"Milly...just what the heck are we doing following Lelouch around?"
"Shh! Quiet, Rivalz! We don't want Lelouch to hear that we're here, don't we?"
There were four students of Ashford Academy's Student Council that were currently following one middle school student by the name of Lelouch Lamperouge who was also a part of the student council, specifically the Vice President. These four middle school students have the names of Milly Ashford, Rivalz Cardemonde, Shirley Fenette, and Nina Einstein.
Milly Ashford was the Student Council President of Ashford Academy's Student Council. She can be described as incredibly attractive based on her face and curvy figure. She has shoulder-length blonde hair, fair skin, and blue eyes. She has a very playful personality, often toying around with people's insecurities, and being fully aware of most around her due to force as the President, leading to some to view her as a bit condescending. Deep down though, she cares about the people around her and remains completely serious when the situation calls for it.
Rivalz Cademonde was the Secretary of Ashford Academy's Student Council. He is a fairly short young man with semi-long dark blue hair with bangs that spread out to the sides and grey eyes. He was the mostly happy-go-lucky type of person who simply likes to spend time with his friends and have fun. But there is far more to him than what is seen on the surface such as the fact that he never really agreed with the Britannian ideology that is based heavily on Social Darwinism but keeps this a secret to himself as he'd rather not like to draw attention to himself. He hated the ideology but didn't think that he can do anything about it and doesn't have the power capable of stopping it. This feeling is more or less the actual opinion shared by many Britannians who cannot speak out due to the fear of the threat of being branded as public traitors and all of the consequences that come with it.
Shirley Fenette was the Treasurer of the Student Council. She has green eyes and very long orange hair, a noticeable trait was that there are two small strands on both sides that are tied together in a ponytail. Generally viewed as cheerful, caring, highly intelligent, outgoing, and extroverted, coupled with her being physically and socially active, attracting a lot of friends, and having the top grades in her class at Ashford Academy. Very similar to Rivalz, Shirley has a less favorable opinion of the Britannian ideology, even hating it.
Nina Einstein was the Historian of the Student Council. She has dark green long hair that reaches the neck, and indigo eyes. She is considered to be quite intelligent, having a comprehension of many branches of science that range from biology, chemistry, and many others, but hides this quite well and remains unrecognized for it, not seeking any attention. Her hobbies would also include reading books all day when she doesn't have anything else better to do. As for the Britannian ideology, she more or less shares similar feelings with Rivalz and Shirley, but keeps them hidden in fear of the consequences.
As of right now, they were silently following their fellow student council member as they were walking from one pathway of the school to another. For the past few months, they, or most especially Milly and Shirley, have noticed something odd about Lelouch since they have known him. The fact that he tends to disappear sometimes and then comes back with strange expressions that depend on the unknown circumstances that they found no amount of context on. Sometimes, there was a genuine smile on his face which almost looks like as if he'd gone on a great adventure. For others, it was quite terrible as he looked like he'd seen some things that would give one nightmares about and these were the times when he almost never spoke a word, only speaking when necessary. Again, it depends on the time of day. And so, Milly decided that enough was enough and that they needed to find out what was Lelouch up to, with Shirley decidedly back it up as she had her own personal concerns.
And their trek made them follow into a forest that was just nearby Ashford Academy where all they ended up finding was...Lelouch going near to a...blue box...
What...?
"Huh..." they all muttered in bewilderment.
They would see Lelouch glancing from one side to another before eventually getting a key from his pocket and opening the door, closing it by the time he entered. The four ended up getting out of the bushes and begins to walk near this strange blue box and inspect it for themselves. The blue box was what appeared to be a Police Box that had been in use by Britannia since the early 1920s. The words "POLICE PUBLIC CALL BOX" was seen from the top.
"...Okay, why is there a police box in the middle of the forest?" Rivalz made a bewildered expression.
"More to the point, what is Lelouch doing inside this box?" Shirley asked, looking just as bewildered as Rivalz.
Milly looked interested, putting one hand on her waist. She smiled as if like a cat catching her prey. "Alright...I'd say I would go knock at the front door and let Lelouch know that we were here. I need to have a few words with him."
She simply thought that Lelouch had some secrets that he didn't want to share with her and the rest. Where they dirty? Where they anything else? Whatever it was, Milly intended to find out. Might make for a good prank, she thought.
"Eh?" all of them looked at Milly with surprised expressions.
Before they could say anything, Milly was already at the door, attempting to knock at the door. And then at the first knock...
"...!"
The door suddenly opened on its own which spooked everyone a bit. And then...They saw it...And they couldn't believe what they were seeing as they were slowly seeing what lies inside. It wasn't the interior of a telephone booth but of something else entirely. They slowly stepped forward and walked inside, with Rivalz being the last to close the door. The interior reminded them of coral, making the place feel more organic and more alive. It was a console room that consisted of a circular area, with a red-tiled ramp leading from the doors to a hexagonal platform. On the platform was a second, circular platform. There was also a set of jump seats situated from one end of the platform which appeared moveable.
