This takes place before the events of the Season 3 episode "Attack of the Turbo Tibbles."
Have you ever wonder why Jane Banner, the show from the house, in the first place? Well, here is what I think happened.?
thank to Crumps Crumbs for Beta reader chapter 2" is a test chapter i am doing. this the 2nd version
...
It was a sunny day in Elwood City. At the Lakewood Elementary School playground, the third graders were enjoying recess. Arthur, Buster, and their friend Michael were riding on the swings and talking…
"So, ever since "Turtles, Turtles, Turtles" got canceled," Buster was saying, "I found another cool show! It's called "Terrific Turbo-Trooper Toy T-Bot Team!""
"What's that?" Arthur asked and Buster swiftly responded.
"It's this really great Science-Fiction show, about these two combination superhero robots, T-Bot Crimson and T-Bot Emerald, saving the world and fighting these mobster whales and alien beings!"
"Oh," Arthur said, not sounding that interested. "I think I saw commercials for that show and its toys, but I never watched it."
"You should check it out," Buster told him, just as Francine was approaching. "You might like it!"
"Wait a minute," Francine said. "Are you two talking about that Terrific Turbo-Trooper Toy T-Bot Team show? I haven't heard very good things about it. It's really violent, and there's so much fast-paced flashing imagery. My sister Catherine said someone she knew nearly got a seizure while watching an episode!"
Buster let out a soft gasp. But then he realized, "Wait a minute, I watch that show every day, and I've never had any seizures!"
"Well, this kid had photosensitive epilepsy," Francine explained, "a condition in his brain that makes his eyes somewhat more sensitive to bright lights, and if it's rapidly flashing lights, then they can really hurt his brain. Even if it's just a malfunctioning fluorescent light bulb, like the one in the music room!"
Buster imagines the flashing lightbulb in the music room.
"Oh yeah, that light can get pretty distracting, but it's never given me or anyone else I know seizures."
"Well, apparently none of you have epilepsy," Francine said.
"So, that means we're just fine, and can all watch the show!" Buster said with a smile.
"Not me," Francine firmly said as she shook her head. "I don't want to take any chances."
"T-Bot Team?! That show's just vomitrocious!" Muffy complained.
"Doesn't anybody here watch the Terrific Turbo-Trooper Toy T-Bot Team?!" Buster loudly asked.
"I do!" Binky said as he leaped off the jungle gym. "Boy, is it cool! Though a couple of times, my eyes did hurt a little from it."
I saw a few episodes, but nothing happened to me." Michael says. "I think the new episode is at 4:00 PM!"
"See Arthur?" Buster said. "It's definitely safe to watch it!"
Arthur gave an uncertain look.
(Francine): Arthur's Seizure Shock D.W. walks up to the center circle, looking for Arthur and opens the shower curtain. Arthur is behind the shower curtain, taking a bath Arthur gasps, then D.W. says "Uh-oh," and Arthur calls her D.W..)
Fade to back
…
Later that afternoon, Arthur had just finished his tough math homework. He glanced at his clock-radio and saw that it was almost 4:00 PM, the time "Terrific Turbo-Trooper Toy T-Bot Team" was supposed to start. He got up and headed down the stairs and waited outside the den for D.W. to finish watching The Mary Moo-Cow Show.
"If Buster says it's so great, maybe I'll give it a shot." Arthur said to himself out loud. "Maybe it really is a good show."
On the TV, Mary Moo-Cow was wrapping up her show with a cheery "Good-byyyye!"
"Wow!" D.W. commented when she saw Arthur. "Hi Arthur. Is it almost your TV time already? I thought 'Bubonic Bunny' wasn't on for a while."
"It's Bionic Bunny," Arthur corrected. "And I'm going to be watching a different show that starts right after your program." As he spoke, he took his seat on the couch. As the closing credits finished rolling and it showed Mary Moo-Cow riding off on a horse, D.W. gathered up a couple of her toys and left the room.
Michael came in. "Really Arthur? The show Buster talked about?" He complained, setting two cans of lemonade and a bowl of popcorn on the table.
