The Risen Apprentice Vs. The Fallen Master
As Ahsoka rushes to aid Ezra as Vader makes his way towards him in the Sith Temple on Malicore. She leaps over Vader's saber as he swings and slices his helmet making him cringe in pain. Ezra shouting back to her, "Ahsoka hurry!" Then as she stands, she hears a voice that is mechanical and yet familiar send a chill up her spine as she hears, "Ahsoka," coming in the direction of Vader. Turning back to see the black helmet and top half of the respirator falling off. As he struggles to breath correctly. Vader lifts his head as Ahsoka looks upon the top of charred and scarred top of his head. Trembling at what she suspected for a long time but hoped beyond hope that it wasn't true. Only to have it all horrifyingly confirmed as she sees the orange eyed, scarred faced, but familiar voice of her former master and friend Anakin Skywalker look up at her as he says again, "Ahsoka," To her say in sorrowful response, "Anakin."
Ahsoka still petrified with horror at seeing what has become of her former master and friend declares, "I won't leave! Not this time. I don't what The Emperor did to you to make you this way. But I can help you turn away from this. Please! Let me help you Anakin. Like you helped me when my path became darkened, and you saved me from the dark side."
With Anakin/Vader locking eyes with her with the temple starting to collapse around them and the streams of purple and blue lighting arcing behind him. Then as he speaks with his real voice overlaid with his masks voice responds with grim determination. "I am not your master, or Obi Wans failure, Ahsoka Tano. It was not Anakin who pledge himself to Sidious as his hand when he became Emperor after giving Order 66. It was me. It was not Anakin who ran his lightsaber through master Shaak Ti in vengeance against the Jedi council for their failure of him. Before I then proceeded to cut down all the younglings at the temple with no hesitation, mercy, or compromise. It was me. It was not Anakin who slaughtered the Separatist leaders and who was left for dead on Mustafar by Obi-Wan. It was me. It wasn't Anakin who cut down Obi-Wan before Anakin's spawn aided in destroying first Death Star after the destruction of Alderran. I did." Then with ever growing rage in his tone says, "And it is not Anakin you are speaking to now. Only me. Do you understand Padawan. I already said it plain and clear. Anakin Skywalker was weak, I destroyed him. Anakin Skywalker is long gone; I am what remains. And if you won't leave⦠Then I will destroy you and you shall DIE JUST LIKE HE DID! And you can join him in OBLIVION!"
With tears in her eyes Ahsoka mournfully replies, "Then my teacher and my friend is truly dead, and you are the one who killed him. I will do what I must, Sith Lord." "You will try." He says before they do battle again. Then as Ahsoka stabs her lightsabers into the floor and before Vader can kill her. She is pulled by Ezra into the World between Worlds just the floor gives out from under Vader.
After she returns to Malicore from the World between Worlds. She looks from a safe place and while masking her presence. Watches the dark and twisted shell of her former master and friend limp off back to his star fighter. Struggling to breath with every step.
She turns away and descends the stairs deeper into the temple. Then as she walks among the petrified bodies of Jedi and Sith killed by the temple she hears another familiar voice say her name, "Ahsoka." She turns to see materializing from the air enveloped in blue light Obi wan Kenobi. "Obi Wan," Ahsoka says in disbelief. "Not just him," says another familiar voice. As then appearing around her are the force spirits of master Plo Koon and Master Ayala Securra. Ahsoka in disbelief, "No this is a trick. You are all dead." Obi Wan, "But have not ceased to exists as we once thought." Master Plo, "We are not part of the living force of the entire cosmos." Using the force to ignite then disassemble her lightsabers before reassembling them, and Ayala lifting her off the ground before putting her back down. "How can this be?" "Because I taught them young one," says a gentle but unfamiliar as the form of Qui Gon Jinn becomes visible.
Ahsoka then in sorrow asks, "What happened to Anakin?" Obi Wan then responds, "He was seduced by Darth Sidious as Chancellor Palpatine into serving the dark side of the force as his new apprentice. Thinking it would give him the power to save his wife Padme Amidala from death." Ahsoka, "I had my suspicions about her and Anakin being more than friends. It makes sense why they seemed happier together." Obi Wan continues with grief in his tone, "However Anakin lost all sense of right and wrong and instead of saving her caused her death. He ceased to be Anakin Skywalker and became Darth Vader. When that happened. The good man who was your teacher and my brother was destroyed. Consumed by the persona of Vader. I promised my master Qui Gon here that I would train him. I thought I could do as well as Yoda. I was wrong, and the galaxy has suffered terribly as a result."
Ayala steps in, "You can't blame yourself for his fall Kenobi. It was his choice to accept or reject Sidious's offer to join him." Qui Gon then gently adds, "What is done, is done and over. There is no need to dwell on what can't be changed."
Ahsoka then asserts, "But there has to be some good still left in him." Obi wan looking her straight in the eyes, "You've already seen for yourself. He's more machine now then man. Twisted and evil. With him desiring anything or anyone that reminds him of his former life to be destroyed in rage and hate." Qui Gon putting his left hand on Ahsoka's shoulders asserts, "Anakin may have been tricked into thinking he had no other choice, but to join Sidious, but the true core of Anakin is still alive within Vader. Imprisoned by the dark side."
Ayala in agitation, "How can you still believe he can be redeemed from darkness master?" "Because I know he is the chosen one. For he has already fulfilled several of the prophecy's predictions. And though not Obi wan nor Ahsoka could get through to him. There is still hope that he will be released at last from his self-induced slavery to Sidious. By his son Luke, and he will destroy both Sidious and his alter ego to at last restore balance to the living force. Until that day. We must guide Luke and those whom the Force has set aside for this."
Ahsoka looking straight at master jinn asks, "How can you know for sure?" "Because I have already seen how it will all turn out, and he will find redemption and restore balance at last." Obi Wan with his head held low responds, "I wish I could your kind of faith in destiny master." With master Plo adding, "As do we all. Still, none of us would be able to convey this to Ahsoka without you teaching us how temporarily separate from the Force and manifest before Ahsoka. Still, I trust you your wisdom. I just hope you know what you and the Will of The Force is doing."
Qui Gon then speaks directly to Ahsoka as he tells her, "As for you Ahsoka Tano. We are here to inform you that you have great training to go through." "What training?" Ayala, "You will learn how to merge with the Cosmic Force and manifest your consciousness. Enabling you like us to commune with the living after death." Qui Gon then continues, "And I will instruct you on how. Just as I wish I could've taught Anakin before my life was taken by Maul."
Obi wan looking at her with her attention upon him, "Come along Ahsoka. There is much for you to learn and we've got nothing but time to spend on teaching you all you need."
As she follows them deeper into the depths of Malicore. She looks back towards the stairway and up through the skylight that was opened by the temple. Standing in the suns light as dust seems to sparkle like diamonds gently falling to the ground. She says to herself, "The light always shines the brightest in the darkness and makes the darkness flee. Light can penetrate even through the darkest of hearts and make love and truth shine again." Qui Gon taking her hand with her looking up towards him as he responds with a smile, "Exactly how it will be for Anakin. Trust in the Force Ahsoka Tano. Always." Looking up towards the light again she says with reassurance, "I will do my best to trust in The Force. I just hope what you say about Anakin's destiny is true." Qui Gon, "Trust me when I say. It will and it will all turn out for the best possible ending."
The End
