A/N: Disclaimer! This is not the same, Will of A Champion that y'all have been reading for the past two years, and nine months. This is pretty much the director's cut of sorts for Will of a Champion birthed out the reviews that were in the original Will of A Champion as well as whatever happened in the anime since Will of a Champion was released. Because as it turns out if you start a "endgame" type of fanfiction less then midway through a generations run there will be a lot of unexpected things that get thrown at you.

Without further ado let's get the show on the road.
Chapter 0: In The Shadow of the Sword and Shield
GALAR
"Will you shape up, Eternatus! You are the future of the Galar Region!"
These were the last words the Chairman of the Galar Pokémon League, Rose, spoke before his helicopter went down during the Darkest Day. All his hopes and aspirations went down with the helicopter. Perhaps this was just fate cruelly stealing from him once again. His vision for a cleaner Galar. A Galar where no child has to see their father, who works tirelessly with no end, die in front of their eyes.
What's worse was that not even the Unbeatable Champion was the one to heed Eternatus, it was two teenagers from the Kanto Region of all things. These two teenagers were the ones who reawaken the Legendary Heroes from long ago.
These were the last thoughts of Chairmen Rose before he lost consciousness.
Many thought he had died, and to their credit not many people are known to have survived a helicopter crash. Not to mention that the crash was caused by a Pokémon who was due to power Galar for all of eternity, but if there was anything Chairman Rose was known for. It was his tenacity. His ability to work up from a poor orphan boy to one of the richest and powerful men in the world.
Sharp pain was all that Chairman Rose could feel when he regained consciousness. It was a miracle that he was alive, though it was not without consequence. Most of his body was broken after all, but the most important thing is that he is still alive. It was obvious that no one else in Galar has the will to bring an end to this cycle of madness.
Now the real question is how in the world is he going to accomplish that. Chairman Rose was pretty sure that his faithful assistant, Oleana, is dead, and he is almost certain that a lot of Galar hates him right now.
"OUUUUCCH!" Chairman Rose barked feeling the pain that is enveloping him. In his pain he thought that he saw something or someone.
"Persian!" The thing yelled as something more like someone approached.
"I see you found him," A voice that sounded a little menacing said as he came into view. He was wearing a black suit with an orange tie. A little "R" symbol was sewed onto his black suit. A menacing figure that looked Kantonian in nature complete with a tuff of widow's peak black hair.
"Who…who are you?" Chairman Rose coughed up, as the mysterious man walked up to him.
"You may call me, Giovanni, Chairman," the man calmly said.
"Ho-how do you know my name?" Chairman Rose asked as his consciousness started to fade.
"Well, it's simple, I have my eye on you, Rose," Giovanni stated just as Rose completely lost his conscious, "Matori get me the stretcher, we have one down!"
While the initial mission to get Eternatus might have fell, Team Rocket did not leave Galar empty handed. They were able to get the man funding the Eternatus project. Though at the cost of losing Eternatus himself. There was absolutely no purpose in leaving Chairman Rose alive expect his charisma. The charisma that allowed him to nearly take over an entire region, and the charisma that left him in charge of one of the most powerful companies on the planet, Marcos Cosmos. Marcos Cosmos' research on Galar Particles could prove useful to the project.
"Uhh, where am I?" Chairman Rose said as he recovered consciousness in a lab.
"Quick call Giovanni! Tell him he has awoken," one of the scientists said, as another one grabbed a pager.
"What's going on!?" Chairman Rose yelled in a panic, desperately trying to fight his way out of the bonds that secured him. Though his overall plump and tired body prevented him from doing so.
"All will be explained in a few short minutes," the scientist said. With little choice, Chairman Rose remained confined to his bed. After a few short minutes, a man arrived.
"We meet again, Chairman Rose," Giovanni said as he walked into the laboratory.
"Are you the guy I saw before I passed out?" Chairman Rose asked.
"Indeed, I am, it is I Giovanni."
"I thank you for saving me," Rose said out of gratitude.
"You are welcome, but that is not the reason why I have come to speak with you, today."
"Then what is the reason that you have come to talk, Giovanni?"
"Its obvious a man like you weren't in a helicopter crash for no reason."
"Yes, but what does this have to do with anything?" Chairman Rose wondered.