Arthur changed the channel and sat back on the couch to watch Terrific Turbo-Trooper Toy T-Bot Team with Michael. The opening sequence along was very bright, fast-paced and violent, showing the Crimson and Emerald Bots fighting the two gangster whales. Arthur's eyes felt just a little exhausted by the time the opening ended with the series title.
Michael looked over. "What's the matter Arthur? It was just the opening, nothing bad happened. I knew Francine was worried over nothing!"
Arthur nodded. " I guess you are right Michael!"
As they watched the episode, Arthur and Michael were getting a little engrossed in the story. It wasn't anything special, but he admittedly wanted to find out how the plot would be resolved. However, after some more really bright flashing imagery from an action-packed fight sequence between the T-Bots and the Whales, Arthur began to feel dizzy and his head started to hurt. What happened next was not pretty; Arthur's eye pupils widened behind his glasses and he collapsed on the den rug, going into convulsions and making gibberish noises!
Michael gasped. "Arthur! What's going on?! Please stop playing aro-" He realized something was very wrong. "Uh oh. Mom and Dad will freak out! Maybe letting Arthur watch with me wasn't a good idea after all!" Thankfully, there no small coffee table in this room, so he placed Arthur`s glasses on the table and grabbed a pillow for Arthur`s head.
Arthur's mother, Jane Read, was coming out of the kitchen to get something from the den, when she heard Arthur's noises and called for him. "Arthur, what are you doing?"
Michael said in a panic "M- Mom, please don't freak out, alright! It's nothing to worry about, I promise!"
She entered the den, saw Arthur on the floor convulsing, and gasped in shock. "Honey!" she called out in fear. "Come quick! Arthur's having a seizure!"
As Arthur's father, David Read, ran from the kitchen to help, Mrs. Read noticed the show on the TV. She quickly deduced it was the cause of Arthur's seizure, and turned it off. As she did, Arthur vomited right onto the den rug.
Mr. Read gasped in horror "We have to get Arthur to the hospital! You get D.W, Kate, and the car keys."
Michael said "Dad calm down, just call 911 quicky!"
David said "Michael how did you become so smart?"
Michael said "Dad you enrolled me in the First aid class by mistake instead of Basketball, okay go please!"
Jane ran upstairs and called out, "D.W.! Come on, we have to take Arthur to the hospital! He's having a seizure!"
Upon hearing that, D.W. let out a horrified gasp. Usually, she thought it was amusing when something bad would happen one of her older brothers, but nothing this bad. She was genuinely scared for Arthur. She clutched her mother's legs in fear, who had just entered the room to take baby Kate out of her crib and fetch her baby bag.
TRANSITION TO:
INT. ARTHUR'S ROOM -
Jane sat Kate down and quick packed an overnight suitcase with a shirt, blue shorts, socks and shoes.
The wail of a siren cut through the air as an ambulance approached the house. Soon, paramedics were being led to the scene by David. The paramedics loaded Arthur onto a stretcher.
Jane, D.W. and Kate hurried down the stairs, grabbed the car key off the kitchen table, and ran out the back door, rushing through the back yard and to the driveway, just in time for Michael to take Kate from his mother's hands.
The paramedics flung the doors open. They reached out for the stretcher as it was being lifted up into the back. Arthur was still twitching, but not as badly as he was earlier, and he wasn't making any more noises. When David got in the ambulance, it sped off down the street with its sirens blaring.
"We'll call Grandma Thora once we reach the hospital," Jane said as she strapped D.W. into her car seat and buckled up Kate. "she can get started on cleaning up the vomit in the den and check to see how Pal's doing."
Jane started the car, and they backed out of the driveway and headed off to the Elwood City Child Hospital.
In the ambulance, Arthur had gone unconscious.
One of the paramedics said "Don't be alarmed David, your son is still breathing." Halfway through the drive, Arthur regained consciousness and was no longer suffering. He moaned a bit and asked, "Where am I? What's going on? Where's mom?"
David said "Arthur! Your mom is following us in the car, you'll see her soon."
"What?" Arthur asked, noticeably out of it. "What's happening? Where are we going? And why can't I move my arms?"
A second paramedic turned to Arthur and said, "You had a seizure. We're going to the hospital."
