"O Derek let me take a look at that bite mark before it gets infected." I told him taking a hand towel from the kitchen and wetting it wipe the blood away.
"Mom bit us both it like she is sick or something. You have to help her." Derek told me.
"i will why don't you show me where she is." I told Derek as I followed him over to the stairs.
"Matt try and take care of her while I'm gone." I told him motioning towards Suzy who was still holding her arm crying.
"Okay Derek show me the way and we will get you and your mom so help. Matt will look after your sister while we are gone." i told him following him up the stairs.
"She is in the master at the end of the hall." Derek started to tell me.
I waited until we were walking down the hall way with Derek in the lead before I took my knife out quietly and killed him from behind. It was just how I wanted it I didn't want him to see it coming because then he time to be scared. I didn't want him to feel scared as he died so I killed him when he was least expecting it. I caught him as he dropped so he didn't make to much noise. i got to the master bedroom and opened the door quickly before stepping back. Mrs. Baker was running into the wall by the bathroom. I shot her with an arrow quickly not caring if she made noise hitting the ground. I opened their closet and started to get all the ammo that they had that in the bottom of the closet.
I knew it was there since I had went with Mr. Baker to pick out since I knew a lot about guns and ammo. I out all 5 boxes into my bag before grabbing his leather jacket since I knew that it would fit Dean. I folded it up before sticking most of it in my bag leaving some of it hanging out. I went back down stairs to find Matt had killed little Suzy who looked to have turned while I was gone. He grabbed the box of canned and boxed goods that they had waiting on the counter like I had told them two. I went through the rest of the house making sure that their wasn't any other walkers that had gotten in to the house just to be safe and knew we might come back for the rest of supplies later.
I smiled at him and went over to the front door to make sure it was clear before exiting and letting Matt go first so that I could guard him since his hands were full. Once back safe at the Rv I knocked on the door and waited for Dean to open it and Matt went in first with the food and I knew that Dean knew that they were dead. I shut the door behind us locking it and took the box from Matt and had him go wash his hands and used arrows while I put the food up. Dean followed me into the storage room cracking the door.
"Mr. and Mrs Bell and The whole Baker family is dead we killed them. The Bell's have some supplies we might want to grab before we leave." I told Dean.
"Okay I will grab some boxes and head that way." Dean told me as he grabbed some boxes that were empty in a pile beside one of the shelves.
"Do you want me to come with you as a guard." I asked him.
"No stay here with them they aren't use to having the dead walking yet." Dean told me kissing me as he went to get a couple boxes.
"I will stay here with Sam and Ethan. Sam and I could start on one of his books while you and Matt are gone." I told Dean.
I nodded at Dean before going to get Sam and Ethan. I took Ethan who had been playing on the floor for a while now to the bedroom to give him a bottle before his nap. I kissed Dean and Matt before they left and closed the Rv door behind them. I took Ethan's bottle out of the fridge and Ethan out of his bouncer into the bedroom. I was feeding Ethan his bottle while Sam played on the X-box in the living room. I stopped and burped Ethan before giving him the rest of his bottle and burping him again. I rocked Ethan for about 10 minuets before he fell asleep in my arms. I laid Ethan down in his crib before going into the living room to get Sam.
I sent Sam ahead but made sure he was quiet to pick out a book for us to read together. He loved me reading to him as he listen to it. I did it with Matt and Sam planned on doing it with Ethan to. I turned off the x-box and Tv before going to the bedroom. Sam had picked out a Magic Tree House book. It was Valley of The Dinosaurs the first one in the series Dean had bought the whole series while getting supplies. I was about three chapters in when Sam fell asleep on me so I put a book mark in the book and closed the book putting it back in the cubby that held Sam's books. Right about that time the door to the Rv opened and Dean came in carrying two boxes and Matt one over flowing with supplies.
They took it to the storage room and started to organize the supplies on the shelf. I went to help and we got it all done in about 20 minuets. I then went and opened two cans of vegetable soup and put it in a pan on the stove to warm up while Matt took a shower and got changed since their was blood on his shirt. I added some salt and pepper to the soup as it heated up on the stove top. I grabbed Eight crackers for Dean, six for Me, Four for Matt, and Two for Sam crackers in the bottom of a bowel crumbled up before adding mostly Vegetables to each bowl and a little soup. I added two more crackers to each bowel as we were sitting down so we had a good lunch.
