Jonas smiled happily, hugging Gabriel closer. He was staring at a house,
quite old and looking like a shack. But it was inside the house, as he
looked through the window, that made him gasp in surprise. They were
happy, beyond a doubt, laughing, sing, dancing merrily around the room.
They didn't seem to have much money, but instead delighted in the company
of each other. All that mattered now, after he'd been through so much was
that they were happy. His family was happy. He saw his sister, Lily, stop
dancing as the music that wafted outside slowly ended. She went over to
pour a glass of punch for herself, when suddenly she stopped and looked
outside.
Her heart started pounding, it was her brother, her big brother,
Jonas. And although Lily knew in her head that he was long since either
dead, or gone to elsewhere, her heart told her it was him. Running outside
she embraced him noticing the child wrapped up in his arm. "Gabriele," she
squealed in delight, knowing without a doubt it was him, even with his head
turned the other way.
She led them inside, practically racing to find mom and dad. And
Fiona, her older best friend, she knew she'd be happy to see him too. She
could feel that in her heart as well.