Arthur let out his distinctive wheezy gasp. "HuUUUUUuuuuuuh!"
"Don't worry Arthur," David reassured him. "you're going to be OK. You probably still feel pretty bad after having that seizure, but you're in good hands now. This whole mess will be behind us before you know it."
"I had a seizure? I don't remember that." Arthur said. "I know Michael and I were watching TV, and there were these really fast flashing things, and my head started to hurt… but all I remember after that is waking up here."
The first paramedic said "Well that's a good sign. Arthur remembers what he watching before the seizure took place. That's how it usually goes with them."
Arthur let out a groan and glumly said, "Francine was right! The Terrific Turbo-Trooper Toy T-Bot Team show really is dangerous!" He paused for a moment. "Wait, Michael saw it, is he still fine? And why are we still heading to the hospital?"
He was still a little out of it, but said "I think I'm fine now. Can we just meet mom then head home? I want to lay down and sleep for a while."
"You're still a little out of it after your seizure," David explained. "But if all goes well, you should be all right very soon."
Arthur moaned a bit at the prospect of that.
"Is this his first seizure?" The second paramedic asked.
"Yes." David responded.
"Wow. He makes the fifth kid we've pick up since that T-Bot episode aired today."
Arthur groaned "Could you slow down? I feel a little carsick."
"Don't worry, we're almost there son." The second paramedic grabbed a bucket and handed it to David. "Here your dad can hold on to this Gray Bucket."
"Thanks." He weakly responded.
They arrived at the Elwood City Hospital. The paramedics had brought Arthur to the emergency entrance. Nurse Brittany brought Arthur into a private room on a wheeled bed and closed the privacy curtain Arthur. After some time passed, Arthur was wearing a hospital gown.
"Now you just stay here, we'll be back with an I.V and the doctor."
Meanwhile…
Michael said "Hey, that's the ambulance Arthur was picked up in. They must have brought Arthur to the Emergency room."
"Michael, can you carry Kate please?" his mom asked.
"Sure mom, but can I ask why you were driving over the speed limit " Miche Asked"?
D.W. said "Mom, what's with that suitcase?"
Jane said "You just never know with hospitals. They might have to keep Arthur overnight, and if they do I want him to have everything he needs." They walked inside.
Michael said "Whoa, is it just me or is it really crowded in here?" It's packed in the emergency room, mostly kids and teenagers.
Jane said "Yes, was Arthur Timothy Read brought here?"
Nurse Stacy said "Yes, he's right across the hallway."
Jane said "Thank you, can we see him?"
Nurse Stacy said "You may, but be careful in his room, he's hooked up to an I.V right now."
Jane, Michael, Kate, and D.W. all hurried to Arthur's room.
FADE TO:
INT. ARTHUR IN A HOSPITAL BED - DAY
Arthur is laying in the bed, an I.V poking into his arm. Jane and David are in chairs around him.
Jane said "So, how was Arthur during the ride over here?"
"He was fine. Arthur did vomit twice though, once during the ride and again before they put the I.V in, but they give me a basin just in case. They seem to have him on clear liquid for now."
He handed Jane the bucket. "Here Jane, I need to call my mom."
"Sure David."
Out in the hallway, David called Thora, asking her to check on Pal and to clean the den. Thora agreed.
"David, I will say a pray for Arthur, alright?"
"Thanks mom." Suddenly, he heard Arthur gasping and choking. "Oh no! Something's wrong with Arthur! I'll call you back mom!"
He rushed back into the room. "Arthur?! What is it?!"
Arthur sounded exhausted and in serious pain. "I… I feel like I'm gonna vomit dad!"
Jane came to her son with the Basin. "It's okay Arthur! Use this!"
David said "Michael, can you Take D.W. and Kate out into the hallway please?"
"S- Sure dad." He said fearfully, his breathing getting faster.
Once in the hallway, he saw Nurse Stacy and started frantically calling for her.
"Excuse me! "Nurse Stacy!"
Nurse Stacy said "Michael, I don't want you to worry, okay? I'll take good care of your brother." She said very calmly and reassuringly, relaxing Michael and D.W.
