"My champion, my champion!~" Gammamon sang to himself as he was taken back home. Always a good day when Hiro lets him pick out some chocolate.

The two soon returned to the dorm room, Gammamon almost immediately tearing into his box of chocolates. "It amazes me how fast you go through those things," Hiro remarked. "Especially without getting a stomach ache."

"Nope! Just a happy stomach after my champion!" Gammamon innocently responded. While Hiro browsed through his computer, the small, white Digimon finished off his snack. He laid back on the bed and rubbed his tummy. However, something was different this time. A strange noise came out of his mouth, which seemed to startle him. "...*hic!*"

Hiro looked up. "Hm? Is everything alright, Gammamon?"

"Mm... I feel kinda funny... *hic!*" The Digimon sat up at the second noise.

"Don't be scared, Gammamon. It's only hiccups, nothing bad," Hiro reassured him.

Gammamon was confused. "He-cups? *hic!* Is a Digimon giving them to me?"

Hiro chuckled. "I don't think a Digimon is to blame this time." He sat next to Gammamon on the bed. He explained, "You sometimes get hiccups if you eat too fast. They won't hurt you, they'll just be a slight annoyance for a while."

"W-Well... *hic!* They're giving me bad vibes! How do I make them stop?"

Hiro knew there were plenty of remedies for these things, some sillier than others. But he would start off tame for his little brother's sake. He got a bottle of water from the fridge and handed it to Gammamon. "Here, try drinking some water."

"Water? *hic!* Can I have juice instead?"

"I think water works best. You can have juice later, okay?"

"Okay..." Gammamon kicked his feet and sipped on the water. Hiro awaited the results of this cure. A few seconds passed. Silence. Did it really work that easily? "...*hic!*"

Hiro knelt down beside the Digimon. "That didn't work, huh? Maybe you have to do a handstand."

"Huh? Handstand?" Gammamon looked at his clawed hands.

"Here, like this..." Hiro got Gammamon onto his hands and helped hoist his body up. "I've got you." He held Gammamon up for a few seconds before backing away slowly. The Digimon was really holding balance on his own! But was it enough to cure his hiccups? Unfortunately not, as Gammamon hiccupped and fell onto his face. "Ah... That didn't do it either, huh?"

"Oww... Hiroooo! How do I *hic!* lose the hiccups?" Gammamon whined.

"Try holding your breath next," Hiro suggested.

Gammamon tilted his head. Seemed weird to hold your breath for something other than being underwater, but he gave it a try. He took a big breath and held it. He wondered how long he would have to hang on. He was only able to keep up for a couple seconds before taking another breath. "Hiro... I couldn't hold my breath..."

"It's okay. Did that cure them?" Hiro asked.

His little brother hiccupped and shook his head. "Nooo..."

Hiro wondered, "Hm, what else can we try...?"

Gammamon jumped up to Hiro's desk and tapped away on the keyboard. "I wan- *hic!* -na ask Ruli and Kiyo for help!"

"H-Hey, Gammamon!" Hiro took control of the device before Gammamon did something stupid or dangerous on it. But he figured he would humor him and start a video call anyway. After only a short wait, their friends had logged online and joined the call: Ruli and Angoramon in one window and Kiyoshiro and Jellymon in another. "Hi, do you guys mind helping us with something?" Hiro asked.

"Is something wrong over there?" Kiyoshiro asked.

Gammamon flew in front of the webcam. "Hiro says I got hiccups! *hic!* I wanna get rid of them!"

Ruli giggled a little. "Aww, Gammamon... That's adorable~" she said. "Is that all, Hiro?"

"Yeah. Any remedy suggestions?"

The group thought for a bit on potential cures. Meanwhile, Gammamon rode around on Hiro's Roomba and pouted, very much annoyed by these hiccups.

"What usually works for me is going completely calm," Angoramon said. "Listening to Ruli's music or reading a novel is enough to get my mind off them. Before you know it, they're gone."

Hiro glanced at Gammamon. "...I don't think that will work for this one. But I'll keep that in mind for myself."

