While Group E walked to the most upper story, group D had it's own story. Sam and Paulina started to argue. The reason, boys.
"Just say it, you like Fenton!" teased Paulina, but Sam just replied, spiting her words like flames, "I am not! We are just friends!"
"But you spend so much time together! More alone that you and Tucker!"
"But that doesn't mean I like him!" yelled Sam, "I like someone else!"
As soon as the words left her mouth, she clapped her hands over her lips, "Fuck."
"Oh! Who is it!" asked Paulina, getting annoyed.
"Not your business!"
Mia, Rebecca and Henry just watched the whole ordeal.
Group C on the other hand, Tucker kept close to Tiffany, thinking about ways to ask her out. But he wasn't able to come up with anything, something Kwan noted. The Korean male pulled Tucker to himself and said, "Foley, just ask her out. You act like Tiff would kill ya."
"But I don't know what to say!" replied Tucker.
"If you say nothing, this chance will be wasted and you would need to hope that Tiff asks you out." told him the Korean "Just look how I easily ask out Ashley."
He walked to said girl, who was looking at a board, and said, "Hey Ashley. Would you like to go out with me? Next week maybe?"
The brunette was surprised and smiled, answering, "Sure Kwan, I would love to."
Seeing this, Tucker was baffled, but he thought, "He is an A -list, of course she says yes!"
Group B had different problems, as Valerie tried to avoid Star, and especially Dale. She crushed on the male since freshman year, but she never had the courage to ask him out. But to her luck, he approached her.
"Uh, hey Gray, uh, Valerie. You now spend time with Fenton?" asked Dale.
Valerie just answered him, "Yes, why do you care? I'm not in your group anymore."
"About that, some of us start to think that the group is a bad idea, that it hurts our social live, so... you and Fenton, are you a thing?"
Valerie stopped in her tracks, "Hell no!"
She slapped Dale into his face, yelling, "Do you really think I'm so desperate that I date someone whose taken!?"
"Fenton's taken?" chimed Star in, surprised.
Valerie told her, "Please, it's clear he has a thing for Sam and she for him. I hung out with them long enough to know how she looks at him."
Group A had nothing happening, just that Hannah was a bit creeped out by the thought of exploring the basement first. Jack tried to calm her down, telling her that, "It's just an abandoned building in nowhere, in the middle of Illinois.", but as that didn't work, and actually just worsened her fear, he told her, "With a professional ghost hunter, nothing can happen!" He also decided to step into every room first, to calm her minds.
Lancer the while was busy keeping an eye on Nathan and the other Daniel, as these two have a strong tendency to do bullshit. Like pranks, something they try to pull on Hannah, they tried to scare her.
Back at group E, they arrived at the most top floor, and Mikey and Brittany took deep breaths. They took the stairs rather quickly, Danny just faked that he was out of breath. They can't suspect a thing.
"What now?" asked Mikey. "Exploring the upper level?"
"Duh! Also, we still have a stair case to take." replied Brittany, "The roof has a terrace or whatever it's called."
"For someone whose father is an architect, you know hardly a thing." mocked Dash the girl, laughing. Just to receive another burst of Brittany, "That man is just the husband of my mom, he isn't my father!"
"Okay, okay!" said Dash, trying to get away from her, "The roof top it is!"
They arrived on the roof top, and were greeted by the sun. Bright rays blinding them, but something felt off for Danny, the sun rays didn't feel very warm, like the sun does normally. And it isn't because of his ice core, he never felt the sun like this until now. But his mind was distracted by a few birds flying around. They were mostly black in color with a bit of brown on the bottom.
"Oh, Orchard Orioles, beautiful birds..." said Brittany. "I may not know a lot about buildings, but I'm good at Evian related stuff."
"Evian?" asked Dash.
"Birds, just birds, Baxter." stated Brittany. She walked to the rim of the roof and extended a hand to the birds. One actually flew to her, but it vanished.