Sometime later
Nurse Stacy said "Jane and David, you can relax. He's fine now. The anti-nausea medicine has been helping him a lot."
They were relieved to her that, but couldn't help but feeling anxious and horrified about… something.
Some more time later, when Arthur was calmed down…
Nurse Stacy said "We're going to put you in this machine to take pictures of the inside of your body. You've probably heard of it too, it's called a C-T scan. You'll feel a tiny pinch, but we need to put some dye in your body to see the blood better. When we're done, we'll take back your family, alright?"
He was still woozy and dizzy, but Arthur managed to nod.
After the test, back in the Emergency Room
Nurse Stacy said "The doctor will be in soon. Arthur should wake up anytime now."
Arthur opened his eyes, and saw that the nurse and machines have been replaced with Jane, David, and D.W. along with Michael and Kate.
Jane said "Hi baby. How do you feel, Arthur?"
"A little funny, but mostly sleepy." He groggily said.
David said "That's from the dye, it only just started to wear off."
Arthur said Is… is the doctor here yet? Can we… go home now?"
"Not yet dear, but hopefully soon."
Arthur said "We've… we've been here for t- two hours already…"
...
A bit later
Arthur and his family were speaking with Jill, a female neurologist, as she took out a thermometer from her coat. She put it in Arthur's mouth, and did other similar procedures, murmuring to herself on occasion.
She took out her doctor's flashlight and examined Arthur's ears.
"Okay."
She put on her stethoscope and puts it on Arthur's back.
"Hmmm..."
Jill put her stethoscope back around her neck and removed the thermometer from Arthur's mouth. She examined it.
"Temperature… Oh."
She did one last check, testing his reflexes. Seeing that Arthur's right leg instantly reacted to the reflex hammer, the neurologist nodded and spoke to all of them.
"Well, it looks like Arthur is going to be just fine. There doesn't appear to be any lasting damage from his seizure. Thank goodness you called us as quickly as you did, a single second can make all the difference."
Arthur remembered what Francine had said and pointed out, "But I thought I didn't have epilepsy. Why did I have a seizure?"
"Sometimes people and kids that don't have epileptic conditions can still be suspect to seizures," the doctor explained. "I've had to see two more kids that had seizures from watching that Terrific Turbo-Trooper Toy T-Bot Team show, as it does contain a lot of fast-paced flashing effects that can damage the eyes and brain."
"Wow," D.W. said in shock and awe. "I hope Mary Moo-Cow doesn't have any of that. I'd hate to give up watching that show!"
With a chuckle, the neurologist said, "No, D.W. Mary Moo-Cow does not feature anything like that, and is a much safer show to watch than T-Bot Team."
D.W. glanced at Arthur and teasingly said, "Maybe Arthur should start watching Mary Moo-Cow. It'd be a lot safer!"
Mr. and Mrs. Read shouted "D.W.!" in unison, while Jill just chuckled a bit.
"I would suggest not sitting too close to any TVs," the doctor advised "and make sure there's plenty of light in the room."
"I was sitting on the couch," Arthur said, "and it was still light out, but no lights were on in the den."
"Well," the doctor suggested, "you could move the couch back a bit, and have a few extra lights on in the room when watching television."
Michael said "Um, the couch has always been back. Plus, I was sitting beside him watching the show."
Arthur smiled a bit. After the horrors of his experience, it felt good to get some helpful advice to prevent another seizure.
"I'm getting tired, can we stop talking now please?"
Dr. Jill said "Sure Arthur. For now, just take it easy. I'll talk to your parents for a bit, alright?"
Arthur nodded "Sure, but I have to go bathroom..."
Jill said "There's one across the hallway that. Wilson will take you too."
"Uuuh, sure."
In Dr. Jill's office
"Since this was his first seizure, I want to keep him here overnight to make sure he's stable. You can take Arthur home in the morning, but you both have to keep a sharp eye on him for a month, maybe more. As for other problems, there shouldn't be any. If he does wake up with a bad headache in the morning, try children's Motrin Ibuprofen, and have him lay back down in a dark room. He may just want to sleep the whole day if that happens, but that's a normal response."
