Scout is one of those kids whose parents have had enough of him. So they needed to get just a summer to themselves. Well, "they" really just refers to "she", since Scout's father was practically non-existent most of the time. His mother was left no choice but to leave him at a summer camp. What kind of summer camp? One that's obviously a scam and has a very unique collection of campers.
The problem is, Scout thinks he's hot shit. And when you're at a sunmer camp with people who are making hot shit, murdering hot shit, and spitting hot shit out of flamethrowers, just thinking you're hot shit doesn't exactly get you very far. Especially not when you're at the very bottom of the food chain that apparently exists.
Another issue: this place is suspicious as hell. There's an annoying floating ball that just kind of bosses the campers around, a kid who apparently knows dark magic, and a camp director who hs never shown his face once. And on top of all that, there are absolutely no networked devices anywhere at the camp. There are also these really weird plants that Scout can't help but think are alive. Well, plants are alive, but you get the point.
Who's running this camp? Where did they find the floating, talking ball? And why are they being so secretive? Scout is determined to find the answers to all of these questions and get the hell out of this camp.