"Have you run into a boy and his Pikachu that kind of looks like this," Giovanni said to Rose as he pulled up a picture of a trainer with Corviknight-black hair with a Pikachu perched on his shoulder.
"Ash Ketchum!?" Chairman Rose responded in haste.
"Indeed, was he part of the reason why you were in that nasty little accident?" Giovanni asked.
"He and his friend were battling against something, and a stray attack hit my helicopter," Chairman Rose calmly said. He wanted to say more of the subject, but he has no idea where Giovanni's intentions lay.
"A stray attack by a Pokémon known as Eternatus," Giovanni added.
"How do you know about Eternatus?" Chairman Rose asked in shock, as that was a top-secret experiment. From the way Giovanni was talking it appears like he knows all about what Chairman Rose did. So, what is the point in letting the can of worms stay in.
"I have my sources," Giovanni smirked knowing that the Team Rocket Trio's escapades somehow expanded Team Rocket's influence across the wide world. He may have detested about how incompetent the Team Rocket Trio are, but they have provided results.
"Then you would know why Eternatus was unleashed upon this world," Chairman Rose said trying to get a grasp of what Giovanni knows.
"Eternatus was to be an energy source for you, Galarians," Giovanni said playing along with Rose's current state of knowledge.
"You would be correct, and Galar would be saved of its power crisis now if it weren't for the Unbeatable Champion and these meddling kids," Chairman Rose spat with disgust. To Rose it was like a betrayal. To think that he spent nearly ten years grooming a child to become the only trainer able to qualm Eternatus. Only for that kid to not only ditch him at the last moment but fail in stopping Eternatus. Then two kids from Kanto show up and finish the job. That was the ultimate salt in the wound for Rose.
"Don't feel bad, Rose, for you are not the only person with noble ambitions to be bested by Ash Ketchum," Giovanni calmly stated, "for I too have been crossed by him."
"You have?"
"When I tried to use the Unovnan Forces of Nature to control the weather of the world. His Pikachu sent a large Electro Ball straight into my face. Do you know how people's lives are put in danger whenever tornadoes, hurricanes, or landslides are left unchecked?" All of these natural disasters, especially the part about landslides really stroke a chord with Chairman Rose. There was all of this future pain and suffering that could have been avoided yet some kid from the boonies put a stop to that. A kid who knows nothing about how the world works, and yet he succeeds in putting the world back.
"I see, you said others have been crossed by him as well?" Chairman Rose asked.
"Yes, a man who tried to expand the landmass for people, and a man who tried to expand the sea for the Pokémon. As well as a man who tried to rid the universe of problems using the Sinnoh Legendary Pokémon, and a man trying to end Pokémon cruelty in Unova, not to mention a man who tried to create peace within the world. That man paid the ultimate price for his actions," Giovanni explained to Rose, "Its chilling to know that this was all done by an adolescent."
"It is," Rose said reevaluating his encounter with Ash Ketchum. That kid has done more than he could ever think of, and you wouldn't be able to tell from that attitude he puts on. Its scary to think about how one little kid could kill a man. Rose was counting his lucky stars that he didn't meet the same fate as that last man. Though Giovanni seems like he is doing well all things considered.
"Now I have a proposal for you, Chairman Rose. I have assembled the surviving three people, in the hopes that if we band together. We can stop Ash Ketchum once and for all," Giovanni said rather convincingly.
"That is a rather good offer you have on the table, Giovanni, but how do we suppose we don't lose to Ketchum again?" Chairman Rose asked.
"I hoping you would ask that," Giovanni said as he tapped on his pager, "Bring down the prototype ball."
"Prototype Ball?"
"You will see in a second," Giovanni smirked as sure enough a man with teal hair and purple eyes came down with what appears to be a translucent Pokéball. Chairman Rose was puzzled about how a translucent Pokéball was supposed to do anything about killing Ash Ketchum. Then Giovanni clutched the Pokéball and tossed it up in the air. In Chairman Rose's shock inside the Pokéball was the Pokémon known to travel through time, Celebi.
"Celebi?" Rose said in astonishment as he gazed upon the Time Travel Pokémon.
"Do not let your eyes fool you, Chairman Rose," Giovanni said catching Chairman Rose's attention, "This is not a real Celebi."
