- Episode Begin -
Dear Mom and Dad I'm doin' fine,
You guys are on my mind.
You asked me what I wanted to be
And now I think the answer is plain to see,
I wanna be famous.
I wanna live close to the sun,
Go pack your bags, 'cause I've already won,
Everything to prove, nothing in my way
I'll get there one day.
Cause, I wanna be famous!
Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na!
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous
The camera cut to a decent looking film lot. It definitely wasn't state-of-the-art, but it could've been much worse. The size of the entire thing was baffling, considering it's condition. Most of the supplies inside from a distance looked fine, but when you looked closer it was clear they had been used multiple, if not dozens at times and were getting worn out. Suddenly, it lurched forward then zoomed into the entrance of the film lot itself, focusing on a Raichu and Raboot standing there. A somewhat rusty-looking gate labelled "POKÉPARK FILM LOT"
"Welcome, viewers," The host Kai loudly stated, "to TOTAL POKÉMON ACTION! I've invited 14 lucky contestants to compete this summer for one million Poke! They'll have to fight for it, though, i'm not out here just giving out free money! That would be ridiculous. Right, Ren? Rightttt?"
The co-host, Ren, didn't seem too amused, but answered anyways. "Yeah, you're right.." It was clear that he wasn't the most passionate about his job on the show. Hey, everyone's gotta make a living somehow. "How long is the bus taking to arrive anyway?"
"Oh yeah, the bus! The thing with all of the contestants inside! Uhh.. I have no idea!" The Raichu laughed nervously. Luckily, it screeched to a halt right in front of the filmlot, moving into the camera's view. "..Well then, looks like they're here. No time to waste, let's welcome them!" Ren nodded, before the first of the contestants walked out of the bus.
Otto, an Oshawott, was reading a book like he typically did. He slammed it shut suddenly, lightly placing his bookmark in beforehand. "Well then, looks like we made it."
"Ya sure did!" Kai stated, "And now I hope you're ready to compete! This competition won't be a walk in the park."
"I'm pretty sure that I put the pieces together when I had to sign a 15-page waiver before coming here. And why the bus looked like a death trap that would fall apart at any moment." Otto smirked. "Anyways, I guess i'll just go over there.." He carried his bag a distance away, waiting in front of the film lot's shiny but worn out gates.
"Anyways.. next!" Kai shouted, as a Slurpuff named Amelia exited the bus second. She seemed rather nervous, but excited to be there. "So glad to be here! Hi mom!" Amelia waved a camera nearby before turning to the hosts.
"So, Amelia! Welcome to the show! I hope you'll enjoy the show."
"I hope i'll enjoy it too! Wait.. how did you know my name!?" The Slurpuff exclaimed, clearly confused.
"I'm the host. I got all your names before you came here! Silly." Ren chuckled a little bit as Kai spoke.
"Oh! I.. totally knew that! I'm not that dumb to make a mistake like THAT!" She was clearly lying as she blushed, just rushing over to the umimpressed looking Otto, who had just opened his book again.
"..I doubt she'll last long." Ren commented before Kai shushed him.
"You aren't supposed to just- say stuff like that!" He hardly seemed to care that the Raichu was upset. While the two were bickering, Art, a Dewott, left the bus carrying two bags along with Andy, a Rockruff.
"..And there you go." The Dewott said, as he set Andy's bag down. "Thanks, heh.." The Rockruff said, laughing a bit sheepishly. He looked somewhat embarrassed that someone had to carry his bag for him. Both of them became confused once they saw the two hosts arguing.
"You really need to be more professional! We've been over thi- oops! Hey, Art and Andy! Sorry that you had to overhear a certain SOMEONE being rude.." He glared at Ren, who still didn't seem to care much at all. "Feel free to go with the rest of the group over to our right." The Raichu gestured to Otto and Amelia, who seemed to be paying no attention to eachother.
