Sammy, and Kenji side by side tore their way through the jungle taking the lead of the campers. Sammy kept glancing back at the others. Brooklyn and Darius both had a tight grip on Yaz. All of them were growing exhausted as they trekked on.

They had come to the conclusion that following along the main roads would have left them exposed… but even with the covers of the trees it wasn't going to be any easier. Or any safer…Sammy held the ACU taser out whenever they went forward while Kenji pushed branches out of the way. Last time Kenji had been trusted with the taser he shocked himself in a dazed panic.

"Guys…" Darius called from behind. "I think we need to stop." He gestured a sly glance at the athlete whose teeth were bared tight. Even in the dark Sammy could see Yasmina's chest heave with effort. Sammy took his hint. Yaz was stubborn and didn't like help and if they weren't careful they could push her too far and there was no doubt about it, Yaz would do it… Sammy shuddered.

Her heart filled with dread… the athlete wasn't looking too good. "I think you're right Darius" She glanced around briefly. "We're all exhausted, Y'all I need to take a break."

"Yeah," Kenji yawned. "Just a quick stop." Plopping down on a rock.

Skeptically Brooklyn inputted. "Is it safe too?"

Darius hesitated. Looking around. They were in a small clearing with trees hanging above them, Rocks and twigs scattered about, The moon's glow slicing through the darkness giving them some kind of light. "Only for a minute. I don't want to risk anything. But yeah, we need to stop." He paused. "We have to stop."

Slowly Brooklyn and Darius worked to prop Yaz against a tree. Sammy watched…

Yasmina growled, "We should have kept going."

Darius looked to be in deep thought… trying to come up with a better reason than… 'Yaz your injured and we need to go at a slower pace to prevent further damaging your knee'

"Y'all that fall from the zipline really messed me up." It wasn't a lie. When they had fallen from the zipline all of them were scraped and bruised… and Ben… Ben was gone…

"Yeah." Darius agreed absently.

Sammy looked around at her friends. Broken. They all looked broken and hopeless. She didn't like seeing them this way… but it was true. Nobody was coming back and neither was Ben. Sammy slowly went over to Yaz… you can do this Sammy.

"Yaz…"

She looked up, her breath fogging out in the cold air. "What do you want?" It was hard to tell if it was meant to come off hostile or if it was the pain from her knee… nope, definitely hostile.

She may have messed up… but she still had to try. "Can I please take a look at your knee."

Yasmina rolled her eyes. "Whatever."

Sammy was slightly surprised… it was clear that the athlete was in pain… otherwise Sammy doubted Yaz would have given her a second chance. If you could call this… a second chance… Sammy sat down, gently picking up the track star's knee. She let out a hiss discomfort.

"Sorry-"

Sammy gently wrapped her fingers around her knee. It was warm and puffy. Definitely swollen. Something on the inside had shifted… but Sammy wasn't sure what… Slowly Sammy pulled a rock closer, awkwardly placing it under the crook in her knee to elevate the injury. She felt around… she didn't think it was dislocated… She didn't have anything to help the athlete or take the hurt away… but she could still apply the best of her knowledge to their situation.

"Alright-" Darius interrupted. "We need to make a decision…" Sammy's stomach twisted and dropped. "We could keep going and progress through the night if we could stop here for the night…"

The clearing went silent as they took this into consideration. To keep going meant working in the dark with dangers… to stop meant being out here with the Indominus Rex…

"I know this is probably a lame Idea…" The pinkette tries. "But…" Her emerald eyes scanned across the darkness… like she was looking for… no, waiting for something to burst from the bushes. "I don't know how much farther I can go."

"Me either." Kenji said. His face conceals a grim expression.

Sammy looked back at Yaz. She had her head pressed up against the tree, her eyes closed. She was awake, just tired. "I think we need to stay here." Sammy said. For Yaz's sake.

"I'll take the first watch." Darius nodded.

As Sammy sat down she looked around helplessly at her camp fam. They were still here... but they were broken... this was point break and Sammy would do whatever it took to help her new family...
