I was up early the next morning careful not to wake Dean or the boys up and took a shower and by the time I got out Dean was up with Ethan. Dean had Ethan's diaper and clothes changed for me already. I got dressed and brushed my teeth and hair before putting it up in a bun. I laid out clothes for both Matt and Sam to wear. I also got all the dirty clothes together before I took them to laundry area in the was across from where the medical supply cabinet was and beside the couch. I started a load of dirty clothes and put the next load beside the washer.
Dean had started on some eggs and squirrel meat. I ate my portion of the breakfast before making the boys plates and grabbing some Pear and pineapple baby food laying it out on the counter for Ethan to be fed once he and Dean got out of the shower. I left a note on the fridge before I grabbed my bow an arrow and bug out bag. I grabbed all three dogs before leaving. I made sure to have my gun and hunting knife as well before leaving. I notice that as I got out of the Rv Shane was sleeping on watch as i locked the Rv door back up. That mistake would get him killed one day and it would be sooner than later. Any body could tell that falling asleep on watch was just as bad as standing in the middle of gun fire.
"Let go hunt." I told the dogs and they all three took off to the woods.
I pass Daryl who was also getting ready to hunt and Hunter stopped at his feet and got a pat on the head before he got up and walked towards the woods with me. In the woods I straight and Daryl went left in the woods so we would both be able to get some animals. I skilled two fat and juice squirrels and the dogs raced each other to fetch them for me. Hunter and River ended up bring me back the kills that still had the arrows threw them. I took the arrows out before putting the meat in the bag that was tied around my waist that I put there for the game I caught. I put the arrow back in my fletch with the other ones after wiping them off.
I checked the traps that Matt and Dean had put out the day before. I had to watch Hunter and River around the traps because I didn't want them stepping or getting caught in them. I ended up with 5 small rabbits out of the traps. I put the the meat in the bag before stopping about half way back to kill four more good size Squirrels. I skinned and gutted all the animals about half way back in the woods so that I wouldn't attract wild animals or walkers back to the camp area. I could tell that this is where Daryl usually skinned his animals based on the recent food prints
I opened my bag and got out an two empty tupperware one for Rabbit meat and one Squirrels meat. I gave each dog a whole rabbit that the bad guts had been take out of it. I put the two full tupperware bowls full of meat back into my bag before heading back to the Rv. The dogs follow each carrying the fat and plump rabbit that I had given them. When I exited the woods I felt eyes on me and looked up to see Shane glaring at me as headed my way to met me half way towards the house. Lori of course had a satisfied look on her face which meant this couldn't be nothing good. I was really getting tired of this guy already and he hadn't even been here two days yet.
"Hey wait hold up." Shane called at me causing Lady who had already ate her rabbit start growling at him as he got to close to me.
"What can I do for you Shane I have kids to feed." I told him stopping.
"You can't just wonder into the woods by yourself it's not safe out there and it's my job to keep the whole group safe. I can't do that if people are wondering off alone." shane told me trying to pull the women shouldn't leave camp.
"I have a two questions for you Shane. One are going to confront Daryl about going hunting to or is it just me and Second are you aware of Ed raising a hand to hit children." I asked and by the look on his face the answer was no.
"Okay you not answering told me everything I needed to know. It's not my fault that you were sleeping on watch nor is it that you think just because I'm a woman i can't be just as strong or good a hunter as a man. Lastly If Ed raises a hand to my son again we are going to have a huge problem that going to end up with someone dead." I told Shane before waling over to the Rv door where the dogs were waiting to go in.
"O and Shane Me and Dean are going to come see you after breakfast about making a supply run for the group so don't let Glenn run off before than." I told him over my shoulder as I unlocked the Rv door and letting the dogs.
"Momma you back." Sam cried running over to hug me.
"See Sam I told you there was nothing to worry about that she had just gone hunting." Dean told him softly as he fed Ethan his baby food.
I smiled as I took out both of the tupperware full of meat I grabbed a roll of tape and put a piece of tape on top of each tupperware and wrote with a sharpie what they where before handing them to Dean to put in the freezer for winter. I washed my hands real good before sitting down with the boys while they ate and took over feeding Ethan his Pear and pineapple baby food. He was loving these flavors. I finished up feed Ethan his baby food and picked him up to burp him as some one knocked on the Rv door.