"What?!" wondered Brittany, taking a step back from the rim. The boys were also confused and shocked, did the bird just vanish in thin air? The other birds also vanished, scaring the teens further.
"You saw as well that the birds just vanished, right?!" asked Mikey, I don't understand, what?!"
Then birds suddenly reappeared, as suddenly as they vanished . They chirped, scared it appears and flew off, like they flee from something. Daniel starred at the spot and had an idea. He took his backpack and looked for something, and he found it. One of the extended staffs. A defect one though. This staff is an experimental project of Daniel. Whatever he planned, confused the other three.
"Fenturt, what are you doing?" asked Dash, the bully of said black haired teen.
Instead of answering, he just took a stone and threw it to where the birds were. The stone vanished as well. He extended the staff and tried to touch the point, but he was to short. Thinking about throwing the staff, he was suddenly taken by Dash and was on the blondes shoulders. He was surprised but used the chance to test his theory. The staffs end, glowing green, touched the vanishing point and a dome appeared, blazing red upon contact around the building.
"My theory was proven, something is going on." said Danny, jumping of Dash. Said blonde asked, "What now? A-And don't tell anybody about this!"
"We keep our senses open, our weapons ready and don't split up. We better search the others."
...
Group A was walking though a hallway, still in the basement, with Jack in the front and Lancer behind the group. Hannah looked around, and suddenly flinched, 'Did you see that?! That moving shadow!", she claimed. Daniel just told her, "Relax, Hannah, that shadow just moved, because our Flash lights, the only light sources move. Did you sleep in Physics?"
"Yeah, that's our job, Abott!" added Nathan Lester, high-fiving his friend Daniel Martinez. "Just some changing angle or something."
"Correct, Mr. Jacobs. I see you do pay attention in class." chimed their teacher in.
"Puh, sometimes." said Nathan, getting closer to his friend, "Dan, I have an idea for you-know."
Daniel nodded and they started to plot a prank on Hannah. Lancer didn't give them attention, as he tried to calm Hannah down, seeing that Mr. Fenton really promised to check each room first.
Group C hadn't much going on as well, just Ashley and Kwan planning a date and Tucker being unsure what to do. He starred to Tiffany, who inspected old medical equipment with interest, but disgust. It's known by only a few that Tiffany wants to be a doctor, she lives a social double identity, you could say. She on one hand is an A-List member, popular kids known to not have good grades, especially A's despite their title, on the other hand, she has mostly A's and an occasional B.
As being a medical professor is her goal, she of course shows interest, but her moral is disgusted, knowing for what this equipment may be used decades ago, maybe a century even. They know St. Nora was one of the first to be opened, but no one really knew when it was closed. They just knew, at some point, it was opened.
Tucker tried to come up with anything to say, but he didn't. Partly because he saw how focused Tiffany was, he didn't want to interrupt her. That is one reason why he likes her, she is smart and pretty, and on top of that, one of the nicer A-listeners. A dream girl for Tucker. But he is to much of a coward to, not even ask her out, just talk with her at all. Even though this is the chance. They are away from the other A-list members and just a small group of five people, yet he has no courage. He fought ghosts... he assisted Danny, yet he isn't man enough to ask out Tiffany Yvonne.
This internal struggle was sensed by Maddie Fenton, who decided to ask her son's friend.
"Tucker? Is something wrong? Is it the asylum?" asked Maddie, in her sweet and caring voice. Though, she speaks, unless she attacked a ghost, in that voice. "And call me Maddie."
"Uh, I'm fine, really." replied Tucker. The last thing he wants is, to talk with his best friends mom about his feelings, especially his love love. But said red head told him, "And I can tell that you aren't fine."
Tucker saw himself as defeated, so he just told her, "I... okay. I like Tiffany, but I don't have the courage to even small talk to her."
Maddie chuckled, "Oh, first love? Just tell her. What could happen that is so terrible if she declines?"