Dean came out of the bedroom followed by Sam and Matt who were awake and hungry from the smell of food. Checking on the Bakers had turned into killing them and the Bell's next door took longer than expected so it was now almost one and we were still here at the house. Ethan picked that time to wake up from his small nap that I had put him down to tide him over until Dean and Matt got back before feeding him his lunch along with everyone else. I put Ethan in his high chair at the table before sitting down with my food waiting on Dean, and Matt to eat. Sam had also woken up to the smell of food and came to eat with us.
I was done quickly with my food and I handed the dishes to Matt to clean, dry and put back in the cabinet while Dean finished up feeding Ethan. I could tell that Ethan wasn't huge fan of the apple and kale mixture since he was barley eating but he was eating it so that was a good sign. I resined out the other half of the jar and put the lid on the empty jar putting it in a drawl for homemade baby food later. I gave him another half jar of plain apple sauce and he quickly and happily ate it as fast as I could get the food in his mouth. I put the other half in the fridge for a time he had a flavor he didn't like this. I burped Ethan good before changing his diaper since we are getting on the road now.
"Sam go to the Bathroom we are leaving in 5 so get seated." I told him buckling Ethan in his carseat.
"Okay mom but will you read me my book while Daddy drives." Sam asked me doing his puppy dog eyes.
"Yeah go get it and the one that comes next in the series." I told him knowing i would fly through the book.
After Sam got done using the bathroom I grabbed two bottles putting one in each pocket of his packed diaper bag. The bottles were ready all you had to do was add water. I grabbed Sam's books putting them in my bug out bag. I had already put the boys bug out bags in the truck so I grabbed my bug out bag and bow before picking Ethan up out of his bouncer putting him on my hip. Dean was waiting at the door for us as he kept guard while we got to and in the truck. I turned off all the lights to the Rv before going to get in the truck. I put Ethan who was in the middle seat with Sam behind Dean and Matt behind me with both my bags and bow in my floor board.
Dean hung his bow up on the hook behind my seat that he could reach quick and easy if needed to my bow was at my feed ready to as well. I watched as Sam passed Matt the remote to the Tv and it turned on to NCIS season 1 episode 1 which gave us five hours before it needed to be changed. Matt helped Sam putting on his seat belt after passing me Sam's two books and getting in his seat and putting on his belt. I reached and put a pacifier in Ethan's mouth and nodded at Dean which told him we were ready to go. The dogs stayed in the Rv knowing to lay down since they done it before.
"We ready to go Dean." I told him.
We were on the road probably an hour before the emergency channel announced that safe zones were being put up in every major city and then started to list the cities near us with a safe zone. It went on how each member of the family had to have a social security card or birth Certificate to get in as well as pass a clean bill of heath. Each family member was allowed one bag clothes and children one bag of toys that would be scanned for anything dangerous. I had everyone's information in the glove box. I had put it there when all this started so we were set should we have to go to a safe zone but we didn't plan on it. They had to many people and all it was one to turn and ruin the whole thing.
I started to read Sam his book which lasted an hour before he was bored and wanted to watch tv with Matt. I marked the spot before closing the book and putting it in the pocket on the side of my seat for now. I had the map out and was giving directions when Dean slowly stopped and was looking at the highway. It had now been about 45 minuets since the announcement was made the highway for about 5 miles out from Atlanta was full all three lanes cars were bumper to bumper and not moving at all. I pointed to a side road for us to take.
"Turn right here we can by pass all this mess." I told Dean.
We drove for another hour before pulling over so that Dean could take a break and feed Ethan while I took over driving. I wanted to get to the quarry before dark and get set up we had about 3 and a half hours until the sun set. I drove us for another hour before Sam was complaining of having to use the bathroom so I pulled over and parked in a local Vet office. I went and changed Ethan's diaper while Sam went to the bathroom. Dean got out a small bag of fruit that he had cut up the earlier that morning for us to snack on since we would be eating late. We sat there eating our sliced apples since we each had a small ziplock of an apple cut up.
Getting around all the traffic seemed to be tough since we were trying to go around the city to the quarry but we got mixed up in the traffic going to the city. Back roads helped but only so much. it was getting dark as we pulled into the quarry where we saw a tent already there camping out at the edge of the woods. I pulled the Rv over to one side of the woods but we were still a good bit aways from the tent with two men in it. I grabbed my bow as did Matt but I stopped him and shook my head. I took Ethan from Dean as I passed him his bow and he exited the Rv. I got out as well making sure they could see me standing there with a baby in my arms.