"What do you mean by its not a real Celebi?"
"It is much better than a real Celebi in every respect, for this is a Mirage Celebi!" Giovanni proclaimed.
"Mirage Celebi?"
"Yes, a Mirage Celebi. It is one of the many Mirage Pokémon created by my associate, Doctor Yung. I'll allow him to explain."
"Thank you, Giovanni. Now Chairman Rose, you might be confused as to what a Mirage Pokémon is. Essentially it is a digitized Pokémon that can be customized in anyway imaginable," the teal haired man explained, "Though its only limitation is the range of the digital sensor that projects the Mirage Pokémon. It used to much bigger than the scope of this room, but a certain boy and his Pikachu, and an imperfect Mirage Mew destroyed it."
"Ok, I am a little more convinced," Chairman Rose said, "I can see the many ways this can benefit society." Though it was clear on the look of Doctor Yung's face that none of it really mattered to him at all. This kind of caused a red flag for Chairman Rose, but it was a minor red flag if anything.
"So, are you willing to put together our resources for a better future?" Giovanni asked.
"I am, for the future of Galar, and for the world," Chairman Rose responded as he went and shook his hand.
"Then I welcome you and Marcos Cosmos, to Team Rainbow Rocket."
WYNDON, GALAR
The day is here. The day that has been approaching since the very beginning. Since the day he dragged his starter Pokémon out in the fields of Route One, and where they became the best of friends after a near death experience involving a flock of Spearows. Many friends have come and gone, and the many failures it took to get to this point.
He knows that his opponent is no joke. He absolutely destroyed everyone who has come across him in the finals, but that is what makes sometimes makes the opponent even more exhilarating to fight against. He is sure that many people would call him crazy for using a Pokémon that has barely been whole for six months, but that is just people who just don't know the amount of effort and training that has been put in. They don't know that Sir'fetch'd was able to defeat a Legendary Pokémon of another world.
Before he leaves the inn, he grabs three important items. Item one, the Dynamax Band, Leon gave him a little under a year ago. Item two, a Mega Glove he should've probably gotten during his adventure through Kalos. Finally, his most important item, the Z-Power Ring he originally got from Tapu Koko when he first arrived in Alola. A representation of the people he represents in the Master's 8 Tournament. A people for who he is a Champion for, and one who is well respected too.
Though he just is not representing the Alolan people in the Master's 8 Tournament, he is representing all those who believes in his dreams. His Pokémon, his mother, and all those who guided him from a jerk with a heart of gold to a boy with a heart of gold. One of the only regrets he had about the whole World Coronation Series was that he was unable to use all of his Pokémon. Though he knows that his Pokémon would not want their trainer sulking around the fact that he didn't use them.
"It's been forever since it was like this Pikachu," Ash Ketchum said as Pikachu hopped on his shoulder.
"Pika Pikapi," Pikachu responded.
"Its just going to be us against everyone out there. With Goh gone, I don't think anyone is going to cheer us on from the stands, but just know that everyone at home is counting on us," Ash smiled as he opened the door to his inn room, "Let's go, Pikachu!"
"Pikachu!" Pikachu exclaimed as both trainer and Pokémon exited the inn they were staying at and ventured forth towards Wyndon Stadium. Blissfully unaware of the dangers that lay ahead. Dangers that will shake this world, and its inhabitants down.

A/N: So your probably wondering, hey SonicKing42. I thought you said that you would try to wrap up Will of a Champion? Well my friend, I still have the intent to see Will of a Champion (The original) to its completion, it will just have heavily sporadic updates. Well I guess it always have had heavily sporadic updates. As for the other two ongoing fanfictions, I still have Unbound in the back of my head, but Online is stuck in stalemate for reasons. If everything goes right for me then we should be able to get Unbound in its regular series run by the end of the year, and I'll have a poll regrading what I should do with Online.
A/N(2): Now I should probably offer an explanation. I am a freshman in college now, an engineering student at one of the top engineering schools in the United States. Needless to say I have been navigating it, and trying to get into a constant rhythm. I'll do my best to upload content on here, but I've never do well in regrades to regular fanfictions. Honestly I have to thank all of you loyal readers who stuck through thin and wear especially whenever I go radio slient. That is the reason why I keep writing.
Till next time! Thanks and gig'em
