Somewhere on the outside plains of ****** Town... []
The sun rose on the horizon as Tom went and grabbed his supplies that laid on the tree next to where he and his beloved Pokémon stayed and slept on for the time being. The grass felt a bit frumpy and soft, as the night's cold from yesterday spread over them as they slept, but the thought of being surrounded by his cherished Pokémon made him ignore the feeling of being too petty over uncomfortableness when it comes to having a good night's rest. He made sure to be as discreet as possible as to not wake them up, so he can have the time to check up on the things he carried on his sling bag that is as big as his very own Raichu, Jess. He checked it and observed to see how many essentials he has before he has to go to the Pokémon Center again to refill his missing items. So far, he has covered for the medicines he and his Pokémon needed to heal and make sure they quickly recover from any damage they take from their travels, their food, drinks and the like, their massive yet limited expenses being measured so for him to not to worry about them not accessing certain items they need to acquire for the day, and of course their unnecessary but necessary goal of being involved in Pokémon Battles or Contests, to keep some of his expenses intact in case of emergencies, especially if he needs to pay his bills and do his weekly duties.
Being alone as an 11-year-old and having to accept the responsibility of an adult that early would be stressful in the long run, but he thought that as long as his own Pokémon are there to assist and support him, which he knew they ABSOLUTELY WILL, he'll do just fine as much. One person alone cannot sustain a home properly without help, after all.
So, when the opportunity came by, he took on different sorts of jobs. Some decent, some boring, and some being too horrid for him to handle but he tried all the same, for he was desperate to find a way to earn more of their financial needs. His Pokémon were always beside him, assisting him through his troubles, with varying degrees of success and entertainment they received from their fun, little hijinks in their excursions.
He remembered when the last time they had tried employing themselves on certain jobs like housekeeping, babysitting, being temporary Officer assistants for a day, fast food chain waiters and even being nightshift Security Guards, they managed to do at least their jobs properly. Then of course, after a few days of deliberation, since strange but random circumstances that always ends in chaos and them, Tom for the most part, being fired not less than a week afterwards, so Tom, on his Pokémon's behalf, decided to withhold finding jobs for the time being, so all of them were just spending time inside the confines of Tom's humble, little home, especially the Mythical Pokémon children he had playing and hanging out together for at least more than three hours every single day, treating their very own quality time as some form of daily routine, as well as Tom's Starter Pokémon and second Pokémon-Jess and Serena respectively, are watching over the trio like the Big Sisters they were, telling them to not move far from their sights, with of course the trio complying to their Bigger Sisters with utmost glee and care, because they know that would make their Papa Tom very unnecessarily concerned for them.
It has been a while since Tom himself actually found the courage to move outside his comfort zone and start finding a way to provide some sort of financial provisions for him and his Pokémon's benefit and necessity, as he was reeeally, really getting a bit annoyed and frustrated on finding an appropriate job for him to handle for the time being, when his female Raichu, with an empathic and tired look on her face just gave Tom an article that somehow included an offer to join a Pokémon Battle contest for them to win prize money as an addition for financial expenses and essentials. This in turn got Jess a well-deserved head massage from his Papa, for encouraging her Papa to at least try to join in, and since they have nothing else to do but stay at home all the time, and they needed something to at least strive for. Coming from a Pokémon like her, Tom agreed profusely, since she knows that her fellow Pokémon siblings wouldn't hold it against him if they ever lose, at least they can still try again some other time... but they know they WILL win, or they should try to win at all, so they can at least have something to acquire for their benefit, as well as give themselves a reason to train themselves on how to fight using their basic fighting moves, since she, especially the Mythicals themselves, knowing that they cannot exactly access their respective signature moves that much anymore as an exchange for their continued freedom and solitude from the confines of their predetermined destinies themselves, since Jess knows that maybe, just maybe, that they were meant to give these things up for the stability of the world they're living in, and these powers of theirs just give them large targets on their backs, and they all wanted out as soon as possible on that. Ironically, she added, ever since that fateful day, the realization of their little Family's discovery during their not long recent adventure on the Johto Region, she herself then became a, dare she says it, part-Psychic Type. A Pokémon like her shouldn't even have the ability or even a capability to have more than a single Type classification, but now since she, as Tom also knows, that only an Alolan version of her kind has this capability and the world they're living in isn't exactly what it seems on the surface, she needed to be ready to actively lead her fellow siblings when it comes to uncovering things that seem unusually strange for even an Electric-Type Mouse like her to handle, on through the straight and narrow so they would be prepared for anything that may come their way.
Because even if they would rather choose to live in quiet, peaceful solitude and live like regular, typical Pokémon who happens to have something unique amongst them, their pasts would always chase and haunt them back even if they have moved on from them many, many times ago.