They both nodded, before Art did so with a calm expression on his face. Andy took a bit longer, having to tug on his bag with his teeth. "It's times like this when I wish I didn't have four legs!"
"Aw, it's not that bad!" Vince, a Yamper said as he ran off the bus with a backpack attached to his back. Electricity crackled behind him, almost like a sparkling trail that followed him anywhere he ran. It was clear that he was full of energy. "Just look at me, i'm able to carry my bag fine!"
"Maybe because.." Andy tugged on his bag again. "..You have a backpack instead of an entire duffel bag!" It seemed to click in Vince's head shortly after. "Oh, you're right. Sorry." He replied.
"Well then, welcome, Vince! Glad to have ya." Kai smiled.
"It's definitely making me happy to be here! Really happy! Kind of been getting tired of just staying home the entire time, so coming here is a great change of pace!" The Yamper definitely was excited.
"Hopefully you can stay with us the whole way through, then! Feel free to go with the rest of the group." Vince listened to Kai, zooming over to Otto.
"Nice to meetcha!" He exclaimed, startling the Oshawott enough to make him look up from his now reopened book.
"..Nice to meet you too, I guess." He said, before going right back to reading. The Yamper seemed to be a bit confused on why Otto was so dismissive, but it didn't bother him much.
Suddenly, Zach, a Buizel, flipped out of the bus.. and landed face-first onto the concrete. "..Ow. I really expected that to go better." He sighed, before pulling himself up and grabbing his bag he had dropped to sling it around his shoulder. "This is it, I guess."
"Welcome to the game, Zach! Hopefully this'll be a fun experience for you!" Kai said, probably for the fourth or fifth time already.
"Yeah.. not so sure about that now that i'm here." He cringed as he looked around, before walking over to the rest of the group and relaxing a bit. "Maybe i'm worrying too much."
"Nah, this place seems a bit.. run-down, to put it lightly. I doubt that this'll be the best experience. Makes sense if it's for a million Poke, though, so I can't blame the hosts. Not like they have control over the budget anyways. All in the hands of whatever network's managing this show." Otto remarked, seemingly out of nowhere.
"Uhh.. okay then." Zach said, before rummaging through his stuff to make sure everything was there. June, a Riolu, walked over to the hosts while the Buizel was looking through his things. "Well, uh.. hi! I'm here." She didn't know exactly what to say.
"Welcome to the show, June! Hoping you can do well," Kai said, trying to be kind towards the Riolu.
"Thanks, but i'm not really sure about that.." She sighed, walking over with everyone else. It was a bit intimidating, being on television. She felt like everyone was superior to her. Like she didn't exactly belong.
"Hello." Art said, waving to June. "Oh! Uh, hi. This is exciting, isn't it?" The Riolu said, trying to start a conversation.
"Sure is. I can sense you're nervous though. Don't worry about it, everyone is. Even me a little bit." He gently laughed, his voice sounding surprisingly soothing and feminine.
"Thanks for trying to calm my nerves, but I don't think it'll help much.." She rubbed her paw on her head.
"I mean, it's better than just letting you stay nervous. If you ever need someone to talk to, i'm right here." He smiled, and so did June.
Next to get off the bus was Mira, an Azumarill. She was sipping a lemonade, with some pink sunglasses covering her eyes. She carried a vibrant and expensive-looking purse. "Did we make a wrong turn? This doesn't feel right.."
"No, you're in the right place. This isn't your personal 5-star hotel back home. Now get over there with everyone else." Ren seemed to cut Kai off before he could give a proper introduction. Though Mira was offended by the rudeness, she obliged and stood next to Zach.
"This place looks way more.. rusty than it looked on the application.." The Azumarill sighed, while Otto rolled his eyes as she made the comment. He assumed she was the stereotypical spoiled daddy's girl; that's at least the vibes he got from her so far. But who knew? Maybe she'd prove him wrong, but for some reason he highly doubted it. The next contestant walked over hurriedly.
