Almost Everything
Chapter 6
authors note : Thank you my readers.
If something's missing in me
To go and find it in you.
Nathan let out a frustated sigh. Turning to his parents.
"The two of you shouldn't of followed me in here."
"I was going to reach out eventually." Nathan proclaimed.
"Why are you wasting time trying to mend anything with her.?" Deb asked.
"Or did you forget that it was us who took you in."
"Because she had abandoned you and checked out of the marriage.?" Nathan questioned. Looking to his son.
"There is more going on here then either of you know."
"Haley was pregnant. The fire. Changed that."
"This isn't right the both of you ganging up on her like this." Nathan said.
"All of you. Get out of my room!" Haley yelled. Practically pushing both Deb and Dan out before they could say anything else.
"Hales. I'm sorry about that." "I'm sorry about alot of things." Nathan said.
Haley ran her hands through her hair. Staring up at him.
"We've been divorced for years now. I'm sure you've moved on."
"I'm trying to move on too." Haley said.
"I can't move on. There is only one Haley James."
"And i'm still in with her." Nathan stated matter of fact.
Closing the gap between them. As he kissed her.
Haley kissed him back. Unable to push him away.
Until she broke the kiss at some point.
Their eyes locked on each other.
"Stay here. In town. In this room."
"I've been running too. Not wanting to face what we lost."
"But we were brought back together. That has to mean something." Nathan insisted.
Haley focused her gaze on him.
Nathan represented her biggest happiness yet also her pain. Her heartbreak.
Haley was his weakness. His heart.
When she kissed again.
Nathan knew there was nothing more to be said.
Haley had been using her career as anchor. An excuse.
She was lost. And Nathan gave her calm.
To her inner turmoil.
...
Hours Later
In the darkness she normally tossed and turned. Not really sleeping.
She had caught a glimpse of it when they were tearing off the clothing items separating them.
Around Nathan's neck on a chain was his wedding ring.
