Hey guys! Welcome back to another chapter! I enjoyed writing the first one and I'm enjoying (so far) writing the second. This chapter is going to delve into and explain the threat the gods and demigods are facing since I only briefly explained it in the first chapter. Keep in mind not everything will be revealed (I'll do that in later chapters) but I will explain just enough so you all know what's going on. But you guys don't wanna hear me ramble so I'm signing of see you at the end!
Disclaimer:
Rick Riordan owns the full rights to the Percy Jackson series; I do not own his characters only the plot and any original characters I decide to make.
Chapter two:
Investigation

Just to recap, from last chapter:
Jupiter cleared his throat and began to speak
"Thank you, gods of Olympus, whether you be Greek, or Roman I thank you for coming to this meeting"
Now this chapter:
There were a few quiet murmurs around the throne room but nothing else as all eyes where on the king of the gods as they waited to hear what he would say next.
"As you know, a year ago the sky split open. It was very sudden and came without warning. You all sensed the monsters and… them. Because of this threat I have called in my advisor," said Jupiter
Athena nodded
"Indeed, so this new threat-"
Jupiter cleared his throat awkwardly.
"With all due respect daughter, I meant a different advisor. My original advisor, Themis"
At the mention of her name, the Titaness of divine law came forward. Many gasps and murmurs were heard as she came forward. She appeared to be 12 feet tall, slightly taller than the major gods in their 10 feet tall forms. Like the common depictions of lady justice, she had her eyes covered by a cloth wrapped around her head and in one hand was a massive, gleaming double edged celestial bronze sword and in the other was a scale that could fit to fully grown mortals on it.
She stepped in the centre of the U shape that the thrones were arranged in and waited for Jupiter to give her the thumbs up to speak.
"I am sorry my daughter, but for a threat like this I need my eldest and wisest advisor, again I am sorry," said Jupiter
Athena nodded stiffly and Jupiter nodded to Themis who began to speak.
"For those of you who don't know me, I am Themis. Daughter of Uranus and Gaia and titaness of divine law and justice and advisor to the gods" she said, giving a nod to Jupiter.
"Now, the threat we are facing. As you all well know, it happened a year ago. Just before the sieges on the two camps, each god and Olympian allied titan was called away from the mortal conflicts to investigate this new threat. Eventually, we managed to catch one of the new monsters and examine it. It appears that these new monsters have been amplified and mutated through the usage of divine power, as if a god or several have blessed them directly"
There was a wave of murmurs and quiet whispers before Themis continued.
"And so, I investigated this threat further. I found no records of something like this happening in both Olympus and Othyrs's records. It appears that gods or immortals of some sort came from the portal with their army of blessed monsters"
Again, there was murmuring and quiet whispering and even gasps or shock and surprise. Themis, like a schoolteacher waited until everyone had gone silent upon the realisation that she would only speak when they weren't.
"As I was saying, these new gods or immortals seem to be powerful, as powerful as us perhaps which brings me to my next point. These immortals seem to have similar if not the exact same aura's as ourselves" said Themis
Athena, not sure how she should otherwise ask a question from the titan, raises her hand.
"Yes Athena?" Themis asks
"About your last point, that's impossible. Each god's aura is different and unique to that god depending on their domains and power level, and unless these immortals where us ourselves, it would be impossible for them to share an aura with us," said Athena
Themis smiled
"You truly are as wise as lord Jupiter says you are, yes. Each god's signature is different and unique depending on what kind of God they are and power levels and ect. But I have a theory that can potentially explain what's happened," said Themis
Athena tried to not to look too pleased at the titaness' compliment and looked excited and curious at the mention of Lady Themis' theory, something that unbeknownst to her earned her silent snickers from her fellow council members.
"State this theory" said Pluto who was equally as curious as his niece as to what exactly the Titans theory was.
Themis nodded
"Very well lord Pluto. I think that all of this ties into one being, Khaos" at the mention of the powerful one, the room darkened and many of the minor gods hissed in fear.
Even the big three tried not to notice the shivers running down their back at the mention of that particular primordial.
Apollo asked the question everyone was thinking
"How does this tie in with the powerful one?"
"Fear not, Lord Apollo for I shall explain myself."
Themis took a deep, deep breath before launching in to her no doubt massive explanation for her theory.
"So, everyone here knows the creation story, correct?" there were nods of confirmation across all the gods, major and minor, Greek and Roman.
"Well, what you might not know is that I get-or well used to get information from my mother, Gaia" Themis let that sink in as there were hushed whisperings from the minor gods who weren't aware of this fact before Themis continued.
"What she told me is that Khaos, her parent and my grandparent after creating our world got bored again and wanted to make another world, though slightly different this time. They did this over and over again. Each string of fate connecting the fates of all people across what is known as the omniverse. Khaos is still out there, creating many more worlds but it had one rule which should never be broken. Never shall two worlds collide, or mass destruction of both worlds shall occur"
A particularly brave or stupid (probably the latter) minor god known as Momus called out;
"And what does this little history lesson have to do with our predicament oh great wise one"
Themis, despite being blind faced the minor god, dark hazel meeting grey cloth.
"Because Momus, God of harsh criticism and mockery this law has been broken. I believe our world, and another have strayed so close that a connection has been made between the two. The supernatural of that world has entered ours. A world where gods, most likely you major ones, bless monsters to fight for you, one where mortals are slain whether innocent or guilty, a world where I, along with my titan brethren innocent and guilty are imprisoned below the earth" Themis said
"So how do we stop this threat?" Mercury asked, hoping the answer wasn't war.
"Based of already what we know lord Mercury, I say war is just on the horizon. Fighting will take place between our world, and theirs," said Themis
"You didn't answer the question" Mars pointed out
"Indeed, I did not, lord Mars for these are immortals, gods such as yourselves who cannot be slain. However, there is hope left for us. They are not in our world and us such, if they are slain will most likely regenerate in the Tartarus of their world, not ours," said Themis
"Which would give us a window of time to close the massive tear in the sky, thus trapping them in their own world again" Finished Poseidon
Themis nodded
"Indeed, lord Poseidon. The Olympian forces, mortal and divine need to band together under one rule, one leader," said Themis
"Indeed, but who shall lead? One of the war gods perhaps?" asked Demeter
Themis shook her head
"In my opinion lady Demeter and the rest of the Olympian council, there is only one who has the strength and ability to lead such an army," said Themis
Poseidon stood up, his trident still in hand.
"My son has fought two wars for us already, I will not ask that he personally leads a third" growled Poseidon, his fatherly instincts taking over.
Themis shook her head sadly
"I'm sorry lord Poseidon, I truly am. But if we are to win, if western civilization is to survive your son must answer fates call and lead"
Poseidon stood there, the gears in his divine brain turning as he thought. He sighed, thinking in his head "Sorry Percy"
"Very well, my son Perseus Jackson shall lead"

End
Hahaha, another cliff-hanger! I am truly evil :) Wow, another 1K and a bit I managed to fit in the second chapter. These first two chapters have mainly served as an introduction into the main plot, the next chapter and the ones that follow will have a lot more Percy in them, I promise. With that all out of the way, I hope you all have a great day and remember to review my story. Thanks for reading, see ya!