Sami or Sam as she preferred, a Sylveon, was also drinking like Mira was, but instead of lemonade, it was a coffee. "Alright then, let's get this started!" She yelled out, clearly being given energy by the caffeine rush from the coffee.
"Yeahh! I love to see that energy, Sam! Keep it up!" Kai grinned widely, seeming to take a liking to the Sylveon immediately.
She went over to the rest of the group. "Hey everybody!" Most people waved. She decided to stand next to Andy.
"Oh, uh, hey." The Rockruff had finally managed to pull his bag over just moments earlier, now open for conversation. "Hi! I think I heard your name on the bus; Andy, is it?" He nodded.
"Well then, hopefully we can be friends then. Better than becoming enemies or something, right?" She said.
"Yeah, definitely.. having enemies in this type of TV show could probably get you sent home.. hopefully that doesn't happen to either of us." Andy said, agreeing with her statement.
"That would really suck.. just because you made the wrong person dislike you, you'd get sent home.. I don't think it'll happen to me at all, though. I'm great with teamwork, and I definitely work hard!" She said, sounding confident about herself. Andy couldn't say that about himself.. his confidence wasn't the highest, especially not in a competition almost completely based on popularity.
Nathan, a Breloom, was next to go to the hosts. He remained mostly silent, just taking in his surroundings before speaking. "Well then, this is the place. The Poképark filmlot." Kai nodded in approval, happy that at least someone had remembered the name.. or the others just didn't bother to mention it. "Well then, i'll just.." Nathan went to the big group of contestants, mostly just minding his own business, before someone tapped on his shoulder.
"Hm?" He turned around to be greeted by Mira.
"I need your advice. Which pair of sunglasses do you think fit me better? The pink ones i'm wearing, or these navy ones?" She pulled out a pair of nearly identical sunglasses, and put them side by side for him to look at.
"Uhh.. I guess the navy ones? They go better with your body color." She nodded, seeming thankful, before placing the pink ones back into her bag. Reese, a Skitty, walked over to the hosts while Mira did so.
"So, you must be Kai. And Ren. The hosts, right?" They both nodded. "Well, it's nice to meet you both!" She said.
"Yeah, definitely nice to meet you as well!" Kai replied, before Reese smiled and walked over to the rest of the group. She went over to Vince.
"Hii! You must be Vince." Reese said, before Vince nodded in agreement.
"Sure am! You seem nice." Reese appreciated the compliment.
"Thanks.. you seem nice also." Reese felt a bit gloomy at the moment. The main reason she had joined was so she would separate herself from the crowd, to be different. And she was already falling back into her old patterns?
Nice? How generic was that? If she wanted to be truly special, she had to do more than just be NICE! The Skitty was completely overthinking the situation, but it wasn't like anyone there could peek into her mind and help her realize that.
Cloud, a Flygon, flew rather than stepped off of the bus. He seemed to be wearing.. a helmet? How strange.. "Gotta sanitize before I touch anything." The Flygon rubbed some hand sanitizer all over his hands and claws, clearly being cautious.
"Well, uhh.. welcome, Cloud." Kai said, clearly weirded out by Cloud's use of the sanitizer and helmet covering his head.
"Hello, Kai! Nice to be here. Want some hand sanitizer?" The Flygon pulled out a dispenser, offering it to Kai.
"No thanks, i'll pass." Kai said politely.
"Oh well, your loss." Cloud said, as he flew over to the group carefully, landing next to Zach.
"Uhh.. what's the helmet for?" Zach asked, curious. Was there any reason behind it?
"I just wanna stay safe, y'know. Anything could be dangerous at potentially any time, so why risk hurting myself when I can simply be prepared? I can apply sanitizer to fight off germs, and wear a helmet to prevent head injuries!" He seemed rather happy about it.
"Oh. You're one of those people." The Buizel said, ending the conversation.