I rolled my eyes as I walked over to the door with Ethan in my arms. I was still trying to burp him as I opened the door to find Glenn standing there. Ethan finally did burp but spit us some on his out fit so I told Glenn to wait there while I changed his outfit. Glenn looked kind of shocked but just stood there waiting on me. I changed Ethan into a pair of jeans and cut blue shirt. I then grabbed his diaper bag and my weapons I put Ethan on my hip and let him chew on one of his toys. I was about to close the Rv door but Lady barked at me to come along.
"Come on then." I told her opening the Rv for her before closing it behind her
"Yeah Glenn let me grab a couple chairs and we can sit." I told him opening up one of hatches and pulling out two fold up chairs.
I handed Glenn a chair as I sat down and put Ethan on my lap and Lady came up and sat beside me putting her head on my lap beside Ethan's feet so he played with his toy and her ears and She didn't mind at all. Glenn looked nervous like he didn't want to be here but after we talked about what we did before the dead started walking and family he loosen up some. I knew by looking at Glenn that he was going to be a good addition to the group but he had a problem saying no to people but he would grow out of that sooner or later. Now that he was more comfortable around me I got to main reason of wanting to meet him.
"So Glenn the reason I wanted to meet with you was because Shane is pushing for supplies so we figure if he got some he would leave Dean alone for a bit. There is a small camping store about 10 minuets from here so there should be enough camping supplies for everyone here that doesn't have anything. Tents, sleeping bags, cookware, lanterns, flashlights, some food, water, and first aid supplies, and maybe some clothes if we are lucky. I'm willing to go and so is Dean but Shane won't trust just us plus we aren't doing all the work if we can't keep any of." I told him laying it all out.
"Okay so I guess you want me to go to. I have to go to the city to get food, soap, deodorant, shampoo, tampons, toys, school supplies." Glenn listed off a list of supplies that he got from his pocket.
"Glenn the city is a lost cause one time your going to go and get caught then your no use to us. Go on my supply run and find out me and Dean have a few tricks up our sleeves." I told him not letting him know about the small grocery store we knew about.
"Glenn trust me this trip you will get almost everything you are looking for and more." I told him hinting that there was more than I was telling.
"Oaky but how are we going to get I had to leave my car last time." Glenn asked.
"Me and Dean have a truck we can take but their is some things that Me and my family need and we are going to get them and you won't tell Shane about it. In the long run you gain allies and somewhere to go when we have to leave this place because be honest with your self Glenn if the whole country is like this it won't be over in a few month or a few years maybe a few decades if we are really lucky. We can't stay here that long we are to close to the city and to open here sooner or latter we will have to leave here" I told him and that surprised him
"Shane says that the military will get everything under control in a few weeks." Glenn told me.
"Glenn I use to be Army their is no way they would bomb that city full of people until they were totally out of options." I told Glenn.
"Okay I will trust you and even lie for you but I won't kill for you." Glenn told.
"Glenn if someone needs killing I will do it myself." I told him as I passed him a second gun that i had brought out of the Rv.
"This is yours now rather you are with me and Dean or not it's yours and later when we are not being watched I will give you what me and my family call a bug out bag. It has 5 days worth of food and water, a change of clothes, ammo, first aid kit, hunting knife, string, and a flashlight. That is also yours to keep we carry our bug out bags with us every time we leave the Rv along with our weapons even my son Sam who is 5 carries a gun and hunting knife as protection." I told him as I got up and he did the same.
"Me and Dean will be ready in 5 minuets so go get what you need and try to keep that gun from Shane seeing because he will take it otherwise." I told Glenn going back in the Rv.
I went to the storage room and go a spare bug out bag that had everything but clothes that would fit Glenn in it. We had made a couple spare incase we lost the first couple or had to leave them behind. Dean looked at me surprised when I exited the storage room and locked it back up with the spare bug out bag. I handed him Ethan as I went to get Lady's harness for the trip. I found Matt in the living area working on some math problems from his school work.
"Matt, Me and your Dad are going on a supply run one of many to come your job is to watch your brothers and keep them safe. Soon as in the coming days you start to learn to drive so in a couple months you can drive the Rv incase you have to leave us behind. Anyways don't let any one in the Rv and don't leave it the dogs just came in from being outside so they are good." I told him kissing him as I stood up
"But mom why aren't I going to." Matt asks me.
"Matt your still just a kid plus I need someone I trust to watch your brothers and the Rv that holds all our supplies so you have the most important job of all." I told as Dean handed him Ethan.