They were all looking around the place in their own way and they were carrying feelings of awe, wonder, and hesitance.
"It's...It's bigger on the inside..." Shirley muttered softly.
"Okay...what the heck is this...?" Rivalz asked slowly as his eyes couldn't believe what he was seeing.
"Your guess is as good as mine, Rivalz," Milly muttered softly as her eyes glanced around and landed on the console. She touched the metal console with her hand and felt a mixture of warmth and cold. "Nina, you're our scientific expert, what do you make of all of this?"
"I..." Nina muttered softly, her eyes filled with both wonder and amazement as it looks in every direction. "But this is...this isn't physically impossible. Unless..."
"Unless what?" Milly asked.
"Unless..." Nina glances at the door and then back at Milly. "Unless it adheres to the speculative structure connecting disparate points in spacetime."
"Um...what?" Rivalz made a confused expression.
"Wormholes," Nina clarified. "It basically means that one can travel from one dimension to the next. Just imagine a tunnel with two ends and you'd get the picture. I'd wager that the interior of this box isn't the same as what lies outside if I guess it right. But..." she made an unsure expression, looking at the console. "Technology like this isn't supposed to be possible yet...at least with the kind of technology that we now have today. The calculations alone that allowed for this to work would cost quite a lot I'd imagine."
"...Well, we do have things like Knightmare Frames, but even then, I don't think anyone had ever even thought of building something quite like this..." Shirley made a concerned expression. "But the real question is...what was Lulu doing here?"
No one can provide an adequate answer. They were all at a loss as to what they could say as they were seeing an impossible thing that they all thought came from the few sci-fi fictions that they had consumed from time to time.
And then...they heard a few voices that were nearby which made them alert.
"Uh oh, we've got company, quick hide!" Milly ordered.
And so, they looked around for any place to hide. There was a nearby doorway that allowed them to hide and so off they went, hiding in the corner as the voices were becoming heard quite clearly.
"...Alright then," there was a man with a brown pinstriped suit and coat walking towards the console and pressing a few buttons. They would see Lelouch follow close behind, carrying a serious expression. "I've managed to track the temporal anomaly somewhere during the time of the Civil War. Whatever is there, we need to find it and take care of it before it tries anything to be drastically change-worthy."
"Right," Lelouch nodded.
The man was very familiar to the students. He was known to them as Doctor John Barrowman, the part-time history and science teacher. Considered to be rather handsome and charismatic, he manages to teach the students of Ashford new kinds of lessons that were considered by some among the faculty as rather unorthodox and surprisingly effective. It managed to make the campus even more lively at the very least. But what was he doing here, they asked themselves.
Both Doctor Barrowman and Lelouch appeared to rather be in a hurry. In fact, the atmosphere carried a sense of urgency that made Milly realize that something was wrong. They heard a beeping sound from the console as Doctor Barrowman begins to check the scanners, bringing one of the screens directly to his face.
"Wait...hold on," Doctor Barrowman made a confused expression. "According to these readings, there are over six lifeforms that are present within this room."
"What?!" Lelouch made a shocked expression. "But there's only two of us here."
"That's right...which would mean..." Doctor Barrowman turned around and walked a few meters to the doorway where they were hiding. Lelouch was following close behind. Doctor Barrowman put both of his hands on his waist and made an intrigued expression. "Alright you lot, come on out, I know that you're there. I'm going to have to ask for you to come out and explain yourselves."
Busted, they all thought.
With no choice left as they made a final glance at each other, they all decided to come out one by one.
It made both Doctor Barrowman and Lelouch surprised as they both uttered. "...What?"
"...Um, hi, Lulu," Shirley made a shy smile, embarrassed as if caught red-handed.
Lelouch and Doctor Barrowman both looked at each other.
"Welp, coincidences are dime a dozen but..." Doctor Barrowman made a cheeky smile as if not surprised one bit, putting his hand on Lelouch's shoulder in an act of subtle, silent support and making a wink as if indicating a specific conversation that they'd had a while ago concerning one Shirley Fenette. "I believe that you need to specifically take care of this one Lelouch while I handle the controls."
While Lelouch couldn't say anything and is rendered a bit speechless, Doctor Barrowman begins to dash with energy and shout with excitement. "Everyone! You all might want to hang on to something!" He said this as he races to the controls, pressing the switches and pulling the lever from the side. "Allons-y!" He said the last part with manic, excited glee.
Vrowp Vworp Vworp
The police box from outside would slowly disappear from sight as it begins to enter into a strange vortex.
The Ashford Student Council literally has no idea what they're getting themselves into as they are off on their very first adventure.
