A/N: The second of three AUs I plan on writing for Requiem For a Wild Cat. This one shot is the worst-case scenario AU. After this one, there's the swapped AU.

On the night of the school musical, there was a car accident with two people in this production.

The driver lasted longer than people expected. The driver, Noah Redonovich, had already lost so much blood. The doctors did as much as they could, but he bled out. If the paramedics had come a few moments earlier, he could have lived.

The other passenger was dead before they even got there. They announced Ashlyn Caswell dead once they arrived.

The other driver got out with minor injuries. However, they suspected she'll be in jail for a long time. It's funny how the world works sometimes. The one who caused the pain and suffering is the one who gets to live.

The other wild cats just went through the motions for the rest of the school year. No one was living. Ms. Jen couldn't even rally the troops. She briefly considered leaving the position, but she knew she couldn't. Not when her kids needed her.

The other wild cats felt they were going insane. In the dead of night, or when they were alone, they could've sworn they felt gentle arms wrap around them. They couldn't help but feel at peace for a few moments. Of course, the peace didn't last forever. They'd have to move on eventually.