I went to the safe and got a couple extra clips of ammo for me and Dean since we would be in unknown territory. I grabbed my bow putting it on along with the quiver of arrows. I grabbed my bug out bag and Dean did the same as he put a silencer on both our guns before handing me my gun back to me. I passed Dean his bug out bag which was really light so that we could get more supplies without weighing us down. I grabbed a couple boxes out of the closet to put supplies in as I left Matt my set of keys on the counter incase we didn't come back he could get into everything. I stacked the boxes inside each other so they were easier to carry.
But me and Dean had talked about this we promised each other that if one of us trapped the other would try and save each other but if danger was closing in and there was no way to get the other out or save them. The other would leave so the kids would still have one parent. Dean tossed me the keys to the truck as I got in the drivers seat and waited for Dean to give me to go ahead to back it off the trailer the Rv was pulling that held it. I waited on Dean to get in with Lady before driving to the old Rv that looked like it was falling apart. Glenn was waiting on us with the Black guy T-dog I think his name was who had a shot gun and a empty bag with him.
So Shane really didn't trust us with just Glenn or the supplies. I smiled as the climbed into the truck. I made Lady sit in the middle which she growled at me for but I just petted her head. Once everyone was in we drove off. I stopped at the road and switched seats with Dean and let Lady move to share the seat with me and she was happier this way. She could also stick her head out the window this way while Dean drove. Lady was a good all around dog she could hunt, track, guard, and detect on coming danger she was one of best dogs I ever had and her pups Hunter and River weren't far behind. They still had a lot to learn but they were getting there and were fast learners.
"Glenn this is the bag I promised you for you keeping quiet I has everything but clothes." I told him passing him a military back pack.
"T-dog I expect this back." I told him passing him a hunting knife so he had a quiet weapon.
"Now what Me and Dean failed to inform you about is by the hunting store their is a small grocery store that should be running on a generator and if it is me and Dean need some cold and frozen goods to get me and our kids through the winter and will get those goods even if we have to kill you to get them but of course that is a last resort. I was thinking more of bribery. We will let you take what you want from the store and we will do the same." I told them and they gave me nod in agreement.
"Good now Lady here listens to commands given to only me and Dean. If she starts barking or growling in one direction there is either walkers or humans there so listen if she starts making noise otherwise don't worry about her she is my problem." I told them.
I put Lady's harness on her and then put her protection boots on and she gave me a look but let me do it. I had her used to it when she was just 8 weeks old i started to but booties on her every couple days until she got use to wearing them and wouldn't fight you when you tried to put them on her or take them off once their own. We pulled up the hunting store and grocery store. I saw 5 walkers coming towards the truck. I rolled down my window and used my bow to take down all 5 of them with in seconds.
"Well Damn." T-dog said with Glenn agreeing with him.
"I know i'm good at it and it took me years to be this good." I told them getting out of the truck after rolling the window back up.
"Me and Glenn will do the grocery store since he knows what the group wants." I told them handing Glenn a stack of empty boxes.
I went straight to the cold section and one fridge still working and it had some milk, eggs, and bacon in it. I opened the first cooler and put 5 cartons of 12 eggs in it before using the other bigger cooler to fit 4 gallon milks and 2 quarts of milk in it. I added the ice that wasn't melted to both of them. I was able to squeeze 10 packs of bacon around the milk and eggs. I moved the cooler to the back of the truck putting them in the bed of the truck but covered them up with a tarp so it looked like they belonged. I went back inside and grabbed 4 whole boxes of mixed jars of baby food getting flavors I knew that Ethan liked like Apple, Pears, Peas, Sweet Potato, Banana, Blueberries, and anything involving theses flavors.
i stayed away for the meat and fish jars of baby food knowing that he didn't like them at all. I put 10 packs of Oreos family size cookies in one box before adding boxes of popcorn on top of them along with gummies and granola bars. I used the next 5 box to put canned goods and took these boxes out to the truck putting them under the tarp also and I was done except the medicine section. I filled half a box up with different first aid supplies then the rest with medicine that would come in handy this winter like Flu, fever reducer, allergy, cough, ear, nose, and eye medicine as well. I grabbed some school supplies and lot of other things that i came across before loading them in the back of the truck.
I then help Glenn load his 6 boxes of canned goods in the bed of the truck, 3 boxes of snacks, 3 boxes of boxed goods, and 2 boxes of famine products, and a couple boxes of soap and hair conditioner and shampoo. Dean handed me two more quiver of arrows and a couple more silencers that he had found. We loaded the truck up until It was full of supplies from both stores. I made sure to get dog food, toys, medication, and treats for them also. I came outside and was attacked by a walker. I had to grab my hunting knife to kill it and Glenn was right behind was shocked with how fast I reacted. I called Lady when I heard her barking off to the side. I saw two walkers motioning for Glenn to kill them.
