Hayley/Hope, hand (very mild)
Cami/Davina, hand and hairbrush (severe)
She felt that dining on the bridge brought romance to her relationship with her cat.
Hayley/Hope, 2018
"Dad!" Hope shouted as she ran to the kitchen where said dad was taking her afternoon snack of freshly baked brownies out of the oven. "She followed me on the way home." Hope held up a kitten with long white fur and bright green eyes, "Can I keep her?"
"Of course, sweetheart," Klaus said.
Hope's squeals of delight were cut short by her mother's appearance. "What did I say about you getting a pet?"
The little girl twisted one of her toes on the floor in front of her. "You said I wasn't responsible enough for a pet. But Mom, you didn't say I couldn't have this pet."
"Your Uncle Elijah would be proud of that wordplay," Klaus said.
Hayley forced herself not to smile as she knelt down next to her daughter. "What did I say would happen if you asked you dad for something when I already told you no?" The cat hissed in annoyance when Hope dropped her so that she could cover her bottom with both hands. "Hope," Hayley said more firmly.
Hope bowed her head. "You said I'd get a spanking."
Hayley picked up her daughter and walked over to the breakfast table. She sat down and put her squirming daughter over her knee. Klaus was most distraught by this turn of events. "She didn't ask the cat to follow her home, Hayley."
"I didn't!" Hope gave her mom her best pleading look.
Klaus could see Hayley was wavering. He walked over them and set his hands on Hayley's shoulders. "We're supposed to encourage her kindness. How can we punish her for showing compassion for this poor creature?"
The cat had jumped up on the counter and was sniffing the brownies.
"I should give your father a spanking," Hayley muttered. She rose her hand and gave Hope exactly one smack. Hope was quite surprised that it didn't hurt. As she put her little girl back on her feet, Hayley pointed with her index finger in Hope's face. "If you go to you dad after I tell you no again, you're getting blistered with Aunt Freya's hairbrush." Then she looked over at Klaus and gave him a sweet smile that imminently made all the hairs on the back of Klaus' neck rise up. "After we make sure the kitten doesn't already belong to someone else, we can keep it. But your father will be in charge of the litter box."
"Thank you so much!" Hope gave her mom a quick hug before grabbing her new kitten, who had a mouthful of brownie in her mouth, rushing out of the kitchen. "I want to show Pumpkin my room."
"Why is she naming a white cat Pumpkin?" Kol wondered out loud as he made his way over to the brownies. Whenever there was something sugary afoot, he was never far away. He saw the cat bite marks on the pan of brownies and shrugged before cutting a off a piece from the other side and popped it in his mouth. "It doesn't even have orange eyes."
"Her genius is clearly beyond you," Klaus said.
"Klaus," Hayley said as she cut herself a piece of the brownie, "if I ever catch Elijah cleaning the litter box, you'll be the one getting Freya's brush."
"You don't have any authority over me," Klaus said.
"But I do," Freya said sweetly before giving him a good whack on the buns. "And I think Hayley's idea is wonderful."
"Where did you come from?" Klaus asked.
"Magic," Freya said, "can you cut me a piece too, Hayley?"
Like hell I will.
Cami/Davina, 2014
"No," Davina said.
Marcel turned around. "This isn't a discussion, D."
Davina folded her arms. "I am not moving back in with Klaus."
"You've been shunned, which makes you vulnerable," Marcel said as he walked over to her and set his hands on Davina's shoulders, "and now that you're under Klaus' protection - "
"Ew," Davina said.
"Believe me when I say I get it," Marcel said with a smile Davina had some trouble interpreting, "but like it or not, you're in his inner circle and that makes you a target."
"I can protect myself," Davina said.
Marcel's fingers curled into her shoulders, "You're not as powerful as you used to be. And the witches in this city are nothing compared to Aya's witches. Most of the Sisters are loyal to her and consider you the reason she's dead."
Davina stood her ground, "Then Kol can protect me."
"Two school children were able to kill Kol," Davina and Marcel turned to face Cami in unison. Cami was walking over to them. "You have every reason to mistrust authority and in an ideal world, you would be able to heal somewhere you felt safe." Cami grabbed Davina by the hand and pulled her across the loft, "But we don't live in an ideal world. So sometimes we have to settle for the least ugly option and work our way through it." Cami sat down on the couch. "I'll handle this, Marcel. Meanwhile, get to work moving her stuff into Kol's room."
Marcel shook his head, "There is no way in hell I'm letting Davina live in the same room as Kol."
