He layed on the ground helpless and almost unconscious. His left leg was now severly bleeding. Nobody was in a close enough range to notice that he was laying there. He tried to yell for help but it was no use. He was too weak. In a desperate attempt he tried to reach for his gun so he could shoot it as a flare however his gun was nowhere to be found. The attacked must have taken to gun wit him when he fled the sight. It was only a matter of minutes until he was no longer conscious.
