Gajeel had always regarded Juvia as his little sister. She was the only person he bonded with after Metalicana's disappearance. Like him, she was alone and found it difficult to got closer to others. He immediately felt the need to protect her.

He Will Always Protect Her

Gajeel came up to Juvia. She was dancing with Gray and she was radiant in her wedding dress.

"Can I dance with the bride ?" he asked.

Gray smiled and nodded. He walked away and joined Erza who asked him for a dance. Gajeel took Juvia in his arms and they danced slowly.

"How are you, Mrs. Fullbuster ?"

A huge smile lit up Juvia's face.

"Juvia has never been so happy."

Gajeel could not help smiling. It was the first time he had seen her this way. He was happy for her. He had always regarded Juvia as his little sister. She was the only person he bonded with after Metalicana's disappearance. Like him, she was alone and found it difficult to got closer to others. He immediately felt the need to protect her. When Bora had broken her heart, he had to intervene and make him regret hurting her.

It was thanks to Juvia that he had joined Fairy Tail and had met Levy. He had immediately noticed that Juvia had fallen in love with Gray. He had to be blind not to see his friend's feelings. Gajeel was worried. Her feelings for Gray seemed unrequited and he feared that Juvia would suffer again. He knew her inside out and when she loved someone, she could be extreme in her feelings. He did not know Gray enough to know how he was going to react to Juvia.

He saw their relationship change. He saw Juvia trying to get closer to Gray and the ice mage slowly opening up to her. Something had changed during the year the guild was disbanded. Juvia and Gray had lived together for six months and Gray's behavior had changed. Gajeel felt like he was finally ready to confess his feelings for Juvia. When he returned from the 100 Years Quest, he told Juvia he loved her, they dated and they got married.

As the years went by, Gajeel had seen the woman Juvia had become and seeing her happy was what he wished for her.

The dance ended. Gajeel kissed her cheek and he walked towards Levy and their twins. Even if Gray was there for Juvia, Gajeel would continue to protect her.