Jane said "Overnight. I had a feeling you would say that, so I packed an overnight suitcase, but starting tomorrow morning we're going to keep Arthur home for a few days, and I'll even take a week off from work."
Dr Jill said "That's wonderful to hear. I would like to see Arthur back in six month just to see how he doing, and have this as well, a prescription for Phenobarbital. One tablet before bedtime will almost certainly prevent another seizure from happening."
Jane said "Just one pill every night?"
"Yep! Simple as that!"
"When can I pick up the prescription? And what about Children's Motrin Ibuprofen?" David asked.
"Both medications should be ready by no later than 8:00 PM at Jim's Drug Store. Oh, and one more thing. Now that Arthur has stopped vomiting I will try the BRAT diet in the morning and see how he does. If he handles it well then he can continue using it at home for the next few days."
"What's the BRAT diet?" David asked.
"It's a diet of bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. See? It spells out BRAT. These foods are very easy to digest, but he can also have crackers, or grilled or boiled chicken, just try to avoid greasy, heavy or spicy foods for a few days. Also, avoiding dairy could also be beneficial due to a transient lactose intolerance.
Not to mention certain drinks like apple juice or carbonated beverages can make vomiting worse, so it's best to stick to a rehydration solution or plain cold water for right now. Finally here is a hospital excuse note for school. I'm sure Arthur will appreciate this." Jill said with a chuckle.
Jane and David both read the note.
"This letter is to notify that Arthur Read, 3rd grade of Lakewood School, was brought to the hospital on November 27, 1998."
"I, Dr. Jill , attended him when he came to Elwood city child hospital after his first seizure. Accept his absence from school on this date. Disregarding any further incidents, he should be safe to head back to class on November 29, 1998."
"Regards, Dr Jill."
Jane asked "Can we see Arthur before we head home please?"
"Of course." Jill happily responded. "In fact, it's almost time to head up to the child observation on the 5th floor. They have some paperwork for you two to fill out there."
Back in the ER
Arthur said "Boy, they sure are taking a long time just to remove the I.V. This thing is seriously annoying."
Michael said "Here come mom and dad with Dr. Jill."
Jane said "Arthur, they're going to keep you overnight, alright dear?"
"Overnight? But I'm okay, can't I just go home with you?"Arthur said"
David said "You'll be able to come home tomorrow morning. Until then we'll be with you as long as we can."
Arthur said "Well… I'm just kind of scared. I've never stay in a hospital by myself before."
Jane said "I know Arthur, but it's just a precaution. I promise, you're going to be just fine."
Arthur didn't respond. He had a very grim look on his face.
An hour later on the 5th floor of the Child observation. Room 208, Arthur's new room.
"Look Arthur." David excitedly said. "What a sunny room this is, and here is Tess, your nurse."
They were in a sunny room with a dresser, desk, and bed that was bolted down, with the floors and walls being padded just in case someone fall during the night. The bed was comfortable, with a matching blanket and pillow, and the sun warmed the room through a single window.
Everyone started to help get Arthur settled down. As he watched his mother and Tess put his stuff away, Arthur began feeling nervous, knowing that this was really going to happen and nothing he said would change this. After everything was put up nice and neat, Arthur was left alone with Tess while his parents and went to fill out the paperwork.
Tess turned toward the still nervous boy and gave him a smile as warm as the sun.
"Are you tired Arthur? Why don't I put on a little tv? How does that sound?"
Arthur nodded absentmindedly, as if he wasn't paying attention, so Tess turned the TV on.
After the paperwork was filled out
"If anything happens please call us." Jane told the woman at the counter, Nurse Meissle.
"I will, but Arthur is in the best of hands Mrs. Read. All the bed rails are up and he has a yellow fall risk bracelet on, so he won't be leaving that bad on his own. If he needs to use the bathroom he can call a nurse who will escort him at all times until he's back in bed."
David said "D.W., Michael, time to go. We have to talk about a few things in the car."
Once D.W. and Michael were buckled up, and Kate was strapped into her baby seat, David began driving home from the hospital.
Mrs. Read turned towards Michael with a serious face.
