This is where shit gets strange. Bring the rad-x.
Shepard sat down on the couch once again prepared for a long ass, unnecessary summary on backstory. "Hey party people, we got another person that wants to be included on our little adventure." Zach said, once again appearing and swiping across his datapad. A photo of a large lizard like face, sunset orange muscle-like skin with brown bony scales around the top of the head, two brown curled horns protruded from either side of their head. "This is Penny, she's a 10 foot tall 800 pound deathclaw with a personality that doesn't match her appearance whatsoever. She enjoys drinking, parties, and snuggles." Zach said, swiping another picture onto the TV with his datapad. "She's gonna be your new medic, as Dr. Chakwas is medically unfit to come aboard due to the final battle injuring and killing many aboard the SR-2. Unlike most deathclaws, she was lab bred, and is constantly mutating due to the radiation."
"Don't mean to seem rude but, that's a doctor?" said James, gesturing the picture. "Yup, and she isn't even the strangest person you're gonna meet, wait until you see tomorrow's recruiting mission." He said, before disappearing.
The shuttle landed in a vast desert close to a small town, the buildings were mostly dilapidated, though some seemed lived in. This included the bar they walked into, a large figure was immediately visible due to the fact she was around 4 to 5 feet taller than everyone there. She worked the counter, mixing drinks and serving shots, a strange position for a practiced medic to be in. Nonetheless, Shepard, James, Ashley, and Tali sat at the bar and watched as she worked. James noticed the obvious, the fact that she looked as if she could bench press the Mako, the fact that she was wearing a sports bra due to the 95 degree weather showed this fact, giving him plain view of the tight abs that looked like they could deflect a blow from a sledgehammer. She casually strutted over to the four, leaning on the bar, slightly hunched as to not pierce the ceiling with the horns that adorned her head. "What can I get for ya, or are you the people who I was told to wait for?" she asked, looking at all of them individually. "Whiskey, and yes." Shepard said, she smiled and filled the glass around halfway. "So, Shepard and his flock, I presume." She said, walking around the bar to their side, leaning on the edge. "Yeah, didn't know people were referring to us as that." Shepard responded. "Just me, it has a nice ring to it, anyways, I'm ready to go when you finish your drink." She said, smiling a warm smile that looked almost, cute, which was something that the rest of her species had a hard time being.
When they exited the building, Penny had a Winchester 1887 lever action shotgun strapped on her back like a sword. She stood at her full stature, almost double Shepard's size, and easily able to pick him up. She happily walked to the Kodiak, scaring the shit out of Cortez, before sitting on the floor cross legged, due to not being able to stand up properly.
She hopped off the shuttle and introduced herself, immediately getting bombarded with questions. One of the ones that came up most often was, "How did you get a medical license." The answer to which was that she didn't have one.
Penny sat behind the bar in the lounge, chatting with a few people and serving some drinks, then she seemed to get an idea. "Everyone, I have a challenge for you." She said, tapping her claw on a half finished bottle of tequila. "Whoever can keep up with me the best, wins 500 credits." She said, looking around at everyone. "I'm game." James said, standing up and heading for the bar. "Count me in." Joker said, also headed to the bar with a slight limp as usual. "Fuck it." Shepard said, following everyone else's lead. Penny took a large swig of the bottle she held and set it down on the table. Shepard realized this was probably a bad idea when he looked at the fact that it was 92 proof alcohol, and Penny barely flinched at the massive gulp she took.
This was gonna be a long, rough, night.
