Right after Luz and king hide, Warden Wrath enters the prison. He's a big strong menacing man with big gray arms. He wears a white uniform, a gray hoodie and mask that looks like a crow.
Warden Wrath: I can hear you.
His voice sounded indeed very menacing.
Warden Wrath: Just what are you fools whispering about?
He picks up a piece of paper that was on the floor. Most likely the one Luz had earlier.
Warden Wrath: The owl lady?
The owl lady? Was that the name of the witch Luz mentioned earlier? In any case, she must has a bad reputation because Warden Wrath's arm transformed into a hammer and hit the closest cell bars... This world was getting stranger with every minute.
Warden Wrath: I'll get my hands on her soon enough.
High voice: FIGHT AGAINST THE OPPRESSOR. WE WILL RESIST. WE WILL CONQUER. WE WILL NEVER BE AFRAID OF YOU, YOU OLD CREEP.
Without saying a word, Warden Wrath open up the cell she was trapped in.
High voice: Hooray! I'm free.
But her happiness was short live. Warden Wrath took her with his hand. I saw that the high voice belongs to a little white creature with a long pointy nose, red hair and blue eyes.
Warden Wrath: Let this be a lesson to all of you. There's no place in society for you if you can't fit in.
Edward: Oh! You mean there's no place for people who aren't nice puppies like you?
He turns towards me.
Warden Wrath: What did you just say?
I make an evil smile.
Edward: You heard me. You spent your days chasing people who "don't fit in" just so you can look good to your society. What a miserable life! I bet you're so alone. I even bet that you're just as weird as everyone here.
I pull out my tongue towards him!
Warden Wrath: YOU WILL REGRET THIS.
He pulls up a lever and my cell opened. Exactly what I needed!
I imidiatly transmute the floor. It made that bumpy effect again. Not the effect I was looking for but it was better than nothing. The warden lost balance and fell unconscious freeing the white creature in the process.
Woman: WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
Edward: What do you think? I'm getting us out of here.
I free all the other prisoners. Now I could see them. The man is some kind of big creature with light blue skin and a lot of holes in his face with a few having eyeballs. The woman actually looks like a human with the difference being her long pointy ears. She has brown skin and black hair attach in a pony tail. She wears a long dark purple dress.
Luz and king got out of her hiding spot.
Edward: I don't know for how long he'll be knock off but this is your chance for you to flee.
At first, they looked hesitant but then decide to leave. I tried to follow them when Luz stops me.
Luz: Wait! There's something we need to do here before we can go back home.
King: Yeah, we need to get back my magic crown so I can be FEAR BY MY ENNEMIES AGAIN.
Edward: Wait! You're serious?
? : There you are you two!
I looked at were that voice came from. An old pale skin woman who was flying on what seem to be a magic staff came to us. Despite being very big, her gray hair couldn't hide her long pointy ears. Were humans from this world all this way or were witches an other species? When she went down I notice her staff had an owl on top. She looked around and saw the unconsious Warden.
Pale lady: What in the world hap... We don't have time for this actually.
Her eyes land on me.
Pale lady: Wait! You're a human but I don't remember you coming out of my portal. Oh well, I guess it's good to have more then one around am I right?
Edward: What's that suppose to mean? And who are you? Are you the owl lady?
The woman looks please. I guess that answered my question.
Owl lady: I'll answer all your questions once we're away from that creep.
Having no other options, Luz and I followed Eda to the top of the conformatorium.
Owl lady (Proudfull): You know, even thought you aren't from around here, I'm not surprise you heard of me. I'm indeed Eda the owl lady, the most powerfull witch on the boiling isle.
Edwad (Cutting her off): And you really have a portal to my world?
Luz: Yes she does! She used it to collect stuff from our world and sell it here!
Eda: I promise Luz that if she helped me, I would return her home. Consedering that you're also helping, I will also sent you home once we get that crown back.
