Hey guys! So today I came up with this very sad scenario in my head of Sonic having a stroke. I have a habit of making up stories in my head of poor Sonic suffering from all sorts of disabilities and illnesses, and Tails becoming Sonic's carer. I sometimes type them out in a Word document, but never take them any further than that as I feel they're not good enough to publish on here, as none of them have any plot/ they're all very much the same. Then today I figured you know what? What the heck, I'm going to post them anyway!

So… yes! It's been 8 years since I last posted on . I'm no author, so please be kind, these are just going to be very basic stories.

And I know nothing really about strokes, so I do apologise if any of the symptoms are wrong, But Sonic lives in a fictional world and he's an animal, so symptoms may differ in his world to humans living on Earth :)

Sonic and Tails were at home together at their house on the edge of the Mystic Ruins, the place they grew up together. It had been a day just like any other, the two brothers had gone for a morning run along Emerald Coast, and stopped by their favourite diner for a chilli dog for lunch. There were no signs of Dr. Eggman causing any of his usual scheming antics. Sonic appeared well, and they both returned home just after lunch.

Laughing and joking together, the adoptive brothers were sat next to each other in the living room, enjoying each other's company, sprawled out on the sofa and they had just finished challenging each other to a game of Street Fighter ll.

"I win!" Tails cheered, raising a fist in the air in victory, he grinned, looking over at Sonic, who was looking noticeably pale, and he suddenly looked like he was spacing out.

A few minutes passed before the hedgehog answered. "You only beat me 'cause I'm tired and my eyesight is blurry, I'll challenge you to a rematch later!" Sonic responded, with a noticeable slur in his speech, he rubbed his eyes in an attempt to rub away the blurriness, to no avail.

"Sounds like a plan!" The fox answered. Tails noticed the left side of Sonic's mouth was drooping ever so slightly, he guessed the hedgehog was tired, after all, he hadn't slept well the night before. "I'm gonna go fetch a drink. You want something?" Tails inquired.

Again, no immediate answer, Sonic was completely spaced out now and noticeably pale, and the left side of his mouth still looked… off. "Nah I'm cool. I'll grab a drink later" he slurred.

Tails smiled at him and replied "Ok" He left the sofa and proceeded to make his way into the kitchen. He grabbed a can of Coca Cola from their fridge, a drink that was a firm favourite in their household.

Upon exiting the kitchen and returning to the living room, Tails immediately noticed Sonic was now slumped back in the sofa, from a distance it looked like he may have drifted off to sleep, but the closer he got, the more Tails could see something wasn't right with the blue blur.

To Tails' horror, Sonic was slumped back in the sofa, his eyes looking up in the air, eyelids heavy, and the whole left side of his face was drooping and drool was dripping down the left side of his lip.

The fox's heart rate immediately increased and his hands shook in horror, the can of Coca Cola falling from his tremoring grip and landing on the floor. "Oh no please, this has to be a joke!" Tails cried, fear evident in his voice.

Striken with panic, Tails was instantly at Sonic's side, he was now sat on the sofa facing his brother, eyes widened in fear at what he was witnessing. The two-tailed fox put his right hand on his brother's shoulder, but Sonic didn't respond, he was still slumped over, his face drooping to one side, and he was slurring… He couldn't believe what he was witnessing.

"Sonic, are you ok?" Tails innocently questioned gently. Sonic was mumbling in a slurred tone, but he didn't answer the question.

Tears started to well up in the little fox's eyes, heart beating rapidly. Tails turned the hedgehog by both his shoulders to face him and he began shaking him gently.

"Come on Sonic, stop messing around, bro! You're scaring me" Tails yelled, still holding onto his brother's shoulders shaking him. Sonic's face was still drooping, body limp, and unresponsive to Tails' commands.

