When Mario finally woke up, Cappy was floating over him. Mario did a double take as he started to get up.
Mario stammered, "W - what happened?"
Cappy answered, "You were facing that monster when he used his hat to throw you off the ship."
Mario questioned, "You saved me?"
Cappy seemed to have nodded, "Yes, my name is Cappy and that monster took my sister..."
Mario introduced, "My name is Mario and that monster took my girlfriend."
Cappy had an idea, "Well, what do you say that we work together to save them?" Mario was the one to nod now, smiling. But his smile faded when he saw his hat shredded, he frowned. Cappy perked up, "What?"
Mario explained sadly, "My Mamma gave my brother and I those hats when we were just babies..."
Mario fought off some tears coming from his eyes. Though he knew Luigi and Violet were safe, he couldn't help but wonder if they were okay. Cappy had a small piece of Mario's hat and had an idea.
Cappy offered, "Hang on, allow me!"
That's when Cappy turned into Mario's signature hat.
Mario breathed, "Whoa!" Cappy turned back. He asked, "You can do that?"
Cappy explained, "Yeah I can change into any man's hat."
Mario smiled wide. He had to admit that was rather awesome.
...
"VI!"
Violet woke up with a start, hearing her boyfriend calling for her. Violet got up in a shot, hearing her boyfriend yelling. She grabbed her flashlight and headed out the door. She saw that the golden floor started to disappear and made the hallway super creepy. She ran to Luigi's room, opening up the door. To her horror, Luigi and Spettro weren't there. And the entire room was dark now. She shivered.
"Weegie?" She called out, looking around for her boyfriend.
But when she didn't see anything, she frowned.
Maybe he's in Blue and Yellow's rooms?
Leaving her boyfriend's room, she went to the next door down the hallway. She opened one of Blue and Yellow's rooms. There was a lot of luggage left laying around but no sign of the Toad brothers. She even checked Red's room but he wasn't there either.
Where did they all go?
Having a bad feeling, Violet went out of Toad's room. She heard the elevator ding. She went to investigate and saw Hellen Gravely there.
Was she see-threw?
She got a bit larger and commented, "Well, well, well... What do we have here? My second most esteemed VIP!"
Violet stood her ground as she shook a bit. "W - what is the meaning of this?! Where is Luigi?! And the Toads?!"
Hellen laughed evilly. "My dear... They are resting quite comfortably. Thanks to him..."
That's when she moved to the side and revealed the one and only King Boo. Violet paled in absolute horror.
No! It couldn't be!
Violet breathed, "King Boo?!"
King Boo mocked, "Yes, it is a-me, King Boo. That old coot had me locked up tight in his lab. But guess what? I GOT OUT. The hotel owner was just dying to meet me. So she busted me out. Pretty lucky, huh?"
Violet stammered, mostly to herself, "I - I wouldn't call it luck..." She turned to the King of Boos and demanded, "W - what do you want?"
King Boo told her, "I wasn't expecting you to show up. But I was ready just in case. My vengeance is almost complete."
Violet repeated, "Vengeance?!"
King Boo explained, "Yes, for you see, I'm trapping everyone in the kingdom into frames!"
Violet completely froze when she saw the Toads in three different frames and Luigi in a green frame.
Oh Grambi... He caught Luigi!
Violet breathed, "Luigi..." She reached out to her boyfriend but the paintings disappeared. She turned to King Boo Boo and demanded, "L - let them go!"
King Boo refused, "No, you just stay right there and put on your best horrified face, Violet. This is game over!"
That's when he brought out a purple frame for Violet. Violet quickly activated her Aurora Nine. She threw an icicle at King Boo. The ice went through him but it gave Violet a chance to run. She ran the other way, not realizing it was a dead end. Until she got there, that is.
Crap.
She turned back around, seeing that King Boo had activated the frame. Seeing a dumbwaiter in front of her, she had no choice but to fire another icicle. Again, it went through him but it was enough for her to open up the dumbwaiter and fall down the shaft.

Back with Mario and Cappy, Cappy had taught Mario how to use the capture feature.
Mario admitted, "That's pretty handy!"
Cappy chuckled, "C'mon, we better get to the top of Top-Hat Tower!"
Mario nodded in agreement. Soon enough, the two of them happened upon the Broodals. They were just waiting for Mario, based on Bowser's instructions. The green Broodal stayed behind to fight Cappy and Mario. Mario wounded up winning, showing off the Firebrand to Cappy.
Mario saw his gaze, "What?"
Cappy breathed, "You have the Firebrand?"
Mario stated, "Yeah, my brother has the Thunderhand and his girlfriend has the Aurora Nine."
Cappy admitted, "So cool!"
Mario looked around, "So where how are we supposed to get to the next world, anyhow?"
Cappy instructed, "Throw me on that electrical wire."
Mario did as he was told and with that, the two rode on the electricity to get to the next world. Mario thought, 'Hang on Peach and Tiara, we're coming!' It wasn't long before the two of them wounded up in Cascade Kingdom.
Mario breathed, "It's beautiful..."
Cappy replied, "We should be able to find that airship now. Let's look around."
The red hatted plumber had to agree. But this kingdom was huge. How were they going to find this airship...? While they were looking, they did manage to find a Power Moon. Cappy had recognized it and knew it was just what they needed to power the airship. That's when they found it... The Odyssey Cappy had called it.
Mario was in disbelief, "That's the airship that you want to use? It's run down."
Cappy responded, "Yes but if we get more Power Moons, it should be running again in no time."
Mario sure hoped Cappy was right. He fiddled with the engagement ring in his pocket. He had hoped to ask Peach by now... 'Hope Luigi and Violet are enjoying their vacation,' he thought.
