they needed to slow Ganondorf for now.
She stepped back inside, seeing Link failing to land any attacks on him. He punched Link, sending him flying across the room and tumbling before crashing into a wall. She quickly made her way over to him. "You were right, we must leave. We need to help Sidon get out." He nodded and stood up. She turned to look at the other Champion descendants. "Yunobo, Riju! Get out of here!" She yelled desperately. "No princess, we must protect Hyrule with our lives, even if it means losing ours." Yunobo shouted. He was currently in his shield with Riju, as the young chief shot lightning at Ganondorf. Ganondorf stumbled towards them, the effects of the electricity weakening as he came to tolerate it. He began slamming his fist down on Yunobo's protection, again and again his hand pounded it, until it shattered. She turned and grabbed Link's hand and began to run as she heard the fist crash down one final time. The absence of the sounds of crackling electricity were enough to tell her what had happened.
Outside, they grabbed Sidon before beginning to carry him back to the edge of the castle. Luckily, Ganondorf didn't bother chasing them. They made it to the edge and stared down. "What do we do?!" Zelda yelled before looking at Link. "We jump, there's water below." She frowned, but there was no other option. They held onto Sidon as they leaped off in unison, and fell down towards the water below.
