No matter how far you are in the future, some things are still what they were in the past. Tails, or Miles as he goes by now, knows this lesson well. He was now much taller and had nine large bushy tails with tips over his head. These new tails granted him abilities to control reality, with each new tail having an aspect tied to it. The world is also more advanced than ever, making it a better one to live in. However, the world always has some sort of supervillain that must be stopped.

Miles flew in the air, dodging energy bolts from a swarm of buzz bombers. Behind the robots was a human in an egg-o-matic. As soon as he got close, he flicked his first tail, and all of the robots suddenly short-circuited. They all fell down and shattered when they hit the ground. "How many times do we have to do this, Max?" Miles asked, annoyed while flying near the human.

"That's to you, fox!" He yelled back. Miles sighed. Maxwell Jara, the leader of a group called the Children of Robotnic. Self-proclaimed decedents to the late Dr. Miles knew that Robotnic never had any kids. He was way too busy trying to conquer the world to have any. Despite the name, they were never really that much of a threat compared to the late Dr. Max pulled out a gun and started to fire. He quickly rotated his third tail counter-clockwise, and time slowed down. Miles flew underneath the machine to the other side before time resumed its normal speed.

"How often do we have to do this song and dance?" Miles sighed. Then Max wiped over to the other side, and Miles quickly flicked his sixth tail. Max fired again, but the gun just exploded in his hand.

"Gah!" The human yelled as he grabbed his injured hand. "You'll pay for that!"

"Do the right thing here. You still have a bright future ahead of you, and you can do so much good for the world! If you give up now, I'll put in a good word with the judge."

"The world will be better in our hands, you pest! Once you get a taste of this new weapon, no one will be able to stop us!" Then he tried to do the old doctor's laugh, but it was just a poor imitation. Again Miles sighed as Max slammed a button on the machine. Then a large gun popped out of the flying machine and turned to face the kitsune. The weapon started to charge, but the gun's charge dissipated with a quick wack of his first tail. Max was shocked and rapidly started to press the button again, in a fleeting hope of charging it up again. Then Miles flicked his first and eighth tails before doing a roundhouse kick. The kick hit its mark, and the gun was torn off its hinges like they were tissue paper.

"Want to give up now?" Miles asked, annoyed.

"That's not the only new weapon, fox!" He yelled as he started to press new buttons. Why do I even bother? The kitsune thought. Then guns began to pop at a rapid pace from the machine. Then he flew in front of the Egg-o-matic and flicked his first and eighth tails. Then using his new speed rammed the Egg-o-mastic head-on. The flying machine was absolutely destroyed and caused its rider to be chucked out.

Before the human could hit the ground below, he felt something grab the end of his coat. He soon found himself upside down in front of Miles. "You may have won the battle, but we'll win the war!" He yelled, and Miles rolled his eyes in response. Then something fell out from the human's coat pockets. Max tried to grab it, but Miles was faster. The kitsune quickly looked at the object and saw it was a flash drive. Miles put it in one of the pockets on his lab coat before flying off to prison.

When the fox arrived, he unceremoniously dropped Max in front of some of the guards. "Thanks, Miles!" One of them said as another grabbed Max. Miles flew to his workshop to analyze the flash drive. His new workshop was vastly different from his old one. Ever since his old one was destroyed, he separated his home from his workshop. It was a massive facility with bleeding-edge technology built into a mountainside. It held labs for every known field of science. Miles was about to enter but was stopped by a striped bunny.

"Hey, Unck!" The bunny said while leaning in the doorway, blocking the kitsune.

"Jeremy, what are you doing?"

"N-nothing!" He said with a nervous grin. Then Miles heard some commotion coming from inside the workshop. The first floor was the safest floor of the entire workshop and was where he allowed others to be without his supervision.

"What did you guys do?" He sighed while pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Come on, Unck! Have some faith in us!"

"Whatever you guys did, it better be cleaned up when I get back, ok?" The Kitsune said. Then Miles flicked his first tail and flew into the air. It looks like he was going to analyze the flash drive back home. Once the fox got close arrived, he made his way to his computer, and a brown lynx greeted him on the screen. "Happy Birthday, Miles!" She beamed.

"Thanks Nicole," He replied. "So, how's the search?" He said while sitting down at the desk. Nicole was one of 's old a.i.s, but was tossed away before she could be used. Miles took her in, and soon she became a valuable member of his team.

"Still haven't found anything. I don't like it. They are never this quiet. Anyway, how was your fight with Max?"

"You know, average villain stuff. He dropped this." Miles said as he held up the drive before inserting it in. Tails opened it and saw it was heavenly encrypted, and Miles cracked his knuckles before going to work.

"Want me to put on your music?" Tails gave quick thumbs up in response. Then the music started to fill the room, and Miles' body bobbed to the beat. As the encrypted started to fade, he saw what it was hiding. It was the blueprints and notes for a time machine. Miles knew that it was possible for him. However, judging by the evidence gathered, the Children of Robotnic may have found a way for them to do it well. He needed to find them before they did anything stupid. His thoughts were interrupted by a beeping sound.

"What's wrong?" Miles asked, looking up from his work.

"Someone dropped something hazardous in the workshop," Nicole answered.

Tails sighed before standing up. "I thought I told them to clean it up, not make it worse." Tails mumbled.

"You might need me to help analyze the substance," The fox nodded before grabbing a device plugged into the computer. Then he flicked his second tail and was teleported outside of his workshop.

Miles walked into the darkened entrance to the workshop when the lights suddenly turned on. Then a variety of mobians of spices and age popped out and yelled, "Happy birthday Uncle Miles!" Miles just looked out at all of them and smiled. The room was adorned with party decorations, both handmade and store-bought.