Dean stood talking to the two brothers for about 20 minuets before they nodded and agreed on something before Dean came back over to the Rv where I was starting to put the awning down. I also let the dogs out to go to the bathroom and I had a flashlight as I kept the light on where they were sticking close to Lady their mom who was staying near the Rv. She stopped and peed on one of the Rv tires marking her spot before going and pooping in the grass. River and Hunter followed her lead but each picked different tires to pee on. I called them back when they got to close the other tent and they came running when called.
I put their locator GPS Collars on them so we could find them if they went into the woods. I let them back in the Rv while Dean started on warming up the last of the Chili we had was being turned into Chili dogs for Matt and Sam, and Chili cheese fries for Me, While Dean was going to eat plain chili again. It wasn't hard the hot dogs and fries had been our planned out meal but Me and Dean didn't want hot dogs so I would only fix them for the boys and fries were already being made for the boys so it all worked out well. I was outside with Lady as I got the Rv set up. I opened up all the pop outs and was checking everything over to make sure everything was in order after such a long drive.
I checking the water level when I felt like I was being watched and Lady started to growl at something behind me. I turned around to find the younger of the brothers watching me with his crossbow in front of him that he was cleaning. I clicked my mouth and Lady sat and still kept watching the guy closely. We had more water than I thought we did so that was good but after showers for both the younger boys tonight we would need to boil more water from the quarry tomorrow. I went and poked my head in the RV to grab Matt but he was taking a shower since he hadn't had time earlier like I had planned. So I got Sam helps instead and I brought Lady with us to go out to the woods to get fire wood.
I was tasked with getting fire wood while Dean got supper cooking before he went to find some stones from down by the lake. Matt would stay and watch Ethan though so it all worked out. I handed Sam the flashlight and box to carry to put the wood in. I found a tree that was already laying down so I took the ax that I had carried with me and started to chop the fallen tree up into pieces. I had got half the tree cut up in small chucks and filled the box up half way with bigger pieces of wood. Sam got some smaller sticks and some pine straw to help start the fire were about to head back when Lady started to growl at something behind me I turned and saw 5 walkers stumbling towards me and Sam.
I looked and watched as they got closer and I reached for my bow but remembered that I had left it at the Rv so all I had was my hunting knife and ax to take down all 5 walkers. i knew that I had to protect Sam and Lady thought the same thing since she hunched down and started to bark loudly getting the walkers attention and everyone's back at camp. I grabbed Sam by the arm leaving the box of wood on the ground where it was and turned off the flashlight so now all the focused on was Lady barking but they knew me and Sam were there and seemed to want us. I turned to Sam who looked scared and didn't know what to do so I made him face me as I talked to him.
"Sam look at me Camp is a straight shot over that hill and through the tress. I want you to run as fast as you can Lady is going with you and she will lead you home." I told him kissing him on the head.
"Lady take Sam home." I told her knowing she knew what I meant by home.
I waited until they were half way up the hill before running off to the left to draw the walkers away and thank god they followed. I got them to spread out and took that to my advantage I killed the one that was farthest back, then the rest of them after making a small circle of scent. I whacked him in the brain with the ax killing him. I put my boot on his head as I yanked the ax out of his head and took off running some more. I only ran about 10 tress down before killing the next lost walker of the group. I was about to kill the third one when the fourth one grabbed me as it was shot in the brain with a bolt. I quickly knifed the third walker with my knife as crossbow guy shot the last one quickly.
I thanked him as I walked back over to where the box of wood was sitting and bent down picking back up and carried it back to camp. Sam was standing beside an Rv with Matt who was gearing up to leave but Dean wouldn't let him. I heard Lady bark and run towards me as she reached me she ran circles around me making me laugh as Dean took the box of wood from behind me before kissing me and pulling me into a hug. I walked over to where the chairs were set up in front of the Rv and sat down. I turned to see that Sam still looked worried and scared so I decided to have a talk with him about what had happened in the woods.
"Sam come here buddy." I called him over.
"Yes mommy." he asked nervous.
"You did such a good job out there you didn't scream and run but you listen and did what mommy told you to do. That means that you can start helping out more with the important tasks like Matt does." I told him as I pulled him into a hug.
"Why don't we go eat and get ready for the night." Dean said opening the Rv door for us.