Even thought magic is clearly a thing in this world, I still couldn't get my head around it. How did it work? Was it really magic or an other form of alchemy? If it was something else, then why they could do it here and not in mine... No, I need to stay focuss on returning to Al. I guess the equivalence exchange to return to my world was to help her. However...
Edward: Can someone at least tell me what is this so called "magic" crown please?
King: Need a backstory mister? Well you see, I was once the mighty king of demons, until my crown of power was stolen, and I became this.
Luz: Aka the cutest little creature on the planet
King and Edward: HEY! DON'T CALL ME THAT.
The two of them suddently look at me... and I realise my mistake
Edward: I mean... Don't call HIM little... And me netheir btw. It makes me in a really bad mood.
Luz: Well, I do admit you...
Go on...
Luz: Umh! Nevermind
King: Ah! Someone else who knows how it feels. I like you already.
I look away... I guess he's right on that thought.
King: Anyway, my crown is locked away behind a magical force field that only a human can break through. That's why we need you.
I didn't know what to think. Something didn't felt right. Could I really trust just this owl lady and that "king of demons"? Was helping them really what I needed to do to get back at Al? Was putting this world in danger really worth it?
I step back back from the group taking Luz with me.
Edward: Young girl, do you know what you are doing?
Luz: I'm not sure... But I doubt they are evil. Maybe they are like those prisonners we just freed... like me... Why does everyone think being a weirdo is so bad?
That question got off guard.
Edward: Well... I guess not. At least not the extend of getting in prison... But what is weird about you anyway? You keep saying you are one but...
Luz: Oh! So you do think it's bad to be a weirdo too?
Edward: Hey! That's not what I said.
But did I think it? No! My brother was defenetly consider weird for always "wearing" a suit of armor yet there would be nothing wrong with that if he realy did wear one on purpose. I also knew people who acted out of the ordinary like Armstrong and Maes and there' nothing wrong what that etheir... Maes... No, it was not the time to think about him.
Edward: You know what, good or bad, if it's not harmfull, then people should just mind their own busness.
Luz sight
Luz: Anyway, like I said, Eda does have the portal that brought me here so it's not like we have a choice. Beside I saw you know magic so you can defend yourself if anything goes wrong.
I looked at her with a mixt of surprise and annoyance.
Edward: Hold on! I get it, this is a magical world or whatever. However, what I did earlier was not magic. It was alchemy. It's a science.
Luz: What? That's what you call alchemy...
Edward: Well, yeah.. exept it doesn't work the way it should in this world forsome reason.
Luz (Surprise): You mean you do this in our...
King: MY CROWN!
We turn to King. He started scraching on a big door like a dog then jumped on the handle.
Eda: Aw! He gets so cute when he's thirsty for power.
Despite the struggles, King eventually opened the door and went inside.
Eda (To Luz and Ed): Come on before he hurst himself.
King: AIE!
In the middle of the room there was a cylindrical column of light. King tried to traverse it but with no success.
Eda (To King): We have humans remember?
Luz goes for it but I stop her.
Edward: Wait! Let me try first.
I didn't want her to be hurt or let her get into trouble. Event thought I saw the force field simply rejecting King, I still couldn't trust them enough. However, like Luz said, I had no choice... for now So I rise up my automail arm and test if I could really traverse with it. Thankfully, I could. So I go inside followed by Luz.
Luz: Hey, what a unique prostectic.
Ed: This an automail!
Luz: Is it a new kind of prostectic?
Edward: Not really? But we don't have time to talk about it right now.
I looked to side and saw a pile of bones and strange objects that I never saw before.
Luz: Woah! A flip phone. I never thougt I'll see one in reel life.
Edward: You know what this is?
Luz: Yeah: It's a very old cell phone
I was really confused. She didn't know what an automail or alchemy was and I didn't know what a cellphone was... Luz must have felt the same way because she also looks at me confuse but also puzzle.
Edward: We are probably from 2 different countries. Let's keep searching