Tucker wasn't sure, as A-Lists rarely tell others when lower students ask them out. And he doesn't think that Kwan will spill. Thinking about it, besides loosing his chance to date her, he has nothing to loose. He is socially already on the bottom.
"Nothing, I have to loose nothing. But what do I tell her, how do I break the ice?"
While Tucker was overthinking his love life and took advice from his best friends mother, if he uses it is a different story, group B was not talk-active at all. Sarah and Liam kept to themselves, and Star who hates silence was looking between Dale and Valerie. Dale doesn't know what to say and Valerie won't say a thing. This is to much silence and she snapped at them, "Oh, talk already! This is to silent, it drives me crazy! Valerie, just accept his apologies already, girl!"
They starred at Star, surprised that she would yell that loud. They knew Brittany can spit fire, but Star Morgan? No one expected her to be so loud, though, it is true that she hates silence.
"O-Okay! Dale, I... I think we talk this out over a milk shake at Nasty Burger?"
"Sure!"
"Finally! Now talk with me, I can't stand silence!"
Besides that, nothing happened.
Group B wasn't the only one to hear her yell, Group D heard them as well. Sam took out her extendable staff out, but Paulina told her, "That was just Star complaining about silence, no biggie. And you packed extra weaponry?"
"Duh, I lived in Amity long enough to know that these Wrist Rays do shit." replied Sam, "Danny, Tucker and Valerie also have extra's and Maddie and Jack probably too. If not... lets hope they do."
"As if we get attacked by ghosts." added Rebecca.
"Davis, we literally got attacked by the Ghost King, you really want to take risks?" argued Sam, "If you want, I have a few extras I could give you."
Suddenly her Fenton Phone ringed. She took the call and Valerie was to hear, "If you heard a yell, it was just Star. She snapped, too much silence. Relax. Especially you, Tucker."
"Yes, Tuck." agreed Danny, "Relax and chill."
"Oh, you can easily say that!"
"Danny, Tuck, shut it."
"Yes, Sam."
This call also reached group E, and C. As group A had no one with a Fenton Phone, not one that had the connection to all four contacts, they didn't get the call, but they didn't hear Star to begin with, they were to deep in the basement. A basement to big for Hannah, "Oh, how big is this basement? Can we up, exploring the higher levels, please?"
Lancer sighed and said, "No, we weren't down here for that long, and the next closest stair case isn't the one we came from anyway, so returning would be illogical. Just think of something different for now."
"Yes, Mr. Lancer."
"Ah, a new room!" chirped Jack and walked in. The door itself was dark, only lit by his flash light. The cone of artificial light made cartons visible and a lot of dust. To the massive males surprise, the door closed and he turned to it, to open the door again, but it was closed.
"Oh, already want to go away, Jack Fenton?" said a voice. A dark, male voice. Jack turned around and saw a humanoid being, with pale skin, black hair and magenta glowing eyes. He then realized that it floated, he dropped his flashlight.
"What? Saw a ghost?" said the being, before attacking Jack. Said male tried to reach for a gun he brought, but the being was faster and touched him, eyes glowing. It melted with Jack, possessing the man, controlling him. The now possessed Jack took the flash light and restarted it, before opening the door.
"Sorry! I fell over a few boxes!" acted the ghost an apology, "Now, this room is boring and Hannah said the wants to go up again. I saw an interesting place on the map, nearby a stair case, why not checking this before we go into the upper levels?"
"That's a good idea, Mr. Fenton." agreed Nathan. Lancer also agreed, with a nod.
Hannah on the other hand was skeptical, and told Daniel, "Yo, Dan, isn't Fenton acting strange suddenly? And his eyes, they loom pink."
Dan just answered, "Oh, cousin, he probably is just embarrassed about tripping over boxes. And that you noted his eye color, weird, Hanny."
"But still, something feels off." argued Hannah.