"One of.. those people?" Cloud seemed confused, but brushed it off. "Whatever, i'll just do my own thing.." Apparently his 'own thing' is to organize his backpack full of cleaning and medical supplies.
A Clefairy named Jenny was the thirteenth to leave the bus. She seemed to have a pleasant aura around her; like a really good friend that you often wanted to visit. Someone you could always turn to. And it matched up with how she acted. "Thanks for letting me be here," the Clefairy said, as it was directed towards the hosts.
"No problem! You earned it by getting through that hellish interview process." Kai laughed a little, while Ren continued to not say a word and just watch. It seemed that he had nothing to say for the time being. "..Anyways, join the rest of the group!" Jenny did so rather swiftly.
"Nice to meet everyone! I'm sure we'll all grow to become good friends." She said, and nobody really seemed to disagree. She seemed to care deeply about the people around her, and there was nothing that signaled it wasn't the case. But was this all an act just for the show? None of them truly knew. Finally, the fourteenth person exited the bus.
"Ooh, am I the last person?" Layla, a Cinccino said. "I think I am, the bus was empty when I left.."
"You sure are. And that's all 14 people too! So now we can FINALLY head into the film lot!" Everyone cheered. They had been standing there for quite a while; now things would finally get started. Kai and Ren lead the crowd through the less-than pearly gates as they showed them around the lot.
"If you look to your left, you'll see the awards ceremony. There, you'll either receive a golden Raichu Statue, or you'll be heading straight home! And to your right are the trailers, where you'll be sleeping. You'll be separated by teams, but we'll get to how those are decided later. For now, let's keep moving forward!"
The reactions seemed mixed to the place. Most of them were positive, but Mira seemed upset with the conditions, and a few others such as Otto just didn't care whatsoever. Everyone kept walking, until the reached a bunch of large pitched-up tents.
"And this is the mess hall, the arts & crafts tent, the kitchen, and finally, all of our incredible film lots! That'll be where all of the challenges happen. There's also the makeup confessional, where you can voice all of your opinions, whenever you feel like it!" Kai spoke, lots of energy in his voice. "Now feel free to wander a bit, but the first challenge is right around the corner, so don't go too far!"
- Confessional Begin -
"Well then, my first confessional. I already don't like this place much. Lots of people are obnoxious, and my reading time is being interrupted. I obviously can't show that, because everyone would vote me off in a flash. I have to at least try and make friends, to socialize. All I need to do in this game is survive, not thrive. Because you know that everyone at the top gets taken out, only leaving the people left in the middle of the pack. I want to be
there. So as long as I don't **** up massively, I'll be fine. At least as far as I'm concerned." Otto seemed to be deep in thought as he spoke.
- Confessional End -
"Anyways, please follow me to the city lot! We're going to begin our first challenge!" The Raichu exclaimed loudly, as everyone began to whisper among themselves.
"Uhh.. where's the rabbit one? The Raboot one from earlier?" Zach asked Kai, curious about it.
"Oh, you'll see soon enough. Don't worry about it.. for now." He smiled mysteriously, striking fear into everyone. What could the mouse be up to?
- Confessional Begin -
Cloud looked nervous. "This competition.. is already scaring me. The host isn't telling us anything, so how are we supposed to anticipate what'll happen? We can't! What am I supposed to do!?"
- Confessional End -
"Ooh, I wonder what the challenge could be? Is it an eating contest? That would be totally awesome!" Vince said in excitement.
"I don't know, Vince.. I highly doubt it for some reason." Andy remarked, as the group arrived at the magnificent cardboard city. It looked like it had been bitten into, which was.. disturbing and concerning, to say the least.
"..Uhh, why is there bite marks in the buildings?" June asked.
"You see.. your challenges will be based around MOVIE GENRES! And today is the.. monster movie!" Kai yelled out, as anyone who wasn't concerned already became afraid of what was to come next.
"..Monster movie? Oh Arceus, this can't end well for any of us." Otto said, clearly worried.
