Chapter 2: Assassin x Devil

Loid Forger a.k.a Agent Twilight, walked through the busy streets of Ostiana. His body was covered by a brown trench coat to protect him from the chilly autumn air and a warm brown fedora adorning his head. The secret agent carefully maneuvered his way through the crowd of people to enter the hidden back streets of the city.

Waiting for him there was his informant Franky Franklin. The man's head was square shaped with a big bushy afro. His overall appearance gave off a very scruffy look, one that most people wouldn't give a second glance to. His outfit mirrored Loid's to hide his body as much as possible. The two agents stared at each other for a moment before Loid began. "Did you manage to find what I asked for?"

Franky huffed. "Of course, I did. Who do you take me for? An amature?"

"Yes."

"I didn't mean for you to actually answer! And what do you mean 'yes'!?"

Loid rolled his eyes. "So, exactly what did you find?"

Franky glared at him before pulling out several files from his bag. Loid took each one, opening the first one that was titled Son. "You weren't wrong about her name being familiar. Son Pan's family is actually bigger than we would've thought." Franky said.

Loid's eyes widened slightly. "She's the granddaughter of Hercule Satan." A memory from his childhood resurfaced through his mind. The televised announcement of the Cell Games had shaken the entire world. The power that the threat held had even momentarily paused the war that tore his life apart until 10 days later Cell was bested by Hercule Satan. Crowning the wrestler as the strongest man in the world. Upon his joining of Wise, it was revealed to him that Hercule Satan may not have been the one to defeat Cell. The theory behind it had never been proven to be true, but the intelligence agency believes that there was more happening on that day than the world was allowed to believe.

"Not only that but look at her parents. Videl Satan or now Son Videl used to help the police force deal with crimes back when she was a teenager. Most likely due to her being the Champion's daughter and all. Currently, she runs her own martial arts dojo here in the city." Franky explained.

"Not abnormal. Her father being a martial artist would lead her down that path in life." Loid hummed. His eyes trailed over to the image of her husband: Son Gohan. This file seemed to be the biggest piece of info that Franky had found.

"Her husband's history is a lot stranger. From what I found it seemed that Son Gohan didn't start official schooling until he was 16 years old. Beforehand he was simply homeschooled. He and Videl went to the same high school, Orange High, and Gohan graduated at the top of his class. He had the highest test scores the district had ever seen in years." Frank revealed.

"Orange High School." Loid knew that wasn't a school in Ostiana, which meant that Gohan and Videl were not originally from Ostiana or Westalis. Their files indicated that the two were born in Japiana. One of the other neighboring countries that weren't affected by the war between Westalis and Ostiana. The question now would be why would the two see a reason to move to Ostiana? He thought back to how Anya mentioned that Son Pan was a new student, meaning that she may've been a transfer student.

"I can guess you're probably thinking about their reason for moving." Franky's voice brought back his attention. "Apparently, whatever school Son Pan went to before suggested Eden Academy as an alternative that could support their daughter's incredible intelligence. She passed the test scores with flying colors and was pushed up a few grades to Anya's class."

"A fellow classmate that smart could help Anya approve her grades. It would seem she has a good track with making friends." Loid smirked slightly as he thought of Anya. Glancing back down at Gohan's file, Loid saw that the patriarch was an invited guest at multiple seminars here in Ostiana. Specializing in studying the evolution of insects and new species. "If I want to gain more information on this Gohan's personality, perhaps I could meet him at one of the seminars."

Franky saw that his partner was once again absorbed in his thoughts, probably thinking of plans to further his own goals. "I wasn't done! I think the most unique part of this Son Gohan is his parents."

Loid raised a brow. "Are they as influential as Hercule Satan and Videl?"

"Maybe, not as much. But his mother Son Chi-Chi is apparently a princess."

"...Are you lying to me?"

"No! Look at the file right there!" Franky exclaimed. "She's the daughter of this Ox-king guy! He's the ruler of this small kingdom! The guy's famous for the rampages and pillaging he used to commit in his youth!"

"Okay, and what makes this unique other than his mother being a princess."

"Think about it! If people knew that Son Gohan is basically a prince, wouldn't that add to climbing a social ladder?"

"He has a good point. It's not much but being the heir to a kingdom would bring you certain perks in life." Loid admitted.

"Not only that, but his dad is, like, super famous in the martial arts world! Apparently, the guy participated in multiple World Tournaments in his youth. He even won the 23rd one! Making him a Champion as well!" Franky added.

