Chapter 2.

Draco sat quietly, deep in thought across from Pansy Parkinson at the Leaky Cauldron. They were on their lunch break and had come out for a quick bite to eat. Pansy was also a healer at St. Mungo's and was recently engaged to Blaise Zabini who was working in the International Magical Office of Law.

"Hello, earth to Draco." Pansy waved her hand in front of his face to catch his attention.

He looked up at her starting line. "Are you okay there?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. You'll never guess who I saw today," Draco said.

"Who?" she asked as she took a bite of her salad.

"Harry Potter."

She nearly split her salad out. "What?! Where did you see him?"

"At work, his wife is pregnant," Draco responded calmly.

"His wife? When did he get married?"

"Do you live under a rock, Pansy? It was all over the Prophet when it happened. Maybe two years ago; He married Weaslette."

"Oh wow, I had no idea."

"Yeah, anyway, Weaslette cornered me about Hermione--"

"I'm pretty sure 'Weaselette' has a name Draco," she said with a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.

He rolled his eyes. "Okay Ginny cornered me. She made Potter go get her some water--she wouldn't let him conjure it either. She actually made him leave the room to get her water. She has that man wrapped around her finger I swear. Anyway, I asked about Hermione and she suggested that I get in touch with her..." He looked up at Pansy to see how she would respond.

"Yeah and…?"

"And what do you think?"

"Draco, I've been telling you to get in touch with her for the last four years. Of course you should contact her!"

He laughed as he sipped his drink. "I'm not sure how to go about it though--"

"Are you daft? Send her an owl, visit her at work, talk to Ginny; The options are endless! Sometimes I don't know why I bother with a tosser like you. Come on, the lunch hour is almost over."

They got up and headed back to St.Mungo's. The entire afternoon, Draco was distracted by thoughts of Hermione. He wondered if she would even want to see him. Right before he left to go home, a snowy owl came flying into the window with a letter for him

Draco,

It was nice to see you today! Thanks again for setting up the appointment with the midwife. To thank you, my husband and I would like to invite you to dinner at our home this upcoming Sunday evening. A certain witch of interest will also be in attendance. I expect to see you there and thank you in advance for accepting this invitation. See you Sunday at 6:00pm sharp! We live at 12 Grimmauld Place in London.

Sincerely,

Ginny Potter

Draco chuckled at her forwardness as he quickly scribbled a reply and gave it to the owl before he headed out the door. 'That was one problem solved' he thought to himself as he floo'd to his flat. 'I must remember to bring Ginny Potter some flowers for her kindness.'

Harry stood in the kitchen finishing up dinner while he waited for his wife to wake up from her nap. She had walked into the house after spending the day with Hermione, sent a letter with their owl Gypsy and promptly passed out on the couch after she threw on one of his old quidditch shirts. Just when he was about to go wake her up, Gypsy came in the open window with a letter. He didn't usually read mail that was addressed to Ginny, but something about the seal on this letter made him open it.

Mrs. Potter

Thank you for the invitation, if you could call it an invitation since you have already accepted for me I will be at yours promptly at 6:00pm on Sunday. Please let me know if you would like me to bring anything. Thanks again and see you Sunday.

Draco Malfoy

Healer, St.Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries.

Harry looked up from the letter just as Ginny was walking into the kitchen.

"What did you do Ginny?" he asked in a stern voice, holding out the letter.

She froze and looked at him sheepishly. "Harry, honey," she started as she wrapped her arms around his neck and looked up at him with her big, brown eyes.

"I'm just trying to help Hermione find as much happiness as I have found with you." She batted her eyelashes at him, clearly trying to prevent him lecturing her.

He smiled against his will. It was really hard for him to stay mad at her; He was head over heels in love with her. And the way she was walking around with her fiery red hair cascading down her back wearing only his t-shirt, he could barely keep himself from taking her right there in the kitchen.

"Okay Ginny," he sighed.

"Just don't expect me to rescue you from Hermione's wrath. You remember what happened last time you tried to set her up."

She scowled at him after placing a kiss on his cheek. "Well that was different! Seamus was just a placeholder. How was I supposed to know he was in love with Dean?!"

"You weren't supposed to know I guess...considering he didn't know himself," he replied as he sat down at the table.

"So what do you think, Harry?" she asked, sitting down next to him.

"What do I think about what, Ginny?"

"Hermione and Draco?"

"What is there to think about?" he laughed.

"She hasn't seen him in four years. I expect she'll be irritated with you for ambushing her but she might be happy to see her old friend."

She pushed her food around with her fork while she stared out the window, thinking. Harry pulled her out of her chair and into his lap, interrupting her thoughts.

"I do have some thoughts on my wife's behavior today though."

Ginny looked at him as innocently as she possibly could. "I don't know what you're talking about Harry."

He smiled at her and gave her a chaste kiss.

"I'm talking about the fact that we found out we're having a baby today and you've been so wrapped up in your meddling that we haven't been able to celebrate it."

Her eyes went wide. "I completely forgot! Oh my goodness!" She stood up and pulled Harry with her.

"We have to get to my mother's NOW. Oh my goodness she's going to kill me!" She pulled Harry towards the fireplace.

He laughed and pulled her back into his arms. "What are you doing Harry?! She's going to be furious that she wasn't the first to know!"

"Ginny, I understand the urgency, but don't you think you ought to put on some pants first?"

Sunday afternoon, Hermione was getting dressed for dinner with Harry and Ginny.

She knew something was up, she just didn't know what. Ginny had just told her to dress nice because they were having a dinner celebrating her pregnancy. Surely Ginny wasn't planning on trying to set her up again after the disaster that had occurred a few years prior with Seamus.

She only hoped that Ron and his fiancee wouldn't be there. It wasn't so much that she minded him and Padma Patil being together, it was just that Padma was so sickeningly sweet to her, in a very condescending way.

Hermione knew it was because Padma felt sorry for her and she hated when people pitied her.

Ron and Padma had become close during a Dumbledore's Army reunion party that Neville insisted on having the summer after they graduated from Hogwarts.

At some point they ended up going home together and nine months later they had a son, little Ravi Weasley. As much as Padma irritated her, Hermione loved Ravi to bits and she often babysat him.

Ron and Padma had gotten engaged back in September and were planning for a wedding the following summer.

Hermione sighed as she gave up trying to tame her hair and pulled it into a low bun with a few tendrils left out to frame her face.

She slipped into the little black cocktail dress she had taken out earlier. It was a simple, babydoll dress that fitted at the top and flared out from her waist, stopping slightly above her knees.

She put on some simple black heels and some diamond stud earrings and checked her watch; It was 6:05pm, Ginny had told her to arrive at 6:15.

She wandered around her flat looking for something to do for about five minutes before deciding that Ginny would be okay with her showing up early and heading to her fireplace.

"Gin, I know you said to be here at 6:15 but I couldn't wait any long--" Hermione looked up as she exited the fireplace at Grimmauld Place and froze mid sentence, gaping at Ginny and the tall, blonde man she was talking to.