"Oh, don't worry! It's only the KILLER KANGASKHAN that'll be chasing all of you! It caused the film lot to be abandoned! I wish you the best of luck.." Kai made the situation way more terrifying than it had to be with how he spoke.
"Wait.. it's a REAL monster? Oh no we're all gonna DIEEEEEE!" Amelia yelled out in horror.
"Can you not YELL? Okay, it isn't an ACTUAL monster! Ren, that Raboot from earlier as you guys put it, is controlling an animatronic version of the KILLER KANGASKHAN! So I can promise none of you will die!" As Kai spoke in annoyance, everyone collectively sighed with relief. They were safe.. at least for now.
"I definitely knew that! How could you think that I was that stupid? I'm offended!" Amelia said, while everyone rolled their eyes.
- Confessional Begin -
"That Amelia girl is having.. a bit of trouble, to say the least. Hopefully she can.. get some help..?" Nathan tried to put it nicely, but he had definitely failed in that regard.
- Confessional End -
The group all heard booming footsteps. "Well, that might be your signal to run.." Kai said, as the huge animatronic came into view. Everyone wasted no time on splitting up into groups and scattering off. Even if they know the monster wouldn't kill them, they still wanted to win this challenge! Who knew what reward would await the winner? Or punishment for the loser?
Otto, Art, Mira, and Zach ran left, towards the beach set. Mira pulled Nathan in her direction. "Cmon! Let's go!" She yelled, as the Breloom followed her in surprise.
- Confessional Begin -
"I think that Nathan was really nice to help me out earlier, so I thought, 'why not try and talk to him some more?' And that's why I pulled him towards me! Even if I did ask him specifically, haha." Mira smiled into the camera.
- Confessional End -
As the group eventually reached the beach set, they looked behind him. The animatronic was following them! "FOR ARCEUS' SAKE, DO WE REALLY HAVE TO BE THE FIRST ONES OUT OF THE CHALLENGE?" Otto yelled.
"We? Who said anything about we?" Zach tripped Otto, while the other three looked back in concern, but didn't stop.
"WHY YOU LITTLE- AAAAGH!" Otto latched onto the Buizel's leg last minute, taking them both down. "If you're gonna be a little trickster and pull something like that, you're going down with me!"
"LET ME GO!" Zach yelled as he kicked the Oshawott off. But it was too late; they were both picked up by the monster.
"Woahhh! Jeez, this is high!" Otto said, gripping onto his book carefully. They were both carried back to the trailers, and dropped into.. a bouncy house?
"A bouncy house of all places? Really weird choice for a monster movie, but it was a big fall, I guess.."
"Shut up, nerd." Zach said while he glared at Otto, who glared back.
- Confessional Begin -
"Looks like.. i've found my first target." Otto looked into the camera, looking determined.
- Confessional End -
"Wow! Uhm.. that was.. something!" Nathan said awkwardly.
"Sure was. No time to waste though. Ren must've saw us when he picked up the other two, so we should pick up the pace! We don't wanna lose, after all." Art said, as the other two nodded in agreement. They eventually reached the beach set.
"Okay, so question number one; should we hide?" Nathan asked.
"Good question, but I don't think it's a good idea. He'll probably be looking for us in this area anyways. Just keep going!" Art yelled, as they ran across the beach set.
"This is making me nervous.." Mira said. "You'll help me out, right?" She turned to Nathan, who seemed to be panicking a bit. Was she asking for his help?
"I mean, sure.. but I can't promise i'll do a super good job." He didn't seem very confident.
"Don't worry about it! I appreciate it anyways." She smiled, and he smiled back.
Meanwhile..
Vince, Andy, and Layla were in their own little group. It semeed that the trio had decided to run through one of the cardboard buildings, taking a shortcut into the space set.
"Ooh.. that's Saturn! Venus too! This is so cool!" Vince exclaimed, as he continued to look around curiously.