"The World Tournaments?" Loid remembered his mother and other adults telling him stories about them when he was a kid. About how big of an opportunity it was to even be able to go see one of them. Apparently, during one of the tournaments a giant monkey had appeared and went on a rampage. He shook his head, never having believed that particular story. There was no way anything like that could ever exist. Loid read the name on the file, and it was the smallest file that Franky had gotten. "Son Goku?"

"Yup! Guy won the 23rd World Tournament, defeated Ma Junior, and got engaged to the Ox-King's daughter all on the same day. Quite the accomplishment, huh?" Franky was jealous of Goku's luck. If only he had the skills to impress a woman like that so much she'd want to marry him.

"If he's so famous, then how come his file is so small?" Loid asked.

Franky shrugged. "Hell, if I know. After the tournament the guy pretty much disappeared off the face of the Earth. The only other piece of evidence of his existence were some medical statements about him having every bone in his body shattered."

"Every bone shattered? Must be why he wouldn't appear anymore. No birth certificate or anything?" Loid asked.

"Nope. It's as if the guy just appeared one day out of thin air. Heh, wouldn't it be funny if he was like some alien or something you see in movies-hey!? Where are you going!?" Franky exclaimed as Loid walked away. Glancing down at the crate next to them, a few bills of money were left behind. Franky rolled his eyes, taking the payment, and going in the other direction.

Loid hid the files in his coat as he rejoined the busy street. "Son Gohan, Son Videl, and Son Pan. It would seem that luck may've finally shined down on me for once. If I can get the Forger family close to them, then maybe our status will increase, and help bring Donnovan's attention to us. Good job, Anya." Loid thought with a small smile. He reached into his other pocket and pulled out a short list. "Now to get those groceries. More dog food for Bond, Anya wanted that new flavor of peanuts that recently came out, and Yor wanted that new kitchen knife set she saw on a commercial."

Yor Briar Forger absentmindedly walked down the street, walking Bond. The Matriarch of the Forger family figured she could get Bond's walk in before they had to pick Anya up from school. The little peanut had been so excited to talk to her new friend, she almost bolted out of the house before she or Loid could stop her. Yor smiled, happy that Anya could enjoy things like friendship, something that she nor her little brother Yuri could enjoy much of in their childhood. It was her reason she took up her job after all.

Oh, she meant her secret job of being an Assassin. But that's not important at the moment.

Suddenly, Bond stopped in his tracks, snapping Yor back into reality. The mother was confused as to why Bond had stopped in his tracks. "What's wrong, Bond?"

"Woof!"

"I don't understand…" She couldn't speak dog, but Anya seemed to understand Bond perfectly though. Perhaps her daughter had some special ability to understand dogs? It's pretty cute to think about.

"Woof!" Bond was pointing his head at the building across the street. Looking over, Yor noticed it was a martial arts dojo.

"A dojo? What about it?" Yor questioned. Since she wasn't focused enough on holding onto his leash, the dog was able to force himself free. Running across the street to the dojo much to Yor's horror.

"Bond!?" Yor chased after the dog without missing a beat. Her speed out matched the cars that were driving by and reached her dog, who was panting heavily on the side of the sidewalk. Yor quickly grasped the leash and knelt down to Bond, worry and fear in her eyes. "Bond! You can't just run across the street like that! What would I tell Anya if something bad happened to you!?"

Bond had the decency to look ashamed, eliciting Yor to wrap her arms around him. "It's okay, Bond. Just don't do it again, okay?"

"Woof!"

"Good boy!"

"Uh? Miss?"

Both owner and dog turned to the voice. Seeing a woman around Yor's height with short black hair, a red headband sitting peacefully on her head, and black eyes standing in front of them. She was dressed in a white GI with a black belt tied around her waist. "Are you two, okay? One of my students saw you running across the street chasing after your dog. I just wanted to make sure you were okay."

Yor held a small blush. "O-oh! Sorry, for disrupting your class! Yes, my dog and I are perfectly fine!"

"That's good to hear. Ah, I don't think I introduced myself. My name is Son Videl and this is my dojo." Videl held out her hand.

"Son?" Yor blinked, surprised. "Um…you wouldn't happen to be the mother of someone named Son Pan, would you?" Yor asked.

Videl raised a brow. "I am. How do you know my daughter?"

"My name is Yor Forger. My daughter's name is Anya, she and your daughter became friends the other day." Yor took Videl's hand.

Videl's eyes widened slightly from the force of Yor's grip. It wasn't hard or anything, but years of practicing martial arts teaches one many things about people. Especially those who also practiced fighting. Videl could feel the toughness and firmness in Yor's grip. With a bit of help using the KI sense that Gohan had taught her, Videl could feel a strong wave of KI coming from this mild-mannered looking woman.