Glenn killed them but it took some time to do so. I went back in the store one last time with a box to get the fresh produce section and got what was still good before going out to the truck. Lady was barking again off to the left. As she reached Dean who was carrying a tent she started to pull his shirt with her teeth towards the truck. I quickly put the stack of a couple tents at the base of the truck into the bed before climbing into bed to move some of them towards the back of the bed of the truck. I saw the heard of walkers round the conner of the store. They must have been from the town that was just down the street.
"Dean walkers." I yelled getting his attention.
I shot the walkers getting to close to Dean as he finished loading up the truck. I killed 10 of them as Glenn finally came out of the store with some clothes and shoes for everybody who didn't have anything. I shot three more walkers that were getting close to him. T-dog open the passenger side door and helped Lady in before hopping in himself. I killed 5 more walkers while Dean killed 5 himself and Glenn took down 2 with his bat he brought and they were all dead. I checked again to make sure that all walkers were dead before collecting my arrows and getting back in the truck so we could leave.
"Okay Dean get the arrows while I help Glenn load this so we can get out of here." I told them as I reached down to take the top box of clothes from Glenn.
I stayed in the bed of the truck as Glenn and Dean hopped in the truck and drove off. I sat down on one of the humps that the tire went under. I separated the boxes of supplies making a clear line where Shane's group began and ours ended at. I wasn't about to let Shane take any supplies from me and my kids especially since a lot of this was for winter when we had to make soups, chilis, and stews to keep warm and to get enough fat and meat to survive and not lose all your turned on the road that led to camp and I stood up at the end of the truck by the tool box as we came to a stop in front of our Rv.
Matt came out knowing we needed to get most of our supplies into the Rv before Shane caught wind of it. I passed Matt the coolers first since they were the most important items, next came the canned goods and snacks for the boys to last through winter and still get some treats here and there. I had most the boxes of food in before Shane got back from down at the lake and he came our way with Lori behind him. They both looked furious but I didn't care. I kept passing boxes to Dean and Matt and I passed the last box of food when Shane reached us. He tried to grab the box that I had in my arms but brought my knee up and kicked him in the bottom of the face making him stumble back.
I passed the box to Dean at the end of the truck picked up the box and went towards the Rv but Lori tried to block his way and he just shoved her a side which angered Shane even more. I jumped into action when I saw Shane raise his gun to Dean to get him to stop and Matt reacted to bringing his up as well. We both had our guns pointed at Shane as he stopped from making him move and lowered his gun.
"If you make Dean drop my sons baby food I will kill you. I shot over 20 walkers to get this shit so back off." I threaten Shane.
"No NO don't move another step I want to see every box that you put in your Rv this food is for the group" Shane yelled getting everyones attention.
"No I agreed to take Glenn to get camping supplies and when I went to pick him up you had added T-dog to the mix and gave him the loudest gun you could have. I know you got a bag full of guns. Shane I'm not stupid like you think I am. Just like I know for the last two times that Glenn went to the city Lori hogged all the supplies for her self like a selfish bitch." I told Shane jumping down off the bed of the truck to the ground so I was at his level.
I moved to block his hit but moved at the last second and ducked under his arm and hit him in the spleen twice before moving out of way and knocking his knees out from under him. Everyone who gathered around was surprised to see me able to knock Shane down so easily. I handed Dean the second box of baby food and I turned and let everyone see that it was baby food before handing it to Dean. I then handed Glenn the first box of his groups and several other guys moved forward to get the boxes, tents, sleeping bags, and other supplies. I let them take what was theirs but kept what was ours away from their prying hands.
"I warn you one last time try and take my supplies again and I will kill you and your girlfriend over there." I told him motioning towards where Lori was standing with Carl watching but they couldn't hear what I had said.
After unloading all the supplies I moved the truck to the back of the Rv and put it back on the trailer before locking it into place. I went into the Rv with Lady at my side as she greeted her pups and I did the same. I dug into one box and pulled out a package of Oreos and open the pack before giving each boy two of them before taking two out for myself. They both ate them in different ways but loved them and thanked me for them.I carried most the boxes to the storage room and started to organize them while Dean and Matt brought me the rest of the boxes. I now knew that we had enough food to last us through winter and some of spring until the animals started to come out if we ration right.