"Yeah, it does look cool, Vince, but we're in a competition right now! We can't just be exploring the film lot, we need to find somewhere to hide! Running won't do us any good, because we'll just get caught!" Andy said. He was clearly trying to think strategically.
"Hmm.." Layla was in deep thought for a moment. "I mean, what's stopping us from just.. hiding here? There's tons of nooks and crannies."
"Oh yeah, you're right! Let's totally do that!" Andy said in agreement, as the three of them began to try and find their own hiding spots. Layla hid behind the large asteroid on the set, Andy tried to blend in with the rocks, and Vince.. he was gone.
"Uhh.. Layla? Where did Vince go?" Andy asked.
"..You tell me!" She replied, confused on where he could've wandered off to.
Vince at that current moment was heading towards the mess hall, leaving his two friends behind.
- Confessional Begin -
"Okay, so I know it was kinda mean to abandon those two at the space set, but why would Ren think to look in the mess hall? At least not until deep into the challenge. Not a bad idea, right? And i'm super fast, so running isn't a problem!" Vince smiled.
- Confessional End -
"Okay, it would be really dumb to look for him, so I think we just might have to stay put.." The Rockruff said, as they stayed silent and remained in their hiding spots.
Meanwhile (again)..
Amelia, Sam, Reese, Jenny, Cloud, and June were together, as they had all ran right. They were led into the superhero set; which was mostly just more and more cardboard buildings.
"We aren't getting anywhere!" June said, becoming more and more concerned. You can only imagine how much worse she felt when she heard the booming footsteps.
"RUNNNNN!" Sam yelled, as everyone separated into different parts of the set.
"Hey! Running's unsafe! You could trip and possibly get a concussion! That's why i'm wearing my amazing helme- oh darn." Cloud realized he was caught by the monster as he was rambling, and was thrown into the bouncy house.
"Looks like Sir Safety got caught. Let me guess, you were too busy rambling on about your damn helmet to realize you lost the challenge." Zach was clearly being hostile towards the Flygon, while Otto just continued reading his classic book.
"I- yeah.. you're right." He looked ashamed.
- Confessional Begin -
"For the first time in my life, am I being.. too safe?" Cloud looked like he was having an existential crisis.
- Confessional End -
While Ren was going to continue chasing the rest of the group, he saw a yellow energy trail run into the mess hall. 'I'll have to check that later..' He thought to himself, before knocking one of the huge cardboard buildings down. Jenny, Sam, and Reese screamed, but Jenny pushed Reese out of the way, leaving the Clefairy and Sylveon to be brought back to the camp, as Ren seemed to be satisfied with catching two of the contestants. The Skitty took deep breaths, just relieved to still be in the competition.
- Confessional Begin -
"Reminder to myself; I owe that Clefairy big time." Reese was still somewhat panicking.
- Confessional End -
Jenny and Sam were dropped into the bounch house, as both, especially Sam, seemed rather upset to have lost the challenge. "This really sucks! I thought I was better than this," Sam remarked as she sighed.
"Well, cry a river and get over it. All of us thought we would do better." Zach jabbed at the Sylveon with an insult.
"..Is the coast clear?" June asked.
"Silly, how could we know? We aren't near a coastline, like in California!" Amelia remarked.
"..It's just easier not to correct that and keep running." Reese said, not wanting to waste time.
"Okay, you're right. Let's keep moving, who knows how much longer it'll take for the monster to get back?" June said, as everyone continued running.
Vince was in the mess hall, hiding under a table, before hearing the monster approach. He silently chuckled to himself, thinking about how clever he was, until the animatronic reached into the mess hall and managed to grab him from under the table. "Ow, ow! Stop itt!" He growled, clearly upset at his loss. He was dropped into the bouncy house, upset.
"Jeez, everyone's dropping like a bunch of Cutiefly. My bet's this challenge lasts for about half an hour longer!" Sam said.
