Just an idea I got a while back, I hope you like. This takes place before Amy and Sheldon is a real couple so fourth season.

Sheldon will be a bit OOC.

Chapter 1

Sheldon Lee Cooper looked at the clock and a small smile appeared on his lips, it was Sunday and soon would it be time for his weekly call "home".

The tall skinny man got up from his spot on the sofa.

"Leonard," he said to his roommate "I will be calling home now, please try to keep the noise to a minimum."

And before his curly haired roommate could response so was he gone with long strides to his bedroom, the last thing he heard was Penny asking if he really called home every Sunday but he didn't hear what his friends said as he had arrived to his room and closed the door.

With a deep sigh Sheldon relaxed and sat down on his bed and open up his laptop and click the same icon he always clicked every week, a screen popped up it was first black but soon a woman's face could be seen in the screen.

"Hello Shelly," the woman said smiling her grey blue eyes sparkling

"Hello Tea," Sheldon said back smiling and let his fingers run through his hair messing it up a bit "And don't call me Shelly."

"And don't call me Tea," the woman answered with a mock glare before she smiled again "I have missed you."

Sheldon told her that he missed her too, he followed that with asking if she know when they could meet up again.

Mattea as the woman was called smile grow even bigger.

"As it happened I do know that," She said "In a week's time, I have an invitation to do a lecture at California History University so I will be staying in a hotel there for about a week maybe longer."

Sheldon grin big.

"I will tell my friends that I have to go home for the week," he said grinning like a Cheshire cat "My mom is sick or something like that. What hotel?"

"The Golden sunrise hotel," Mattea said "So how is everything with you? Still keeping up?"

Sheldon made a face.

"I will get them back you know," he said "But things here are the same as before, Amy is still hounding me about being together, I have told her that she is a friend that happened to be a girl, but she don't seem to get it. I wish I could be myself."

"I know," Mattea said "But you know why, and I will be there soon and you can be the real you with me."

"Why did they come up with this stupid idea?" Sheldon moaned a bit "It was a joke nothing more."

Mattea laughed and pointed out that it had been his idea of a joke to try and now he had live with it and that it could be worse, he agreed that it could but he still didn't like it.

The two continued to talk about everything and nothing for a while until the hour and a half was over and they had to say good bye until next week.

The video call ended and Sheldon sat up a bit straighter and with a comb he had in his bedside table he combed his hair back to how it had always been.

He took a deep breath and open the door and returned to his friends as if nothing had happened.

"How was your mother?" Penny asked

"She was not feeling too good," Sheldon said "but it is most likely just a cold nothing to worry about."

He sat down in his spot and when he was sure no one was watching him he looked around the people he thought of as his friends and for a brief moment he wonder if they would still have been his friends if they know the truth. But he shook off that thought and went back to eating the food that was placed before him as it was Sunday it was also Italian but not pizza day, so he had his usual Pasta carbonara with diced pancetta and extra cheese.

"So Sheldon are you taking Amy out on a date soon?" Leonard asked with a teasing grin

Sheldon groaned inside his head.

"Amy and I is not dating," he said shortly "So no I will not take her out on a date. And now I would like to watch the Batman movie so shush."

The others did quiet down a bit and got back to watch the batman movie that they had decided to watch.

The movie ended and Howard and Raj made their goodbyes as they had work tomorrow well they all did, and soon it was just Penny. Leonard and Sheldon left in apartment 4A watching rerun of star trek trying to get Penny to understand the series that the two nerd liked so much.

A low buzzing sound could be heard and Sheldon felt his phone vibrate he pulled it out of his pocket and looked and saw that it was a text from Mattea.

I just wanted to show you something :P.

Attached to the text was a picture, which Sheldon decide to look at later when he was alone.

"Who was that from?" Penny ask as she had seen Sheldon looking at his phone

"Just my mom wanting to say good night," he said

"That is nice of her," Penny said before she yawn so big her jaw felt like it would break "Well I think it is bed time for me now, good night boys."

The two nerds said their good night to their female friend as she left and both decide to retreat to bed too.

When Sheldon was sure that he was alone he open the picture that Mattea had send him and smiled at it.

It showed her sitting in the flat she had in London with her two giant cats in her lap grinning wearing one of his Flash shirts he had left there last time he was in London.

He longed for the week to be over.

Sheldon changed to his nightclothes and got into bed and was soon fast asleep with a smile on his lips.

So that was the first chapter I hope you like it.
