Summary:

No one left behind.

This was a level up the ladder from teaching Jay how to peel an orange before eating it, but if there was anyone up for the job, it was Taiyou.

Since the Red Wings had given up on Jay learning how to do a formal salute, the Blue Sirens because Jay couldn't read traffic signs, and the Yellow Gears because Jay didn't know how to laugh at one of Shoh's jokes, it naturally fell to Ozora Taiyou to smooth things out.

Taiyou and Jay were survival naturals. The instinct to sense danger and rescue people in emergency situations was already hardwired into Jay. He just needed a bit of (okay, a lot of) help with the basics of…everything. He hadn't been given the benefit of an education after disappearing from the orphanage only a year after his placement there, and he was literally only a year old at the time!

Taiyou believed Jay's days with Disaster were finished. That Jay could be Machine Robo Rescue's ally, and not their foe.

Jay just needed another friend by his side while he waited for Stealth to be reborn, and Taiyou's friends just needed chances to verify for themselves Jay was serious about enlisting.

Taiyou stood by the sea, hoping Jay would turn up, not doubting Jay was still alive. Buried under all that anger and hatred was a victim, no less worthy of his outstretched hand than an unfortunate soul trapped under the rubble of a building.

Jay had been responsible for a sizeable share of those buildings, but consider the lives he could save, now that Disaster's brainwashing was broken!

His heart was scarred, yet salvageable.

It was wrong to leave Jay behind. MRR had to try their best to save everyone!

Some think it too late for them so they beg the children to save themselves.

Some think they don't deserve saving.

Taiyou believes loss of life is always preventable.

Ignoring what anyone else might think, he leans over toward Jay's lips.

"Welcome to Lesson 1 on CPR!"