"It might take hours, y'know. Who knows how many people were actually smart and decided to hide?" Otto said.
"I doubt many, considering everyone i've talked to so far." Zach said while staring directly at the Oshawott.
- Confessional Begin -
"Honestly, Otto's extremely weak. He's already shown his weakness in allowing me to trip him. And if there's one specific thing you can't do in this game, it's to show weakness. You'll get voted out very, very quickly." Zach said, trying to sound confident.
- Confessional End -
Amelia, June, and Reese continued to travel together, eventually arriving to a fake cliff. "Do you think we should climb it? Maybe he wouldn't spot us from all the way up there!" Amelia said, trying to give a suggestion.
"But the animatronic is huge! Chances are we'll be at direct eye level with it if we climb up there. We'll just make ourselves a big target!" June said, looking upset that she had to reject the Slurpuff's idea.
"I totally knew that! Just wanted to throw a curveball at you two, make sure you knew your stuff. Yeah, that's it!" She remarked, while Reese and June looked at eachother, completely knowing the truth.
"Okay, but what are we gonna do then?" Reese asked. "Maybe we could hide at the very edge of the film lot?"
"I mean, that could work, but where would we even figure out how to get there before being caught?" June asked.
The group of three just kept trying to brainstorm.
Meanwhile.. (for the third time baby!)
Mira, Nathan, and Art were still running with eachother, when they heard the booming footsteps.
"I have an idea! Let's cut through these two buildings!" They were side-by-side metal storage units, filled to the brim with old supplies. All three of them ran through the tight gap, but Mira got stuck.
"No, no, no! I can't lose this challenge! This is so embarrassing!" She remained quiet, hoping that the monster would miss her as a last resort. She heard Art and Nathan yell and groan as they were taken away, but her? She remained uncaptured.
"Huh..? He passed me? He passed me!" She cheered, before tightly squeezing out of the gap and back out. "I'm still in this, i'm still in this!" The Azumarill continued to run.
- Confessional Begin -
"I'm not fat! I don't wanna hear it!" Mira yelled in the confessional.
"..Okay, maybe I had a few too many lemonades.." She sighed loudly.
- Confessional End -
Reese, Amelia, and June were still brainstorming, wasting a total of five minutes standing out in the open, before they heard the footsteps. Before they even had a real chance to run away, Amelia had already been grabbed.. and the monster was coming for Reese! "AH! Why did we waste so much time!?" The Skitty yelled, before she was grabbed onto. June used this opportunity to run as far as she could, and the animatronic ran after her in pursuit. She took turns, left and right, before arriving to the space lot.
"Phew.. I think i'm safe now.." She remarked, before she was grabbed onto. All the Riolu did was sigh, before Ren heard a small shuffling in the set. He decided to peek around a bit, before he found Layla.
"Are you serious!? I was so close too!" The Cinccino seemed throughly upset, while Andy's heart was beating out of his chest. He stayed as silent as he could, barely breathing, before the monster walked away with the four girls in it's claws.
- Confessional Begin -
"I guess every dog has its' day, and today was mines." Andy said, clearly in a great mood.
- Confessional End -
Kai spoke loudly over the studio's speakers. "ATTENTION ANDY AND MIRA, THE CHALLENGE IS OVER! YOU ARE THE LAST TWO LEFT AND HAVE WON TODAY'S REWARD; THE ABILITY TO CHOOSE THE TEAMS! PLEASE REPORT TO THE TRAILERS!"
"Finally, we can get out of this stupid bouncy house! It's super hard to read when everyone keeps bouncing in here.." Otto sighed.
"It's just so crowded at this point, it's ridiculous!" Sam said. She was right; there was barely any room left. Eventually, the group saw the two winners return to the trailers and were released from their rubber prison.
