As you can probably tell, this is my first ever fanfiction story. Actually, this is my first ever published story in general lol. I got a sudden surge of inspiration while reading Arc 7 and listening to music which led me to write this. I wasn't planing on publishing it, but I think it came out alright and I figured why not? Don't expect too much tho, I am not a writer. Anyways, enjoy!
The Fall
It was a beautiful night in Vollachia. The moon was full, and its brightness painted the skies in a beautiful color. There was something odd though, two silhouettes disturbed the scenery as they passed by the moon.
A pair of men flying through the night sky could be seen from the Imperial Capital of Rupgana. Such a thing was common in the capital since many people, especially soldiers, flew mounting dragons, but something was different from this pair. They were not riding dragons, or anything for that matter.
One of them was in front and the other was behind him, tightly tied to the former. They were a black-haired youth with scary eyes and a black-haired, handsome man. Currently, they are flying high in the air at extremely high speeds in a parabolic trajectory without safe landing in sight.
?: You absolute fool! In what world was this a good idea?!
?: Shut up asshole, I saved your life! It was the only thing I could come up with!
? Is that so? I could think of a million better ways you could have saved me!
?: You!
The ungrateful man, Vincent admonished Subaru for his reckless plan as they were losing altitude very quickly and would, in fact, die once they reached ground.
Subaru couldn't disagree with Vincent, there were definitely better ways to save him, but his impulsiveness got the better of him.
Subaru: OK listen to me! We should…!
Just as Subaru was about to propose a plan to survive, he felt something. It was a strange feeling he often had when things went very wrong. The feeling of approaching Death. He felt a presence looming over him, no. It was under him.
Subaru: INVISIBLE PROVIDENCE!
Subaru commanded the dark, cursed power bestowed upon him. The invisible hand burst from his chest to contest the incoming danger, but his body told him that it wouldn't be enough. The hand changed its direction and striked the opossing force perpendicularly, thus deflecting it. Just slightly, but it was enough. This small action barely managed to save his life from the mortal blow that was unleashed from below him.
Subaru: You've gotta be kidding me.
?: Did you seriously think that just because I am a big guy, I can't jump?
Subaru looked in disbelief as a humongous figure "stood" before him. The figure had just unleashed a blow with his fists alone that blasted the clouds surrounding them away. The blow, despite missing its target, still managed to stop the horizontal trajectory of the pair and they were now falling vertically. If the blow had connected, not a single ounce of flesh would remain in Subaru's body. As it stood, only a massive scar was present on his cheek.
They had nowhere to run. It shouldn't have been possible. At this height, and at this speed as well, how could he have possibly caught up to them?
?: What's with the surprised look boy? I'm not called the Lion Knight for nothing you know.
It was because he was one of those monsters.
Goz Ralfon: You were lucky this time, traitors, but you won't survive the next one! The fake emperor will die!
With a wide grin and crazed eyes, the Lion Knight fell back down after his declaration as he lost his momentum, but it was no joke that he would jump again once he reached the ground and attack them again. If they didn't do anything in the time it would take him to come back, they would unmistakably die. To worsen their situation, they still had to survive the fall.
Subaru: Dammit, dammit all!
The Fake Emperor and the Child of War would have to deal with yet another dangerous situation to regain the throne.
Notes
This short thing took surprisingly long to write. Honestly, the idea of writing is better than writing itself.
So, what did you think? I haven't read much about the Lion Knight and he has not appeared in the main story yet, but I liked his character design so I decided to include him in this odd scenario. The way I portrayed him is most likely OC, hence the tag.
I have no idea how this site works so hopefully I didn't mess up anything while publishing this. Also how the hell does the character list not have god Vincent? Literally the best character in the series? #JusticeforVincent.