I dropped the box off wood off at the entrance the Rv off to the side. I took the box of big stones and Rocks that Dean had found and I took them out away from the Rv some but still under the awning. I built a small campfire area before adding some fire wood to the inside campfire area. I then took off my gloved and put them back inside the bedroom with my things, before washing them and joining everyone at the table. We ate as a family and since we were eating late Dean had already fed Ethan his bottle and jar of baby food and he was sitting up playing in the floor with his toys and Lady was watching him closely.
I did the dishes after we ate. I washed them in the sink and dried them off before putting them back in the cabinet where they belong. Then I took Ethan and gave him a bath before putting a clean diaper and PJs on him. Sam took a shower next and I laid out PJs for him to put on when he got out as well. I was sitting on the floor with Ethan between my legs and Lady was one side of me with her head on my leg and River was playing with a toy on the other side.
When Sam got out of the shower we let the dogs out while he and Matt agreed on a movie. I remembered to take my bow this time as I walked the dogs over to edge of the woods to pee. I herd rustling to the left of me and turned to find Merle watching me. He took a step towards me and all three dogs appeared and put themselves between me and him as they growled at him making him back up surprised. I smiled at him as I clicked my mouth twice making them sit down on command. I petted Lady who closed to me on the head as she growl at Merle until he backed up a couple more steps.
"Let's go home." I told the dogs as River took off leading the way and Hunter followed but Lady waited until I started walking and walked beside me the whole way back to the Rv.
Dean was standing at the Rv door with it opened waiting on me and Lady since River and Hunter was already inside. I smiled at him as I climbed the steps of the Rv and kissed him as I walked by him. I could still feel the eyes on me but I choose to ignore them as I closed the Rv door and locking it. Matt and Sam had picked out Croods for us to watch. I sat down on the floor between Dean's legs and Ethan was a sleep in my arms as the movie started. About 20 minuets In I got up and took Ethan to bed. i laid him down in his crib tummy down with his head to the right of him. I know most doctors recommend putting them on their backs but he sleeps better on his stomach so that's where he slept mostly.
I cracked the door as I left so the movie wouldn't wake him. Joined Dean on the couch when I got noticing he had moved as Sam had moved to laid down on his stomach on the floor. Matt was at the booth table watching from there since he didn't want to sit on the floor. He often sat there instead of on the floor. I wasn't worried at all. We watched the whole movie having a good time until it was over and Sam was clearly falling a sleep so I carried him to bed while Dean turned everything off. Matt had gone to bed about half way through the movie since he was tired. Me and Dean turned off everything and we headed to bed ourselves.
I laid in Dean's arms and we talked for about an hour before Dean fell asleep on me and I was about to go to sleep but Ethan woke up crying. It was strange because he still had a couple hours before his was due to eat again. I got up and smelled his dirty diaper so I took him out of his crib and went to change his diaper. I turned the small desk lap that Dean had installed on the wall above Ethan's changing table for me to use when he needed a diaper change in the middle of the night. I got his diaper changed and it looked like Ethan wasn't going back to sleep but I wanted to try. I fed him half a bottle to get him sleepy as I rocked him back and forth.
Ethan dozed off again so I gently set him down in his crib and went to the bathroom. I went to bed afterwards and fell asleep quickly after that and didn't dream of all thing at all. I guess Dean got up and fed Ethan since the next time I woke up Dean was holding Ethan in one arm while warming up a bottle in the other. I looked at the time and it was only 5:00 so it was around the time for his feeding but he seemed to not be sleeping as well last night as he usually did. I got up and took Ethan from Dean so he could go hunting for breakfast. Matt was starting to stir with all the motion in the bedroom.
I smiled at him as he sleepily woke up to me grabbing Ethan's blanket, a clean onesies, diaper, and wipes before leaving the room not wanting to wake up Sam. I wrapped Ethan in his blanket to keep him warm while I fed him his bottle. I was half way through when Dean and Matt came out of the bedroom dressed in clothes and ready to go squirrel and rabbit hunting.
"Hey Dean can you take Ethan and give him the rest of his bottle while I get dressed. And take River with you she needs to get rid of some energy. I will take Hunter hunting tonight for supper." I told Dean.
"Sure babe, come here little man." Dean told me as he turned to Ethan talking to him as well.
I went and got dressed in bra and boxer shorts on bottom then a tee-shirt went on next with a pair of pants. I laid out some clothes for Sam he got jeans he wore a couple days ago that need to be worn again before being washed. I laid out a cute tee shirt for Sam out on the foot board of his bed for when he got up later. I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth and hair before braiding it and putting it up in a bun. I went to find Matt was snacking on a left over hot dog while Dean burped Ethan.