"I've thought it over, and from now on you are forbidden from watching that T-Bot Team show. D.W., you're also not allowed to watch it."
Michel said "But Mom!"
"No!" She interrupted. "Michael that show causes too much trouble. It's too violent anyway as I've heard, you should have known better in the first place."
"Mommy," D.W. asked, "Are you and dad gonna punish Arthur?"
Jane chuckled and replied, "No, D.W. What he did wasn't bad behavior or anything. People can't help it if they get seizures, but we do have to be careful and make sure Arthur doesn't have another one, alright?"
As they pull into the driveway of the house, Jane unbuckled D.W. from the car seat while Michael got Kate.
David went inside to meet Grandma Thora, who was holding Pal.
Grandma Thora said "How is Arthur?"
Jane said "They're keeping Arthur overnight just to be safe, and thanks for watching Pal."
Thora said "Anytime sweetie."
"Thanks mom. We're gonna go pick up Arthur after we take D.W. to preschool tomorrow, then I have to get this prescriptions. They should be ready by 8:00 PM tonight."
Michael said "But mom, the show isn't that violent, really. Part two is on tomorrow, can't I just watch it myself? Arthur's shows are too boring but T-Bot Team show-"
"Michael Alexander Read!" Jane nearly shouted, cutting off Michael. "For the last time, you are not allowed to watch that show ever again! It is banned from this house!"
Michael walked away and muttered to himself. "Fine mom. Thanks Arthur, get the best TV show banned from the house."
Late in the kitchen, after Michael & D.W. were sent to bed
Jane said while washing the dishes "What if we had been at work, Arthur could have…? Oh, I can't bear to think about it. By the time we made it to the Hospital, he came around, but he was pretty out of it later anyway."
Grandma Thora said "Yes, but you both were home. All that matters is that you were home Jane and David, and if you two are feeling guilty about not being home enough, well I'm here to remind you both that you have jobs, thank you very much."
David said "Yes, but what about our own kid's lives? One of us will have to stop work to be home for their sake. Also, regarding Arthur and Michael's babysitting jobs, what were we thinking? They're both eight years old for Pete's sake. We should have known better to let them babysit at such a young age."
Grandma Thora said "Well Lucy called to remind you all of the family photo shoot at her house this weekend."
Jane said "Oh my! I completely forgot! I'll call Aunt Lucy tomorrow!"
Transitions back to the hospital, specifically Arthur's Room
Arthur could hear all sorts of sounds as he lay in his bed. He wished he was home but tried to make the best of it by hiding under his pillow.
Soon he fell asleep...
Arthur opened his eyes. He stood in a space landscape with craters, the two Turbo Troopers from the T-Bot show watching him.
The green one pointed at him.
"An intruder! It's a spy of the whales!" The other one nodded. "GET HIM!"
Arthur gasped. " NO, I'm no spy!" He ran away when the troopers fired their missiles and lasers at him. The flashing lights and the loud noises gave him a headache and he fell to the floor.
Both troopers approached him. " LETS GET THE SPY!" A laser came toward Arthur, and he began crying... ... she harshly in fact, he nearly felt of his hospital bed.
"Are you okay?" A girl's voice asked in the dark. Arthur looked around. A Racoon-girl with long braids stood beside his bed. Sage carried a huge flashlight in both hands.
He blinks and gasps. "Yes, yes. Thanks, it was just a nightmare!" The girl sat down on the side of his bed.
She reached for Arthur's hand. "I´m Violet Haskins. I'm here cause of some anxiety order stuff!"
He shook her hand. "Arthur Read! I had a seizure while watching a TV show!"
Violet giggles. "Woah! I'm afraid of small rooms or when the lights are completely out! One time I was stuck in an elevator for three hours!"
Arthur widen his eyes. " Ooof, sounds horrible! See, I watched the Terrifying Turbo Troopers, and the flashing lights gave me a seizure! Now I'm a bit afraid to watch TV again!"
Violet pats his shoulder. "Well this morning, I almost got an anxiety attack when the school bus got stuck and wouldn't open! So I'm here cause I was nearly unconscious."
