A flame in Seventh Flame.

"I want to know more about you," he says! How can he be this calm when – Uaggh!

"Uaggh ahh!" Makabe Subaru held the base of his palms against the edge of the table to prevent himself from tripping backwards, Tenryu Light's advance also braking to a halt.

"Subaru. Are you all right?"

"Oh, now you're listening to me? Where was your concern earlier, Light?"

"I'm sorry. When I saw your face before, I thought it looked like you were – If you're not fine with this, I'll stop right away."

Subaru threw his hand out, grabbing Light's arm to drag him forward. "No…I'm still…"

"You want to keep going?"

Subaru nodded, looking straight down. He couldn't bring himself to look at Light. Not at those honest, honest-to-God beautiful golden eyes. Not at Light's normal face: blunt, resolute, and oftentimes clueless.

"Are you sure you're okay?"

He nodded again, his own eyes and teeth pinched tight from the discomfort of having Light this close.

"Yeah…Go slower though."

Light gave him his silent word he would, letting Subaru regain his previous stance before restarting. He came up to Subaru's neck, touched his hair from the bottom and kissed him, further than where he'd stopped.

He's younger than me and yet –! Subaru's thoughts trailed off into empty language. He was in Light's care, and Light's promise was burning the negativity out of his system.

Blushing was nonetheless painful. Light's desire to know more about him was more invasive than his decided yet considerate tongue.

"Excuse me, I'm coming in!" the Club President announced, pulling the door open. "Ah, Subaru-kun, Light-kun! Training for the Shadowverse tournament?"

"Yeah," Light answered despite Subaru hanging on to his lips by his front teeth. "Getting stronger through a better connection."

The plant-loving boy with pink hair set the watering can he was carrying next to the shelf. "Don't mind me then. I'll be right out."

"Not me! One person knowing our secret is too many already!" Subaru sighed his sarcasm.

Itsuki chuckled awkwardly.

"Subaru. Can I count on you? You're my first friend here." Light cupped his hands over Subaru's. "We're all Shadowverse players! That's why we can all take this seriously! That's why we can say what we really feel!"

"What I really feel?" Subaru asked.

"Yeah!"

"Sheesh. Thanks, Itsuki! See what you've done? He's giving that speech!"

"I apologize for walking in. But I'm not sorry I did." Itsuki stood by his position. "Light-kun and Subaru-kun are right together, right?"

"Subaru," Light pressed.

The hand on Subaru's neck again, touching his hair from the bottom.

"It isn't my style, but…"

No more speeches.

No more interruptions.

Just flame.