"Thank you, guys." Nicole used her nanobots to take on her physical form and joined the party. Then suddenly, a group of young mobians swarmed him.

"Uncle Miles, can you show us your magic!" They all pleaded, with big puppy dog eyes.

"Don't pester him!" A female hedgehog said. They all wined in response and pleaded with the hedgehog. "Don't talk back to me!"

"It's ok, Lena." Then Tails flicked his first and ninth tails, and fox fires soon appeared around the tip of his tails. Then the fire soon danced around the kids, which they all tried to catch.

"You know you shouldn't give in to their demands, uncle. You'll only encourage them," Lena grumbled while crossing her arms.

"When you were younger, you begged me all the time to use my magic," Miles replied with a smirk. Some in the room laughed at the comment as her head became a tomato.

"He's got you there!" A chameleon laughed as he slapped her back, and she mumbled something on her breath in response.

About an hour later, the lights dimmed as a birthday cake was wheeled in front of the kitsune. The candles on top of it read 900, and with a flick of his first tail, they all blew out. Miles was only a few bites into his cake when the device on his belt started to beep. "Nicole?" He replied with a mouth filled with cake.

"It's the Children of Robotnic. They have been spotted over by Westside island." The ai replied.

"Sorry, everyone, I have to go." Some of the kids wined and begged him to stay in response. "I don't like it, but I've got to stop them. I'll be back as soon as possible." The fox put his plate down and walked out of the building as Nicole entered her device again.

It didn't take Miles that long to reach their HQ. A flying fortress similar to Dr. Robotnic's many airships. The ship soon detected him, and the guns started to fire. He weaved through the bolts and occasionally reflected some of the bolts onto the ship, and each reflection caused significant damage to the guns. He landed on the deck and walked to a large door that blocked his path. He pulled his hands like he was pushing something. Then he flicked his first and fifth tails before 'pushing.' Then a huge force shot out from his hands, and the metal doors were flung out from the frame. The doors let out a thunderous bang on the floor.

"The fox is in the base! The fox is in the base!" The ship ai blared. Miles ran through the corridor slamming the badnics into the walls, floor, and ceiling, causing significant damage as he did so. It wasn't that long when he entered the central chamber. When he did, he saw the rest of The Children of Robotnic. The rest of the group were Victor, Henry, Jaden, Hope, and May. They were all humans except Victor, who was a hedgehog. Nearly all of them were behind a window looking down at him. While Hope was on the same floor as him putting a weird-looking key into the console. The fox presumed that this was the arming key.

"There you are, Miles!" Victor explained. "We were waiting for you! We have a surprise for you!"

"Let me guess, a time machine?" Miles asked, annoyed. The group gave shocked looks at one another. "Look, time isn't something that should be messed with. Sure, the timeline is tough, but that doesn't make it a good idea to go into the past."

"That won't stop us, fox!"

"Idiots," Miles mumbled. "Look, just give up. All of you are so brilliant! I've seen the things you could do! All of you could help change the world and make it a better place to live for everyone. But you keep wasting your potential. It breaks my heart seeing people who have such potential waste their future." As Miles talked, Henry was punching in the quadrants.

"We are the future fox, but you don't get that! No one does! All thanks to you! However, we will fix that!" Then Vector slammed a button. The machine buzzed and shook to life, causing everyone to stumble. As the ship passed through time, they were tumbling around like clothes in a dryer. Then suddenly, it stopped, causing everyone to fall to the ground.

As Hope got up, she pressed a button, causing a door open that seemed to vomit egg pawns. He knew that fighting all these robots would destroy the ship, so he had to flee. Miles rotated his third tail counterclockwise, and time slowed down. He grabbed the arming key on the console before running out of the room. Once he was out of the room, time resumed its normal pace.

He ran through the ship, dodging bolts of energy. Miles ran through the destroyed gate and jumped off the ship. Once he jumped off, the ship's engines began to charge before blasting off.

Miles sighed in annoyance as he saw the ship fly away. He needed to know how far he was in the past, so he quickly scanned his surroundings. It looked like the fox was in the middle of a forest but saw the familiar glow of lights in the distance. So, he decided to fly over to the lights and soon found out it was a city. As he flew into the city, he took in the sights, sounds, and smells. Memories of the cities of the past came rushing back to him as he landed to take in more of the sights. As he walked, everyone gave him a wide birth and weird looks.

It wasn't long before he found a street kiosk selling newspapers. He looked at the date and all of the blood drained from his face as he stumbled back. He was over 800 years in the past! "Hey, man, are you ok?" The bear working the stand asked.

"Ya, I'm fine." He said before flicking his first tail and flying off.

"So, what do you think they are doing this far in the past?" Nicole asked.

"No clue, but whatever it is, it's involving Robtnic."

"Hmm… So where are we going now?"

"To my old workshop. We can track the ship from there."

"Ahh… the old workshop," Nicole said nostalgically.

It didn't take him that long to reach his old home. Miles took a deep breath, soaking in the nostalgia, before walking into his workshop. When he entered, he saw all his old friends celebrating his 21st birthday. Everyone just stared at Miles before he spoke up, "Hey, everyone,"

Meanwhile, at an unknown location.

The Children of Robotnic were slowly doing repairs on their ship. "So, when do we reveal ourselves to our ancestor?" Jaden asked.

"When we finish repairing the ship!" Victor said, annoyed. "We want to impress him, so it's best to have a good foot forward."

"Why don't one of us get a chaos emerald while we wait? I've always wanted to see a real one." Henry suggested.

"No! We can't risk that kitsune finding us!" The hedgehog snapped back. "We need to law low. It will all be worth it when Robotnic finely gets his revenge on that damned kitsune!"