She puts a finger on her chin. "You know what, we can help each other! You watch TV when you come home, just not that Terry-whatever stuff, but other stuff that's cool! And I will… use the elevator tomorrow! Deal?"
Arthur smiles. "O-okay, deal! Uh, I've never seen you before. Are you from Lakewood Elementary School?"
Violet shook her head. " No, I´m in fourth grade at Mighty Mount School! But, you know what, let's exchange addresses so we can hang out when we´re back home and help each other with our problems!" Arthur nodded with a smile.
Violet and Arthur shared a fist bump, before she ran off, waving. " Cya Arthur! Stay clear!"
The next morning
Jane said "I already called Mr. Herb Haney this morning and let him know the situation with Arthur, and he'll let the school staff know about it."
David said "Great, thank you, Jane."
Meanwhile upstairs, as Michael turned the clock off he let out a loud yawn.
"Well, at least Arthur will be home today." He was ready for school in no time as he took Arthur's homework with him and headed for breakfast.
David said "Michael do you have Arthur's Homework?"
Michel said "Right in my backpack, don't worry about it."
Jane said "Michael, your Grandma just reminded me last night that Aunt Lucy called, so if Arthur can get healthy before Saturday then we can head to Aunt Lucy this weekend for the family photo shoot. If me and Dad aren't around make sure he isn't exposed to any bright flashing lights.
Michael said "Yes mom I understand."
A few hours later back at the hospital
Arthur began waking up.
"Uuuuugh… my head..." He put his glasses on. "I hope the nurse has something for my headache. As he press the button to call the nurse, a white light consumed Arthur's vision.
Nurse Jones walked in.
"Why good Moring Arthur. How are you feeling today?"
I… I just my head hurt. Do you have any medicine for that?"
"Yes I do Arthur. I will be right back with Children's Motrin Ibuprofen that should help with your Headache."
Meanwhile at Lakewood Elementary School...
Buster and Ashley came over to Michael when he entered the schoolyard, the rabbit-boy laughed.
"Hey, Michael, did you watch the Terrific Turbo-Trooper Toy T-Bot Team episode yesterday? It was amazing! Hey, wait a minute, where's Arthur?"
Michael sighs. "Well, he tried but... he get a seizure from watching it! We were in the hospital yesterday! They kept him overnight, but he's fine and will come home today."
Ashley gasps. "Oh my, I knew that show was trash!"
Buster glares at her. "IT IS NOT! It´s the best show ever!"
Ashley puts her hands on her hips. "No way, it is stupid trash that damages your brain!" She walked over to Michael. "Is Arthur okay now?"
Michael said " Yeah, but, the show itself isn't bad, it's just the flashing lights in the show that cause problems! He won't watch it again, my parents even forbid it! Sorry Buster, but now thanks to Arthur even I can't watch it, which really stinks since today was going to part 2 of the Episode."
Buster shook his head. "Michael, you're gonna miss the best TV show ever! Are you sure there isn't somewhere you can watch it?"
Ashley looks over to her cousin. "Stop it, Buster! Michael, Arthur is more important than some dumb show, okay?"
Buster grumbled, but eventually nodded. "Okay, okay, Ashley is right, Arthur is more important! I got so carried away by the new show, I totally forgot about that!"
Michael sighed. "Besides, mom and dad are concerned about a family photo with Aunt Lucy this weekend, and we want Arthur to be healthy to join us! Hopeful nothing goes wrong."
Ashley looked concerned. "I hope he will be fine then! See you guys later, and Michael, give Arthur my best wishes, okay? Bye!" The girl ran over to some students of her class, one of them was her boyfriend Jesse.
Michael smiled and turned to Buster. "She's right! I can't risk anything! Seeing Arthur getting the first seizure was horrible!"
Buster said "Don't worry about it, Arthur will be fine by time school is over."
"Well, yeah…" but Michael had a bad feeling in his stomach when he said that.
Meanwhile at the hospital...
David said "Should Arthur be awake by now?"
Jane said "I know, it was too quiet in the house last night."
After parking in the hospital parking lot, they go up to the 5th floor and wait.