"This isn't up for discussion," Cami was hoping she could channel Elijah enough to get them to obey. Which, she realized when they both glared at her, was kind of stupid of her. Marcel and Davina were not particularly inclined to obey Elijah. And it's not like Cami didn't get it. Maybe it was because she was spending so much time with Klaus or maybe it was because becoming a vampire killed so much of her humanity, but she was tired of losing people she loved. She was officially out of patience.
"I'm not just some little kid you can order around," Davina snapped.
"Actually," Cami pulled Davina between her legs, "you are. You're seventeen and Marcel is your legal guardian." She turned to Marcel, who was looking a little too smug for her liking, "If you want to keep your relationship with Davina past eighteen, you have to meet her half-way. Move her stuff in with Kol and we'll figure the rest out as we go."
"I can't believe you think it's appropriate for a Davina to share a bed with a boy," Marcel said.
"It's not like she can get pregnant," Cami muttered. Now Davina was looking too smug for Cami's liking. "None of this appropriate, Marcel. But you threw appropriate away when you chose New Orleans over Davina and Rebekah."
Marcel narrowed his eyes.
Cami didn't let him speak. "When she came back to life, you should have left this cursed city and given her a real home and some therapy instead of turning her back over to her abusive coven. But you didn't, she's in more danger than ever, so we have to make do with what we have."
To Marcel's credit, he did looked a little ashamed.
"You're a good man, Marcel," Cami said gently, "you have it in you to learn from your mistakes and do right by the people you love. I was complicate in letting Davina down, too. All we can do is move forward."
"I'm standing right here," Davina said, "and fully capable of making choices about my life."
Cami almost said the grown-ups are taking. She owed Elijah an apology for some of the unkind thoughts she'd occasionally had about how he handled leading his family. Parenting teenagers in constant danger of being murdered could drive one to madness.
"What are you planning to do?" Marcel asked.
"What I should have done when she ran off during the music festival," Cami began to undo the fly of Davina's jeans, "and give this little girl a very sore bottom. It's going to be bare and she deserves some privacy. Get out of here so I can bust her butt."
"You can't let her do this, Marcel," Davina shrieked.
"It's long overdue, D," Marcel said, "I should have done it myself the first time you threw a tantrum, but I can't stand to see you in pain."
"Then leave us," Cami said, "because I intend to make sure she won't be able to sit down comfortably for a week."
He shot Davina a devastated look before vamping out. Davina was frozen on the spot. It made Cami's job of pulling her jeans and underwear down to her knees that much easier.
"I don't want a spanking," Davina whined as Cami guided the girl over her knee.
Cami made sure her legs were completely supported by the couch before saying, "It wouldn't be much of a punishment if you did."
"Therapists are supposed to be against spanking," Davina wiggled and fussed but she wasn't using her magic.
For a moment, Cami was the one who was frozen. She felt her heart in her throat. This little girl was extremely unhappy about her coming punishment, but she wasn't fighting it. Somehow, Cami had been able to earn Davina's trust. Cami vowed to keep earning it. And she had to start making the pale cheeks resting across her lap very red.
"Normally, I am," Cami said as she wrapped her left arm around Davina's middle and rose her hand, "but we're far away from normal. Sometimes we have to use a little violence to prevent worse violence down the road."
Davina was stiff as a rod during the first round. Cami decided the best way to spank her was to smack down one cheek and then follow it up by smacking up the other. She wanted every single inch of Davina's backside soundly punished. It was pretty clear why Davina seemed unmoved after that first round. Her skin remained pale and cool to the touch. Cami needed to hit her quite a bit harder.
Cami steeled herself. She put a bit of her supernatural strength into her next smack. The difference was immediate. Davina yelped in surprised pain. Cami had left behind a clear pink handprint on the top of her left cheek. Davina kept yelping and hissing as Cami turned her ivory skin pink.
"I'll do what you say!" Davina promised. Then. "Owe. Please. Oche. It hurts." She began to drum her feet against the couch. "No mooooooreeee!"
"Yes, you will," Cami told her, "but still you have a lot more of this coming."
Davina burst into loud tears. Cami wanted to stop, to pull this girl into into her arms. She wanted to tell Davina that everything was going to be okay. That she'd keep her safe forever. But only a few months ago, Cami had killed herself and come back a monster. Comforting Davina like that would be a lie and she deserved the truth.
So Cami kept spanking. Initially she'd hated the sound of her palm connecting with Davina's buttocks. It was loud and unpleasant and was soon joined by pleas, tears, pained moans. But as she worked, Cami grew to appreciate the music they were making together. It wasn't fun, but it was necessary. The loud cracks followed by girlish shouts was serving a very important purpose: keeping this precious child safe from herself.
Davina's skin felt warm under Cami's hand. The skin was bright red. Davina was sniffling. When a new smack didn't come, she sighed in relief. "Can I get up?"
