imagine your OTP calming a scared child that got frightened by the trick-or-treating children at their door
Thanks Ash for letting me borrow Ashton and Blair (Jelly and Bean).
"You look ridiculous," Hermione said, looking at her husband with a smile on her face. "Why are you dressed like that?"
Fred was dressed as an orange jellybean. The most obnoxious orange colour that clashed horribly with his hair, and it was scaring her a little, but Hermione couldn't stop smiling. She knew exactly why he was dressed up like that.
"What? I'm looking adorable, and you can't deny it," Fred replied, wiggling his eyebrows to her. "Besides, I need to match the kids, don't I?"
Hermione smiled softly at Fred, melting her heart. They had been married for six years, and the twins had just turned five a few months ago, and the fact Fred wanted to wear matching costumes with them was just adorable.
"Besides," Fred said, coming near her and putting his hands on her waist, "there isn't any other costume they would use that wasn't a jelly bean costume."
Giggling, Hermione lightly pecked Fred on his lips. This was an inside joke between them, when they called the babies jellybean before they were born, and now, they were their middle names.
"Mummy! Look, look! I'm a jellybean!" Blair came running to the living room, showing her neon pink jellybean costume. "Daddy made it for me!"
Smiling, Hermione kneeled and hugged her daughter. "You look amazing, sweetie! And Daddy made it in your favourite colour too!"
"And he made Ash in his favourite colour!" Blair said, pointing to her twin, wearing the same costume, but in neon red.
"Daddy is awesome!" Ashton said, coming next to his father. "Thank you, Daddy! You're the bestest!"
"You heard that, Mi? I'm the bestest!" Fred winked at Hermione, while he picked Ashton. "Are you two ready to go trick or treating?"
"Yes!" the twins yelled in unissinon, before Ashton looked at Hermione, "Where's mummy costume?"
Hermione sighed; she never was a person who liked to dress up for Halloween or things like that, but looking at the face of her children, she knew she would do anything for them. She was saved by the doorbell ringing.
"Mummy will put on her costume soon, we just need to answer the door first," Hermione said, picking Blair and walking towards the door. "Wanna help mummy give some candies, Blair?"
"Yes, please!" Blair clapped her hands, and Hermione smiled at her excitement.
Opening the door, she was surprised to find a little witch, a fairy, a boy dressed as Jason and another dressed as Freddy Krueger. The shout of 'Trick or Treat?' made her smile, and Hermione handed the candies to them, waving before closing the door.
It wasn't until she opened the door she realised Blair's lower lip was trembling and her eyes were tearing up.
"Blair, sweetie?" Hermione asked softly, before the little girl started crying in earnest. "Oh, no!"
"What's wrong?" Fred asked, coming near them and seeing Blair crying. "Bean, what happened?"
"I think she got scared by some of the costumes," Hermione said softly, hugging Blair and rubbing her back.
"She's a softie, just like her mother," Fred said, smiling a little, before rubbing her back alongside Hermione. "It's okay, Bean, we've got you."
"Who hurt Blair?" Ashton asked, coming near them and looking at his twin. "No one hurts my twin!"
Hermione smiled at the fierce expression on her son's face, and saw that Fred was thinking the same thing.
"Relax, Jelly, no one hurt Bean, she just got a little scared," Fred said, picking Ashton and coming near Hermione and Blair. "Do you want to hug your sister?"
Ashton hugged Blair, who had stopped crying by now. Hermione felt blessed by her family, loving to feel them around her. Kissing first Blair, and then Ashton's heads, she looked at Fred.
"Okay, everyone. I think some candies will cheer you up," Hermione said, and was glad to see Blair smiling. "Just don't tell your grandparents I said that."
Over the cheering of the children, Fred winked at her. "You know you still have to go put on your costume, right? I made a very nice jellybean packet for you."
Hermione groaned, but she was happy. No matter how crazy her life got, she had her family with her. That's all that matter in the end.
