Chapter 1:
The Terrible Task
First, Koinosuke Haruka would like to say something. Here she is:
"I refuse to play a part in this! I refuse to get together with that Seta Soujiro clown! He just gives me the creeps! I hate him! Actually, the only man that I love is Himura Ojisama, however, he has Kaoro dono! I want him to be happy, even if it's not with me! Back to Soujiro, I hate him and will never agree to this experiment!"

"Himura Ojisama! Where are we going, please?" Haruka asked Kenshin desperately, as he drug her by her arm across the front of the yard. When they reached the wall, he stopped.
"Koinosuke Hakura," He began, sternly, "You have embarrassed me beyond measure. Beyond what even I, as a swordsman, can tolerate. That outburst of yours was unacceptable. You will go and apologize to that kind young man, and then I must send you out on your own, until you can learn to tolerate other human beings, like a civilized person."
Haruka stared at him in horror, tears on the brim of her eyes. She could feel the heart shatter and her stomach fall into a bottomless pit. She gasped a few times, trying to find the words, but they wouldn't come. Instead, a sob broke through and her knees gave out. She just stared at her beloved Kenshin in shock. Never before had he even frowned at her, and now he was telling her to leave, practically telling her that he hated her? She couldn't bear it.
Kenshin's eyes softened, as he saw her look of terror, and he kneeled down by her, "Haruka dono, please understand that I want only what is best for you. If you learn how to treat people kindly, you will became a better person and others will learn to respect you, gozaru."
Haruka closed her eyes tightly for a moment, gathering herself. Of course, he wanted what was best for her. What he thought was best, at least. She could do what he told her to, as always. She stood shakily and firmly walked into the Kamiya Kasshin Dojo. The young man that she had offended and hurt was sitting on the floor, with Kaoru trying to calm him down while she disinfected the wounds that Haruka had left. When he saw her, he jumped to his feet, knocking Kaoru away.
"Freak! Only a creep like you would turn down a guy in such a violent way! All I wanted was a date!" He shouted at her angrily. Haruka did all she could to keep her temper from raging out of control again. She fell to her knees and planted her face on the ground. She could hardly stand it, but it was what Himura had asked her to do.
"I apologize for my actions and words that hurt and offended you, kind sir." She choked out the words as though they were vomit.
"That is much better. However, because you were so foul to me earlier, I think that I deserve more than that. At the very least, let me watch you take a bath…"He couldn't finish his sentence, because Haruka had had enough and tossed the small shrine on his head, knocking him unconscious.
Haruka paused at the door, "I'm getting my stuff and leaving, Kaoru dono. Please tell everyone goodbye for me."