"Well, I know the most effective way to get rid of hiccups is the opposite!" Jellymon chimed in. "You don't calm down, you scare the hiccups out!"

Gammamon was confused by the idea. "Is that really the best tactic?" Angoramon incredulously asked.

"Of course it is! There's an urban legend that if you hiccup 100 times in a row, you'll suffer a terrible fate!" Jellymon teased.

"R-Really?!" Hiro exclaimed.

Jellymon giggled and floated around a blushing Kiyoshiro. "I told Darling that story once, and that scared him enough back to normal!~"

"H-Hey, don't tell them about that!" the dorm leader stammered. "And a myth like that could still be true!"

"Shishishishi!~"

Ruli shrugged and suggested, "If we do want to scare them out of Gammamon, I have plenty of monster movies!"

"Those might be a bit too frightening for him," Angoramon advised.

"Or I can find a scary Internet video! Gammamon, come see this!" Jellymon called out.

"That's even worse!" Kiyoshiro shrieked.

Hiro thought for a moment. Scary... That was it! He knew what would cure Gammamon's hiccups! He grinned and backed away from the computer, the call still going live. "Hey, Gammamon! Did you finish your chocolates yet?"

"No, the hiccups make it hard to eat! *hic!*" the little Digimon answered.

"Perfect. Can I see them real quick?" Hiro asked. Gammamon was apprehensive at that question. "...I promise I won't eat any. They're still yours."

Gammamon squeaked and handed the box over. Hiro snuck over to the fridge to play a trick in secret. He opened the box and poured hot chili sauce and wasabi all over the remaining chocolate balls. He felt a little bad doing something like this, but he knew it would surely cure those hiccups.

"Okay, Gammamon. I found a special berry syrup in the back of the fridge. Maybe eating some more chocolates will help?" Hiro suggested, winking to the webcam.

"Berry syrup? *hic!* The champion is better now!" Gammamon eagerly snatched the box from Hiro's hands. He plopped himself right back on the bed and went to town pouring them down his gullet. However, his excited, glimmering eyes quickly faded to those of fear. His tongue and throat were suddenly burning like crazy. He let out a loud shriek.

Everyone in the call was caught off-guard. "Gammamon! Are you okay?" Ruli asked.

"S-S-Scaryyyy! I'm scared! The champion is scary!" Gammamon cried out. He wriggled around on Hiro's bed like crazy!

Hiro innocently said, "Oops. Guess that was spicy sauce."

"Hiro! You lied to me!" Gammamon snapped.

"Wouldn't spicy food make the hiccups worse?" Angoramon wondered. "Unless... Gammamon, you said it was scary?"

The little Digimon whimpered. "Really scary!"

"Then maybe it actually did work?" Kiyoshiro added.

"We'll have to wait and see," Hiro said. "Here." He handed his little brother a bottle of...

"Juice!" Gammamon started to drink to cool his mouth off.

Several seconds passed. Possibly even a minute. No other sounds from Hiro's microphone. "Gammamon, how do you feel now?" Jellymon asked.

Gammamon's eyes shimmered when he realized what happened. "...H-Hiro! The hiccups are gone! You cured my hiccups with the scary!" He gave his brother a hug.

"Ah- Heheh, happy to help, Gammamon."

Ruli cooed, "Aww, I'm glad to see you're better, Gammamon!"

"I just wish we had recorded that freakout," Jellymon quipped. "That was quite a show! Shishish- *hic!*"

Everyone looked surprised. Gammamon pointed to the computer screen. "Hiro! Jellymon has the hiccups now too!"

"Guess that's karma..." Kiyoshiro mumbled with a nervous laugh.

Hiro proposed, "Senpai, want me to bring my chili sauce over?"

"N-No! *hic!* I don't wanna burn my mouth too! Darling?"

Kiyoshiro chuckled. "It could be fun~"

"Now this I need to see!" Ruli remarked. The group laughed it off as Jellymon hiccupped and pouted. Here we go again...