"Yes," Cami said. Davina's shoulder dropped. "I have a plastic hairbrush in my purse. I want you to go and get it for me so I can apply it right here," she gave a heavy smack in the center of her behind.
"I don't want to!" Davina said. She turned around and looked up. Her face was almost as red as her bottom and her hair was sweaty. The tear streaks on her face almost convinced Cami to give in and end the spanking.
But Cami was not going to let Davina down again. She rose her hand. "I guess you want a few more rounds of this before we get to the brush."
Davina pouted and gave her best puppy dog eyes. Cami gave her a pair of extra hard smacks to the top of her thighs.
"Owe," Davina moaned. She sniffled again. "I'll get the hairbrush," she said, "ma'am."
Cami let her up. Davina rubbed her tenderized cheeks with both hands as she dragged her feet down the loft to where Cami's purse was. About half way through her walk, she lost her jeans and panties. She found the pink hairbrush. As she walked back to Cami, she kept rubbing her sore bottom with her spare hand.
Said bottom was about to become much sorer. Davina handed Cami the hairbrush and crawled back over Cami's knee. "Please," she whispered, "not too hard."
"You're getting a sound paddling with this," Cami wrapped her left arm around her hips again, "you're going to be one very sorry young lady when I'm done with you."
"I am sorry!" Davina promised.
"For what?" Cami asked.
"For being selfish and rude," Davina said. She twisted around to face Cami again. Her clear blue eyes were filled with remorse. "You're trying to do what's best for me." She swallowed. "What if Klaus tries to kill me?"
"I won't let him," Cami said. She set the hairbrush aside and pulled Davina into her arms to hold her and kiss her forehead. "I'm kinda the main reason Aurora got those white oak bullets and he couldn't bring himself to even yell at me all that much."
Davina curled close and rested her head on Cami's chest. "He loves Hope and you and he hugged Kol when I brought him back to life. Those are the only good things about him."
Cami kissed her hair and held her close. "There a few more. For one, he loves Marcel as deeply as you do."
Davina huffed. Her pout was cute. "He's bad at showing it, then."
"He is," Cami agreed, "he didn't have much of a role model for a father." She gently caressed Davina's arm by moving her hand up and down it, slowly. "Which does not excuse his actions, just explains them. But he's capable of so much good. And I hope he some day he'll own up to feeling bad about hurting you and try and make it up to you."
"He's the worst grandpa ever," Davina said.
Cami couldn't help but laugh. "At least for now."
But Davina was still afraid. She looked so young when she turned her fearful eyes to Cami. "What if something happens to you and Marcel and he tries to kill me?"
"You'll still have his four siblings to protect you. Three of which are are incapable of being killed."
"Elijah doesn't care about me," Davina hid her face in Cami's neck, but not before Cami saw the depth of pain in her eyes. "He just pretended to so he could use me."
"Elijah doesn't think he deserves anything good," Cami corrected, "and you are very good." Davina looked up at Cami. "I want you to keep what I'm about to tell you between us. Can you keep a secret?"
"I tell Kol everything," Davina said. She had taken to rub her sore bottom during this reprieve. It made her look young and sweet. Cami wished she didn't have to light it on fire soon.
Cami suddenly understood another reason Klaus was a megalomaniac. There was something euphoric about a plan coming together that would get you something you wanted which had previously been beyond your grasp.
"You can tell Kol," Cami said.
"He'll keep it a secret," Davina said with the confidence of a girl not rubbing her sore mounds and about to find them much sorer soon. The hell of it was that Cami believed her. "He'll do anything for me."
"I believe you," Cami said. Davina's smile was something precious. Cami hugged her more tightly than before. "Sometimes I worry that the next person Elijah will push away is Hope."
Davina scoffed. "He's always holding her and playing music for her. She's the only he'd betray Klaus for."
"Until he makes a mistake," Cami said, "and he will, because we all do at some point. He'll pull away. And Hope will blame herself."
"Like Marcel did," Davina said.
"Only worse," Cami said, "Marcel figured out Elijah pushed him away to keep Klaus from doing something he couldn't take back. He decided to reach out to Elijah as an adult and start to fix things between them. Hope might not and more importantly shouldn't have to do that."
"Is this your way of convincing me to give Elijah another chance?" Davina looked like she'd rather go on another road trip with a homicidal Viking vampire keen to murder his child over that.
That was not quite what Cami was after, no. Elijah needed to be the one to make the first move with Davina and when she told Kol, new opportunities would likely present themselves. "Not every problem can be solved, but sometimes it's easier to live with someone you dislike if you understand them."