"Alright then, Andy, Mira, we're doing this schoolyard pick style; Andy will pick a girl, and Mira will pick a boy, vice versa until everyone is on a team! Since you're the team leader, Andy, your team will be named the Rebellious Rockruffs! Mira, your team will be named the Aesthetical Azumarills! Enjoy these names, as they'll be sticking around alll season, even after you get eliminated!"
"I mean, at least they're good names, right?" Jenny said.
"You're right there! Anyways, Andy, make your first pick!" Kai yelled out.
Andy scanned the group. "Hmmm.. I guess i'll pick.. Jenny? You seem nice enough." The Clefairy smiled, seeming very happy with the selection.
"Mira, your turn." Kai said.
"This is easy! Nathan, come on over here!" The Azumarill said with excitement, as Nathan walked over.
"It's gonna be fun being on the same team all season." He said.
"Sure is! You seem awesome." Mira said as a compliment.
"Anyways, i'm picking Art next. You seem calm and collected, which is good for our team." Andy said, as the Dewott nodded in agreement and walked over.
"Hmm.. Reese." Mira said, as the Skitty walked over in surprise.
- Confessional Begin -
"How did I get chosen so.. early? I'm surprised, but in a good way!" Reese seemed happier than she'd ever been before in the game so far.
- Confessional End -
"Layla. We were together for most of the challenge, and you're relaxed." The Cinccino happily walked over to the Rockruff.
"This is already getting tough.. uhh, the Yamper. Vince." The Azumarill said, somewhat struggling.
"Aw, thanks for choosing me! It would've sucked to be last." Vince rushed over.
Andy seemed to be struggling as well. From what he had seen, Zach was fine athletically, but he was somewhat mean. Otto was extremely weak, but he was funny in the way he was sarcastic and really smart. And then there was Cloud; though his obsession with safety was annoying at times, it would likely be helpful in future challenges.
"..I'll choose Cloud." Andy said.
"Wise choice. We need to stay safe out here, more than anywhere else. These challenges are already scaring me.." The Flygon remarked.
"Sam." Mira thought she would work hard like she had said before.. multiple times, so she could rely on her. The Sylveon nodded and walked over.
Andy was left with his final choice between the remaining two girls; Amelia and June. It was incredibly easy for him. "June, come on over here." The Riolu sighed with relief, while the Slurpuff frowned.
Zach and Otto glared at each other as the last two boys. Mira constantly looked between the two of them, before coming to a decision. "..Zach, come over here. At least you can actually do a challenge." He gave Otto a smug smile, which immediately angered the Oshawott.
- Confessional Begin -
"..I don't know how dumb these people are, but not choosing me over that DUMBASS was a terrible choice! Like, what the ****!? All he's done is faceplant onto the concrete!" Otto yelled at the camera.
- Confessional End -
"So that means that Otto will go to Andy's team, and Amelia will go to Mira's team." The Oshawott and Slurpuff walked over to their respective teams, both looking insecure. They knew that they were the least popular or desired on either team; what were the chances of them making it past their first elimination?
"Anyways, all of you have worked really hard today, and good news; nobody's going home today! You can settle into your trailers and prepare for your next challenge tomorrow." Kai smiled, before walking away with Ren, who was no longer controlling the animatronic. Everyone cheered.
"Phew, I really did not want to be in danger of going home on the first day." Layla looked incredibly relieved.
"None of us did. Well, now we can just relax.. and PARTY!" Zach pulled out a twelve-pack of sodas he had stowed away in his bag. Everyone cheered louder. "No sodas for the LOSER team though." He smiled at Otto once again, making the Oshawott's blood pretty much boil.
- Confessional Begin -
"I knew that picking Zach was the right choice!" Mira said, while drinking her fizzy soda. "Completely worth the trouble."
- Confessional End -
"Now our first challenge has concluded, and all fourteen campers remain going into the next episode? Who can they trust? Will any relationships blossom, and will Amelia finally do something smart? Find out next episode on TOTAL! POKÉMON! ACTION!"
