Almost Everything

Chapter 4

authors note : Thank you my readers for enjoying and getting invested into the story.

The lips i used to call home.

We were shaking blind and hazy.

How the hell did we lose

Sight of us again.?

Time passed slower then Haley had expected. The candles being blown out. Pictures being snapped. Videos being recorded.

She was getting a real up close glimpse into their life as a family. She walked along the home. Scanning the walls seeing various snapshots.

Haley felt that nagging and longing begin to stir within her.

She was three years away from 30. And hadn't really dated since she left this town.

She could say she was too busy with work. Which in a way was true.

But honestly she kind of turned off her heart and feelings.

It was easier that way. She had enough emotional and mental bumps and bruises to last a lifetime.

She was happiest in Tree Hill but in the same breath.

Haley was determined to never come back.

It was just too hard. She kept in contact with her friends.

They understood. So why did she feel so guilty.?

Haley ate her piece of cake and drank her juice.

Watching as Nathan and Eugene played together.

She needed some air. She blinked back tears.

As she raced towards the front door. Closing the door behind herself.

Her hand on her stomach. While a memory passed by.

"Look at this. I'm showing already." Haley exclaimed. Lifting her shirt.

Nathan stared up at her lovingly.

Instead of her flat stomach. In its place was a small round belly.

She was only ten weeks so they were keeping it themselves.

"The doctor did say their were two heartbeats."

"Twins. Which means you're body changing faster is to expected."

"You are really pretty Haley James Scott." Nathan stated matter of fact.

As he leaned over kissing her hard.

"You have to say that. You just couldn't go to sleep." Haley replied.

"You know how i get when it rains." Nathan replied.

Haley felt a hand go on her shoulder. Which caused her to turn around.

"I just wanted to see how you are." Nathan said.

"I'm ready to go. I am just working up the courage to get over there." Haley replied.

"Are you finally going to drop the act now.? Or is what we went through a forgotten memory for you.?" Nathan asked.

Haley swallowed hard. "Did you seriously just ask me that. None of this is easy or simple for me." She said with her voice breaking.

Haley made her way out of the home. And drove back to the hotel.