"Can't judge a book by its cover it seems." Videl thought. "Now that you mention it, Pan did mention making two friends at school. It made me happy to hear that her first day at a new school went so well for her."

Yor nodded her head. "I felt the same way when Anya started school. Though there were a few issues…" Yor laughed nervously as she remembered Anya punching Damian in the face on her first day of school. Videl was slightly confused, but she didn't press the issue further. In fact, she had something else in mind.

"Yor, if you wouldn't mind, would you like to see the dojo?" Videl asked.

"I-I wouldn't want to intrude-"

"Nonsense. In fact, I would actually like to spar with you if possible." Videl said.

"S-spar!?" Yor gasped. That was a terrible idea! She couldn't possibly fight someone, especially since she didn't want to risk hurting this nice lady and ruin Anya's chances of keeping her friend. A few outlandish imaginary scenarios popped into her head. All of them ending with Yor accidentally killing Videl and destroying Anya's friendships. Shaking her head to get rid of the horrible images, Yor looked back at Videl. "I-I can't! I don't really practice martial arts!"

Videl shook her head, feeling reminded of Gohan all of a sudden. "I could feel it in your hand during that shake. You definitely practice some form of martial arts. You don't have to worry about hurting anyone, trust me it'll be fine. And I want to give my students a good example of what a good spar looks like."

Yor wiggled nervously, still unsure. It wasn't until Bond lightly pushed her from behind that Yor figured that he also wanted her to join in for some reason. Looking at her watch, she still had a while before needing to pick up Anya. "Okay. I'll spar with you."

Videl smiled. "Thank you, Yor. I think this will be more fun than you think."

Yor still wasn't so sure about that. She had a feeling this was all going to go terribly.

After changing into a similar GI as Videl's students, Yor stood in front of the sensei as her plentiful young students watched from the sidelines. Bond was also allowed inside of the dojo and was watching on the sides as well.

"Go, sensei!"

"Kick her butt, sensei!"

"You got this!"

Yor felt the weirdness of having everyone in the audience being against you. Was this how sports teams felt when playing in away games?

"Woof! Woof!"

Yor found herself giggling, waving to Bond. "Okay, I at least have one supporter on my side."

Videl tightened the belt around her waist. She motioned for her students to quiet down before turning back to Yor. "Are you ready, Yor?"

Yor gulped, that uneasiness coming right back. "Y-yes!"

Videl frowned at her, making Yor wonder if she had done something wrong. "Stop being so worried. Nobody's going to get hurt, alright? If things get too far, we'll stop, okay?"

"Y-yes!"

"Good. Then just to ease things up, I'll start!" Before Videl even finished speaking, she was already rushing in. The sensei had her hand pulled back before striking at Yor. To her surprise, the housewife easily dodged the attack by tilting her head. Videl repeated the strikes with quick efficiency, and Yor dodged each one.

Yor was surprised that Videl was moving this fast. She had expected the teacher to be more skilled than the men she fought during her jobs, but this was different. Especially, since Videl's attacks were growing faster with each dodge she made. The assassin gasped lightly when Videl's hand scraped across her face, Yor quickly jumped back. "She managed to hit me?"

Videl smirked. "Okay. I think I might have a good idea of how much of an output to use. Though, all Yor's done is dodge. If I want this to be more informative and to have some fun, she needs to go offensive." Videl got into a stance, inviting Yor to fight back.

Yor was completely still as she stared at Videl. "She's inviting me, right? Well, perhaps I should attack? This is a lesson, right? I'll just hold back enough to not kill her." Yor took a deep breath before focusing entirely on Videl, blocking out the noise from the audience.

Just like her jobs, except no killing her opponent. Should be simple.

Videl's eyes widened when Yor seemingly vanished and appeared in front of her. The sensei's instincts kicked in immediately and she dodged Yor's powerful strike. Videl hadn't expected Yor to suddenly increase her speed like that. Hell, she didn't expect Yor to get faster than she was already moving.

At least things were getting more exciting, right?

Yor kicked out her leg at Videl, forcing the sensei to block the attack, and skid across the blue mat. The assassin moved in instantly to capitalize on Videl's momentary pause.

At least that's what she attempted until Videl stopped her next attack by grabbing the wrist of her outstretched arm, gripping the collar of her GI, and flipping her over. Luckily, she knew exactly how to dislodge herself from the throw. By twisting her body around mid-air, Yor forced Videl to release her clothes. Yor backflipped through the air and landed behind Videl.

