Almost Everything

Chapter 5

And I know it's long gone and that magic's not here no more

And I might be okay but I'm not fine at all.

And I know it's long gone and there was nothing else I could do

And I forget about you long enough to forget why I needed to.

I tried to write out a text that would explain why i left so suddenly.

I kept typing just to erase it. So i decided to just wait.

And call them when i get off the plane.

I barely unpacked which turned out to work better then i expected.

Maybe coming back here was a mistake.? Haley thought to herself.

Knocking at her hotel door. Stopped her packing.

She wanted to avoid it. But the person wouldn't leave.

Given her miminal interaction with people in town.

She had a strong feeling she knew who it was.

So when she opened the front door and saw Nathan.

She wasn't surprised.

"Hales i'm sorry. I shouldn't of brought up."

"Any of that. How do i know how you're dealing and coping.?"

"We haven't seen or spoken to each other in years." Nathan proclaimed.

Haley sighed deeply. "Who's fault is that.? I never wanted to get divorced. But i didn't have much of a choice did i.?" She questioned.

Turning away from him.

Nathan entered the hotel room. Closing the door behind himself.

"That's not fair. The fire wasn't my fault or yours."

"When are going to stop blaming me.?" Nathan questioned.

Haley stared back at him.

"We never found out who rigged the house. What i blame you for."

"Is how you reacted afterwards. For weeks and months." Haley replied.

"I was the one who made the therapy appointments."

"You shut me out. What did you want from me Haley!" Nathan exclaimed.

"I'm sorry that i was in so much pain and agony."

"I couldn't be what you needed."

"But you do not understand what it was like for me."

"The babies. Giving birth to babies that wouldn't live besides a few days."

"Instead of recovering from delivery. I was preparing to say goodbye to them. On my own!"

"They took you from me. You let them take you away from our reality!"

"I was broken and you retreated to the Scotts."

"To the exact people who don't believe i'm good enough for you." Haley proclaimed.

The hotel room door opened slowly.

Deb and Dan soon walking inside.

"Nate. I knew it was you. You're home." Deb said.

"And he isn't alone." Dan added in. Looking to Haley.
