"We shouldn't be together Nezu. Hell, we can't even if we wanted to."
"We can Fujiko. You just have to trust me."
"I do, but I can't at the same time. Because what if someone finds out? What if Ms. Rose, or Izumi, or Shiori finds out? What will we do then?"
"We'll work things out-"
"No, we can't. So we're done. I'm sorry."
Those words rung throughout Nezu's mind as he was laying down, playing with a ball. The remembrance of his first break-up and what was said between him and his girlfriend - I mean master, really hurt his heart. He wanted to be with her forever, but the rules that were set up by Sister Rose were set and sealed in place for a reason supposedly. That didn't make Nezu change his mind on the whole situation though. It just made things worse, as the only thing that was holding them back from being together was a rule. One singular rule.
"Stupid rule."
Nezu arose from his bed, getting a whiff of the faint smell of cologne he sprayed on himself earlier. He slid his feet into his comfy slippers and walked outside his room, hearing faint sobs and cries once he stood still. He observed the sounds and soon realized that they were coming from no one other than Fujiko. He rushed into her room, slightly slamming the door open. It made Fujiko stop crying, since her attention was of course directed from that.
"N-Nezu?"
"Why were you crying?"
"...B-because..."
"Because what-"
"Because of our b-break up. I really want t-to be with you Nezu-"
He was already at her side, hugging her as she started to cry again. The physical affection made her tear up and cry right into Nezu's shoulder. He felt his blue tee get slightly stained with tears, but he could care less right now. As long as Fujiko had a shoulder to cry on, a person to be comforted by, a place to be herself in, that's all that mattered. Once she finished letting her feelings express themselves, she looked up at Nezu with her puffy, teary, and red eyes. Yet, she was smiling. She seemed a little bit happier than before, and Nezu didn't know why.
"What's gotten into you now?"
"Your presence. You letting me cry while in your arms like that really made me happy. Thank you for that Nezu."
"You're welcome Fujiko."
A brief block of silence managed to slip in between the two, filling the room entirely with it. Things got suddenly awkward, until...
"Nezu, are we back together?"
"Officially or?"
"Don't be an idiot. You know what I mean!"
"Alright, alright. We're back together baby."
Nezu swiftly embraced Fujiko back into his arms and into a heartfelt kiss. Some tears managed to slip from Fujiko's eyes, presumably due to the happiness radiating off of her.