The sensei turned around and rushed her, unleashing a flurry of lightning-fast kicks that Yor had to focus on entirely to dodge. It seemed that Videl had managed to increase her speed even more, putting the assassin on the defensive.

Videl spun around to land a roundhouse kick, but Yor grabbed her leg and tripped her up. However, Videl balanced herself out by pushing her hands against the floor. Pushing out her left leg into Yor's stomach. Finally, landing a clean hit against the assassin.

Yor couldn't believe that someone was matching her in a fight, and considering that it was a spar, it meant that the both of them were holding back a lot. It made Yor question what would happen if the two decided to fight all out and if she was aiming to kill Videl. Would the martial artist be capable of keeping up with her? Or would Yor be incapable of holding a candle to her?

It was a mind-boggling question that she would never get the answer to, since Videl stood back up and clapped her hands. "Alright. I think that's enough for now."

"AW! It was just getting good!" Her students complained.

Videl smiled at them, shaking her head. "I'm sorry, everyone, but I don't think we should hold up Mrs. Forger any longer."

Yor relaxed, leaving her assassin mode. She bowed respectfully to the students. "I hope that you all found this educational."

"We did! Thank you, Mrs. Forger!"

Videl walked over to Yor. "See, didn't I tell you everything would be fine?"

Yor chuckled. "You did, sorry for being so nervous about it. I've never really fought anyone for fun before. So, it was an exciting experience." And nobody died! Mission successful!

"Sorry, if I came on too strong before. It's just that you remind me a lot of my husband when we were younger. I had to yell at him a lot just to spar with me and teach me." Videl said.

"It's fine and I would love to do this again sometime!" Yor exclaimed. Fighting someone outside of assassination missions could be seen as normal, right?

"I would love to." Videl agreed. Suddenly, her watch beeped and took her attention. "Oh! It seems it's time to pick Pan up from school. I promised her I'd take her to the ice cream shop downtown." As she said that an idea popped into her head. "Hey, how about we go together? Since both Pan and Anya are getting out of school. We can all go to the shop together. How about it, friend?" Videl held out her hand.

Yor took the hand with great enthusiasm. "I would love to! I'm sure Anya would love hanging out with her new friend and all. I'm sure we'd be allowed to invite Becky as well. Oh, I should call Loid and tell him that we're going out for ice cream." Yor took out her cell phone that Loid had bought her.

Videl nodded her head. "I should call Gohan as well and let him know." Turning to her class, Videl dismissed them to head home.

While the two mothers were busy calling their respective husbands, Bond smiled at the scene. The future-seeing dog had remembered the vision he had suddenly gotten when he and Yor were walking earlier.

Yor was happily talking with a woman of similar build. The two were dressed in white GIs, while discussing plans to hang out.

"C'mon, Bond! We're going to go pick up Anya!" Yor exclaimed after quickly changing back into her regular outfit. Videl walked up behind her, dressed in a pink dress with a red line going around the waist. She put on a dark red jacket over the dress.

"Funnily enough, my dad has a dog too. Though, he's not as active as he used to be." Videl mentioned.

"Hm? Who's your dad if you don't mind me asking?" Yor asked.

"Hercule Satan." Videl waited for the usual reaction it gives people, but Yor didn't seem to get awestruck or start asking rapid questions about her dad. In fact, the housewife looked very confused.

"...Who is that again?"

Videl comically fell over as Bond just sighed at his co-owner's obliviousness.

Chapter End

NOTE: I hope you all enjoyed this chapter of the mothers meeting! I really wanted to write that spar between the two but didn't know how to go about it. I didn't want either one to lose or win, so it ended in a draw. I think that is a lot more of a fair conclusion between their fight. And Yor has made a new friend in Videl and vice versa.

Yeah, Yor doesn't remember who Hercule is at all. Her memory of the entire Cell event isn't the best, considering that was around the time she was becoming an assassin and dealing with the fucked-up trauma that comes with it.

I'm not sure if the world knows that Goku defeated King Piccolo or not. If they do, then just go with the fact that they are unaware of it in this universe. They do know that he defeated Ma Junior at the World Tournament.

How did Franky get this information so fast? Loid works this man to the bone. That's how.

A reminder that the Z-Fighters had erased everyone's memories of Majin Buu, so nobody remembers that entire thing. Just know that Loid and Yor did give their energy to the Spirit Bomb. Just a fun little tidbit.

Wise isn't 100% sure if Hercule defeated Cell, but they also don't know who actually did since the Z-Fighters weren't the public eye all that much. So, they weren't going to try and uncover the conspiracy.

Japiana is just Japan, but I figured using a fake thing would fit Spy x Family a bit more. Since none of the countries in the series are actually real.
