When I resurfaced Kristina De La Rosa was dead and Amira Silina was now alive and I wasn't going to hold back. I'd spent my time in hiding doing more training with my sister and our friend Kaitlyn Belikova. Dad bought my house again as I moved in without a care as I figured it was safe and I had Kaitlyn move in with me. Everything was perfect as I continued my life but there was casualities of course, I'd made other friends with a Tidemaker..a squaller...and I'd had to watch them die. It tore me apart to not be able to save them and it haunted my dreams.
To watch people die before your eyes...how does one do it? I couldn't...Kaitlyn and Sierra..they'll die too someday and I'll be alone with this eternal life..who will I be the next time I fake my death? Amira De La Rosa? Kristina Silina? I thought
This was my life for a few days as I prepared but then there was a knock on the door and I was in my room looking at my neck. His mark had never faded so I knew he was out there waiting when I went to my door but stopped hearing Kaitlyn. "Oh Hello" Kaitlyn said as I listened. "Pardon me we're looking for a girl with brunette hair, blue eyes..she's the General's grisha soulmate would you have any idea if she lives here?" A man asked as I didn't recognize him. Kaitlyn knew about this so she covered for me well but it'd only work if that man wasn't a heartrender. "I'm sorry, no. My roommate she's out right now." Kaitlyn lied for me.
I heard the man not speak for a bit and I realized he was a heartrender but he seemed to not pry. "I see..well goodday." He said as he left and I went out there. "Saints! He's looking for me...he doesn't know..how did he figure out where I lived?" I asked as I panicked that I hadn't even thought about him knowing about this place years ago.
I never did go on that second date..and what he did to help me survive the cold.. I thought
My thoughts went back to that cave what I allowed to happen to me and yet he never once went to kiss me just my neck...even when I think about it I can feel his hands on my body. I shivered because I knew it was to keep me alive that had nothing to do with love. I was broken out of my thoughts by Kaitlyn snapping her fingers and a little flame infront of my sight as I blinked. "Ravka to Amira..you seemed in a steamy thought. As if you were flashing back to a juicy memory.." Kaitlyn teased as I looked at her.
"Sit down Kaitlyn..I have something to tell you." I said as she walked over and sat down. I sat down as I looked at her bracelet with the bones of the beast we found. "Remember when I went out in the snow to get more food? I came back later than I expected to." I said as Kaitlyn nod in agreement. "I...I almost died being reckless..I don't know how but he found me in time..I was on the verge of dying but I wasn't giving up and he offered to help save me..we..I.." I said as I blushed and she covered her mouth "You gave yourself to him..well it did save you but you're able to stay away from him...but now he's looking for you Amira." Kaitlyn said
he is looking for me because he knows there is a Sun Summoner out there..will Kaitlyn be safe if I keep living with her? How long can I really keep my mother, sister and Kaitlyn.. I thought
I had a job to get by so I ran out as I went to the local pub and worked hard as I served people drinks easily. I'd done this since resurfacing and then my boss walked over and whispered in my ear "Take a break Amira..but go to booth five. You've been asked for by a man we can't refuse." He whispered as I did and walked over to the booth seeing the General.
Boss can't refuse him..but I can. I thought
I went to walk away when I felt him grab my wrist and pull me into the booth as I turned to look at him "Who do you think you are?" I asked as he put a hand on my cheek and rubbed his thumb on my cheek. "Kristina De La Rosa.." He said softly as he seen I didn't react but my eyes acknowledged the name. "Or are you going by your real name...Amira Silina" He said as he leaned in close as I trembled from his touch. "Don't.." I said but knew nothing compared to a grisha soulmate's touch as he leaned close to my ear "I can still hear your voice..begging for more..you went from freezing to wanting more..till you calmed down and went back to your friends." His voice said
I realized he was not going to let this go as I was living this life but the moment I got free I left and clocked out. collected my money for my shift and then went home as I thought it'd be easy. Yet I was wrong as the sound of a horse approaching was fast as he had it stop infront of me and offer his hand. "No thank you..I'm needed home." I said as I walked right past him going away
"You can't hide forever..you are the key to the folds destruction." He said as I looked back at him "Try it and you'll see how well that goes for you." I said as I went back home..