"If you say so." Davina rolled her eyes. Cami gave her a firm look. Davina eyed the hairbrush and rubbed her bottom frantically. "You don't have to spank me anymore!"
Cami pinched her chin. "Your impulsiveness could get you killed. Your self-destructive streak could get you killed. You arrogance could get you killed. I plan to spank you out of those flaws."
"It's not arrogance if you back back it up!" Davina said.
Cami's palm itched to swat her. She listened to it. Davina yelped and pouted. "I'm not optimistic enough to think one trip over my knee will do that. I'm sure you'll be spending a lot of time over my lap and staring at the floor."
"It already hurts," Davina's lower lip trembled, "Besides, I already learned my lesson!"
Cami was done with her nonsense. "You have two choices. You'll willingly go back over my knee or I'll put you over my knee. And the second option comes with a bed time spanking."
Davina huffed. But she obeyed. Once she was securely face down and bottom up, Cami picked her hairbrush up. It wasn't anything special. Just your average plastic hard back round brush. It wasn't impressively big or thick. But it was exactly what Cami needed. The flat back would produce a suitable sting on a teenage girl's bottom and since it wasn't sturdy, Cami would have to temper her strength to keep it from breaking. She planned to make sure Davina's backside was redder than blood. And her little tantrum just now convinced Cami she needed a bruise or two as well. Cami was going to make the spanking really hurt, but she didn't want to go too far. The fragile plastic would keep her in check.
"I am in charge, young lady," Cami said as she wrapped her arm around Davina's middle for the third time. "I decide when you've learned your lesson. You need to learn to obey me. I want you to think about the consequences of disobedience while I light up your little behind. Keep in mind that the next time you disobey me, I'm going to paddle you with something that will hurt a lot more."
"Cami," Davina whined. Cami was going to put at stop to that, at least for a few days while Davina nursed her severely punished skin. "I'll never disobey you again! You don't need to paddle me with a hairbrush."
"You probably will," Cami said gently. She kissed Davina's forehead. "And I'll give you another spanking. It's going to take time for all my lessons to stick." Cami tapped Davina's skin fondly with her hairbrush. The redness had faded into a pink hue. No worries. Cami would take care of that. "But I think this will teach you to start thinking twice before you act."
Davina drummed her legs unhappily and turned to watch Cami raise her teaching tool. "Nooooooooooo," she begged.
Cami made sure the first patch of skin she paddled turned red. This time, when Davina shrieked, there was no defiance in her voice. There was no anger. She was a little girl getting a good spanking. She was crying because the punishment she'd earned hurt.
The bottom of a teenager as stubborn and gifted as Davina would not benefit from a few taps from a hairbrush. She needed a sure and determined adult to light her buns on fire. And Cami was going to be that adult.
She spanked Davina with the brush in the same way she had with her hand. Down one cheek and up the other. Her rosy pink cheeks quickly turned cherry red under Cami's determination. Davina wailed and howled as she was given her long overdue butt blistering. She rocked her hips and kicked her legs and pounded her fists on the couch.
And, still, Cami paddled her.
She paddled Davina with the force of a woman determined to keep her child safe. Davina's well padded buttocks were extremely resilient. Cami made sure her hairbrush pushed Davina's rounded mounds flat each time she smacked her charge. But they always popped back up, ready for more discipline.
Davina was crying too hard to talk, but sometimes she was able to get our a "please," or "I'm sorry," between her consistently intense howls. Cami paddled her behind until Davina was spent and limp over her lap.
It broke her heart to do what she had to do next. But Cami could deal with a broken heart. She didn't want to deal with a dead Davina. So she picked a vulnerable spot right above Davina's right thigh to bruise. She smacked the spot with her makeshift paddle over and over. Davina was extremely unhappy with that and used up the last of her energy shrieking and rolling her hips. Cami's supernatural senses made it easy to account for that. Her brush connected with that patch of skin until the red boomed white and deepened into an ugly brown.
"Who makes the rules?" Cami asked.
"You, ma'am," Davina croaked.
"And what will happen if you break them?" Cami pressed.
"I'll get a spanking on your knee," Davina said. She turned her head. Red face and tear drenched. Her sweaty hair was in clumps around her head. "I'm really sorry, Cami. Will you forgive me?"
Cami dropped her hairbrush. "Completely and totally."
Davina smiled and yawned. She reached back with both hands and tenderly rubbed her soundly spanked skin as Cami pulled her into a hug and kissed her hair again and again. The girl could hardly keep her eyes open.
"Go to sleep, sweetheart," Cami said, "I'll get you home, safe and sound."
"Thank you," she mumbled before falling asleep in Cami's arms.