Tails knew this was no joke, tears now flooding down the fox's face. Sonic was having a stroke…

"SONIC! It's ok big bro, I'm here, I'm here. Ok? Can you lift one arm for me, please?" Tails cried, he was now rubbing the middle of Sonic's back with one hand in an attempt to comfort him, and he held Sonic's hand in the other. He desperately hoped Sonic would respond, that he would snap out of it and show it was one of his crazy jokes, but the hedgehog didn't respond.

"Ok, I'm going to phone an ambulance!" Tails reassured. He carefully laid Sonic down on the sofa, resting his head on a cushion so he wouldn't fall and slip off the sofa whilst the fox headed downstairs to fetch the phone. He couldn't believe what he was witnessing, it was like something out of a horror movie…

Running as fast as he'd ever ran in his life, Tails ran down the flight of stairs of their home, he tripped on the rug in the hallway, unable to see clearly from the floods of tears gathered in his eyes. Finally! He grabbed the phone and proceeded to dial out 999.

"Hello, I need an ambulance please. My brother is having a stroke! His name is Sonic the Hedgehog and the address is 21 Mystic Ruins, please hurry!" Tails yelled, striken with panic.

He instantly rushed back upstairs, this time opting to fly, as he knew this would be the quickest option. He returned to the room Sonic was in and the hedgehog's face was still drooping, his eyes now seemingly rolling back in his head. He looked so ill…

"Sonic big bro, I'm back! An ambulance is on its way. Ok?" Tails reassured, through a croaked voice. He was now sitting on the sofa next to Sonic who was still laying down. The fox gently scooped Sonic up in his arms and hugged the limp hedgehog tightly, rocking back and forth in a slow rhythm. He couldn't lose him, he just couldn't… Sonic was everything to Tails, and the only family he had.

"Ughmf uuugff" Sonic stirred, a load of gibberish mumbles that made no sense at all, drool was still falling from the hedgehog's left lip, his face was still drooping and his eyelids were still heavy, but his eyes were looking up at Tails. He knew he was there, and he knew he was in safe hands.

Tails' invincible big brother, his hero, was now very likely going to be disabled for the rest of his life. It was likely he would be unable to walk, unable to talk and unable to go about his daily tasks normally again. That he may need years of physiotherapy to recover and around the clock care. He had no idea it was even possible to have a stroke at such a young age.

Tails' little heart was breaking. What an earth did Sonic do to deserve such a terrible thing to happen? He was only 22. He was the most kind, selfless person you could ever meet, who spent his whole life risking his own life to save others. Life was so unfair…

From that moment on, Tails made a promise to Sonic that he was going to be there for him throughout it all, NO MATTER WHAT. From the moment Tails witnessed Sonic's stroke, he knew from that second on that Sonic very likely wasn't going to be the same again, that his life was going to change forever, and that the hedgehog was going to need looking after, potentially, for the rest of his life.

And Tails was going to be his carer. He was going to be by Sonic's side until the very end, and Sonic being potentially disabled now was not going to change a thing when it came to Tails' love for his big brother.

"Sonic… I'm going to look after you, ok? We're going to get through this together. Don't think for a second I'm going anywhere because I'm going to be right by your side throughout it all." Tails reassured, holding his brother's limp hand, whilst kissing him on the cheek. His tears spilled onto the hedgehog's face.

There was no answer from Sonic, but Tails suddenly felt a grip of his brother's hand to his. Sonic knew what Tails said, that he was going to be there for him, that he was loved and that he wasn't going to go through this alone, no matter what the outcome. Able bodied or disabled, to Tails he was still Sonic, and that was all that mattered to him.

Oh my gosh guys! Is it even possible to get emotional writing your own story? as this is exactly what happened whilst I was writing this chapter. Ahhh, I loved writing this!

I have at least another 20 ideas written down of disabled / illness Sonic headcanons, and I seriously cannot wait to get started writing out the rest!

Positive reviews would be hugely appreciated, and will encourage me to write more chapters.

If you have any suggestions of any particular disabilities, illnesses or injuries you'd like to see Sonic and Tails portray, please let me know in a review or private message and you never know, I may consider writing it :)
