The Ring of Power

Synopsis One - The Hobbit

Brought upon this world by the deity of time,

Succumbed to the factual knowledge of darkness.

The symbolical truth of the light's path,

Was woven by the steps of distress.

Hope remained in the hearts of the thankful,

But greed disguised their thoughts of reform.

Locked into power they remained endlessly,

Corruption grew into a chaotic storm.

Grains of sand formed pillars of lies,

Those praising others were now being praised.

Hours of age extended to decades,

Up from the earth the shadows were raised.

Living for years longer than possible,

The bands of power wrapped around their cold hearts.

The rulers of man were overpowered by one,

That had more knowledge of their own arts.

Willed by the one that was able to destroy,

That one wielded by the darkest of many.

A war was battled though the end was doomed,

A blade of truth cut down the ring of inequity.

Instead of casting the band into the fires of hell,

It was kept by the one that was easily deceived.

A death was mourned on a day of sorrow,

And into the waters the one ring perceived.

Found by a friend of another that was inept,

It was taken from its grave of hidden debt.

Another was killed for it was willed by the ring,

That inside the mist it should be kept.

A creature of wrath and misunderstanding saw it,

And by that one it was loved and at the same time hated.

Until that day when it was lost then found,

A day of the rising of the shadow from which it was created.

Riddles of time then a question to be answered,

It was won for the creature was unaware of the unknown.

Inside the pocket it lingered and waited,

Cast into one that was uncalled for and alone.