I was adding Ethan's baby food the the other boxes of baby food when Ethan started to cry for his supper bottle. I walked out of the storage room and locked the door. I took Ethan from Matt and grabbed a bottle from the fridge and started to fed him. Dean started to warm up some more salsa chicken and peas for everyone. I burped Ethan before feeding him the rest of his bottle. I sat him down in his highchair and sat down at the table next to Sam so we could eat. I fed Ethan carrot, Corn, and Chickpea jar of baby food and he wasn't sure what to think about it but he ate it. I think that it was the Chickpea that was throwing him off.
I burped him again after his baby food and put him on the floor to go play with Lady who had his favorite toys by her side. I ate my bowel of food before having Matt go get everyones Top Secret Puzzle folder so that we could work on the first couple of pages and go over them if they were already completed. Sam had got pretty far but stumped on the first puzzle but went on ahead and finished the next four pages with no problem. Matt had got the fist three pages down like me and it was good to find that we all three ended up with the same answers for the pages. I ended up reading the whole information book that was in the folder and the boys liked that.
I put the puzzle book and Book about that area back up in their folder after about an hour of us working on them and had Matt and Sam go put them up since it was reaching bed time soon. I also had them change into their PJ's if they weren't taking a shower tonight. I picked Ethan up off the floor since he was falling asleep while playing but still fighting to go to sleep. I grabbed Ethan's night time bottle and went to put him to sleep. I let the dogs out on the way and Dean step outside with them not trusting the rest of the group not to hurt them. I changed his diaper and clothes before I started to feed him his bottle while rocking him to sleep in my arms.
I notice that Matt had even did the laundry that I had started this morning while we were gone to give him something to do. I had to stop rocking him and burp him half way through his bottle which he wasn't happy about but it had to be done. I gave Ethan the rest of his bottle before burping him again and put a sleeping Ethan to bed. I went to the kitchen and saw that Dean had let two of the three dogs back inside but Hunter was still out with Dean. I got out Four small glasses and poured milk into them. I took out the opened package of Oreos and gave all of us Four Oreos out before putting the package back up. I handed each boy their glass of milk and napkin with their Oreos on it.
They sat down at the booth and ate them by dipping them in their milk. Dean came back inside after another 3 minuets of being outside with Hunter in tow who was happy to go lay down on Sam's bed. I gave Dean his milk and cookies and I got a kiss on the check as he took them. I finished up my milk and cookies and collected the boys cups and started to wash them out and Dean added his glass in before drying the cups once they were rinsed out. I washed and dried any other dishes that was in the sink as well before putting them up. I then wiped down the counter top and booth seating and table before turning off the kitchen light and moving to the living area.
Matt and Sam were back from changing into PJs so we watched another 2 episodes of Blindspot before we got ready for bed. I took a shower with Dean and we barley fit in the shower together but it was nice to have some just us time after the long day we had. I fucked against the shower wall by Dean who was happy to do it. Afterwards we washed off and got out of the shower. It wasn't nothing new for me and Dean to shower together and the boys knew that it was something married couples did together but only married couples usually. I got dressed in PJ's and so did Dean before we cleaned up the bathroom and hung the towels to dry.
I brushed out my hair before doing my teeth. I then went into bedroom while Dean finished up in shower. I got Sam's Magic tree house book and sat down on his bed beside him and ready 5 chapters before he was sleepy enough to go to sleep. Matt had listened in but fell asleep a couple chapters in. I covered Sam up before carefully getting off his bed as not to wake him and I picked up a tired River and Lady and put them on their bunk bed and Hunter jumped up and joined them after getting a drink. I went and made sure the whole Rv was locked down good before going to bed Dean would stay up tonight to keep watch after what happened with Shane the day before.
Plus I didn't trust Shane on watch after falling asleep the day before. I would wake up about 4:00 and take over for him while he went to bed for a bit. I had planned on taking the boys and dogs down to the lake tomorrow to let them swim and have fun while it was still warm. That would give Dean time to sleep and clean up the Rv once he woke up.
"Hey Dean I had an Idea for tomorrow." I told him joining him on the couch.
"What honey." He asked me.
"I was thinking of getting the dogs and boys and taking them down to the lake to swim and fish while you slept some and then when you get up you could give the Rv a good cleaning while everyone was out. Or you could come down and replace me and I could come give the Rv a good cleaning." I told Dean.
"I think that is a good idea." Dean told me giving me another kiss and hug before I went to bed.