"Okay little man how about we try and get you back to sleep." I told Ethan as I took him from Dean.
I opened the fridge and grabbed me small soda out of the fridge to wake me up since I was up early. I watched as Dean, Matt and River disappeared into the trees before sticking Blindspot for me to watch while I waited for the hunting party to return. I held a sleeping Ethan against my chest as he slept and I watched two episodes of Blindspot before Sam wondered out of the bedroom looking for food so I spilt a pop-tart with him. I restarted the tv seres for Sam so he could watch with me. He ended up really liking the series. I shifted Ethan so he was laying on the couch between two pillows so that I could move around.
"Sam take your brother to the clearing get out from under all the trees now. Lady and Hunter will protect you now go." I yelled at him as I jumped into action.
It was about that time that we heard a sound I wished to never hear again. Bombs were being dropped. I grabbed Ethan and Sam by the arm dragging him out of the Rv. I passed Ethan to Sam and told him and the dogs to get away from under the tress as I stayed and grabbed us shoes and jackets. I also grabbed Ethan's diaper bag and my bug-out bag that was by the door. I reached for blanket that was folded up on the end of one of the beds as well for us to sit on. I knew that Dean and Matt would be wrapping up hunting now that they heard the commotion.
"Here Sam put this on buddy it will help keep you warm." I told him taking Ethan from him and passing him his jacket.
Sam put his shoes on first as well as his jacket as I laid the blanket out on the ground for him to sit on. I put my boots and jacket on as well before joining him. Lady wrapped around Me and Ethan while Hunter did the same for Sam. I passed Ethan to Sam who happily took him while I grabbed some firewood from the box that we had gathered the night before and started a small fire to help keep us warm. It was about that time that Hunter started to bark at the tent that held the Dixon brothers or at least that is what Dean called them.
Merle looked high as a kite but he stumbled out of their tent just as Daryl was skinning their breakfast. They looked shocked to see so many of us out. I passed Sam his coloring book and crayons from my bug out bag to keep him entertained while we waited for the bombs to finish dropping. they dropped at least enough to level a whole city which meant the safe zone must have fallen and this was their attempt to contain the virus. Which didn't work since you weren't killing the brain of everyone in the city it was just creating more walkers for us to kill.
Hunter gave off another loud bark towards the tent and I saw that Daryl had gotten up and started to move around some so I walked over there with the dogs following me. I notice that Merle like me had dog tags around his neck. I had dog tags made for my children as well so that they could be ID easily. Sam and Matt both had theirs on already Ethan would get his around the age of 1. I reached their small camp quickly and they didn't look to happy that I was over there to begin with but I didn't care.
"Hello I'm Katie this Sam and Ethan. Matt our oldest went hunting with Dean my husband earlier. I just wanted to introduced myself and tell that all three of our dogs are trained well so if they start bugging you tell them to go home and they will." I told the brothers before walking off.
"Well Damn isn't she a sugar tits." Merle told his brother standing up
"I'm Merle and this is my younger brother Daryl" Merle told me.
"I heard that Merle and don't think I won't drop you before you know what's happening. I was military for 10 years don't think I won't kick your old ass." I called over my shoulder.
It had been almost 20 minuets since the last bombed dropped so I thought it was safe to go back inside so I gathered up our things and took the younger boys back inside. I let the dogs stay outside and run around some knowing that they wouldn't go far. I heard Merle yelling at one of the dogs and I went to look out the window to find Hunter sitting in front of Merle waiting on him to finish cutting his rabbit. I laughed and opened the door to the Rv and step out of the Rv leaving Sam watching Tv while I carried Ethan in his sling that I had got out to hold him so my hands were free.
"He wants the guts to rabbit but he knows better than to try and steal it." I yelled over to him as I put the fire out.
"Hunter, Lady come home." I called making both dogs come running towards me.
I took them back in the Rv with me and heard the tress rustling so I grabbed my bow that was hanging by the door. But when I saw that Matt and Dean were coming back with several rabbits. I put it back. Matt had 4 rabbits while Dean had 3 squirrels and it looked like they had already gutted them in the woods by the red smear around River's mouth. Dean stopped at the edge of camp and pulled out a small bag that held guts for the other two dogs who were running around him waiting on him to give them the guts.