Dr. Jill said "Mr. and Mrs. Read, Arthur is awake right now. He kept the Tosa and Water down, and we also gave him some Ibuprofen. He will be a bit tired when he gets home, but that's normal with patients that are out of the hospital, so don't worry if he wants to just sleep for the rest of the day. Just have a cup of water ready for him."
David said "Alright, thank you Dr. Jill."
TRANSITION TO:
INT. ARTHUR'S ROOM - DAY
Arthur has just gotten home from the hospital. He is in his pajamas and is climbing into bed for a little nap.
David took his glasses off. "Your mother is downstairs if you need her."
Arthur said "Okay dad. When can I take the hospital bands off?"
Davied said "Uh, maybe tomorrow Arthur." He flipped off the lights in the room.
Arthur said "Thanks dad. Night."
As David headed to the Kitchen, he spoke to Jane.
Davied said "Arthur is asleep now. I used one of Kate's sippy cups for the water."
Jane giggled. "I'm surprised he was fine with that."
David said "Alright dear, now it's your turn to rest too."
Jane said "I can't David, someone have to be awake in case Arthur needs help." or Kate stared Crying.
David said "Okay, so non-breakable cups. I won't be long."
After school was over, Michael was walking home with Francine.
Francine said "Michael, what up with you? You've been quiet all day?"
Michael sighed in sadness. "Francine… you were right about the show, it did cause a seizure, Arthur had his first seizure watching the show yesterday."
Francine began looking shocked and sad. "Oh… I had a feeling it would happen but, I never thought it really would. Um, is Arthur alright?"
"Yeah, Arthur's okay, and he should be home by now."
"Alright… I try calling Arthur tonight."
"Okay Francine, see ya."
Michael comes home and listened.
Michael said "It's too quiet... Hello?! Anyone home!"
His mom popped in front of him.
Jane said "Michael! I'm so glad you're home. Arthur has a bad headache right now, so your dad made your room dark. I'm going to need your help in Walking Pal and setting the table, alright?"
Michael nervously said "Y- yeah. You can count on me mom… really."
Jane said "Thanks Michael."
At 4:00 PM after D.W.'s show was over, she heard the other TV from the second living room turn on. She went in and stood in front of the TV.
D.W. Said "Michael, did you even hear mom last night."
Michael said "D.W. what the heck?! You're are blocking my way! Besides Arthur is still asleep, now go away!"
D.W. said "MOOOOOOOM! Michael is watch that show you banned!"
Jane came storming in and saw Michael watching the T-Bot show. "Michael you know better! Can you take this tray up to Arthur please?"
Michael said "Oh alright Mom."
As he went upstairs, he thought to himself. [Great, I thought Arthur would be downstairs by now.]
Arthur was still sleeping tight in his bed, as snug and quiet as his baby sister Kate.
Suddenly, Arthur opened his eyes. He stood again in a space landscape with craters, and the two Turbo Troopers watching him. The green one pointed at him angrily. "The intruder! The spy again!" The other one nodded. "This time we got him!"
Arthur gasps. "NO, not again!" He ran away when the Troopers fire, this time blasting all their missiles and lasers at him. The flashing lights and the loud noises gave him a headache again, distracting him so much he fell into a crater. Both troopers approached him. "This was it, you're done!" Two laser blasts came toward Arthur, but all he could do was scream...
Michael calls and walks in his and Arthur 's room, waking him up. "Oh, why aren't you sitting up yet? Mom had dinner for you on this tray".
Arthur sat up in bed.
Arthur said "Dinner? It's only 4:30 PM."
Michel said "Uh, yeah I guess. That's what she said anyway."
Michael took a seat next to Arthur on the bed.
Arthur sighed in relief. "I had the weirdest dream, and the even weirder part is that it happened twice."
Michel said "You did? What was it about?"
Arthur said "Those two Turbo Troopers were watching me, and they were chase me, firing some missiles and lasers at me. The flashing lights and the loud noises scared me… and to be honest, I don't think I wanna go back to sleep. I don't wanna have that nightmare again."
Michael put his hand on his brother's shoulder and smiled. "If you do have that nightmare again, I'll be here for you."
Arthur smiled back. "Thanks Michael."
