Wishes Don't Come True Chapter 1: The meeting This is my first fanfic! So don't flame me too much... ::sniff sniff:: Disclaimer: I own none of the Inuyasha chars that I am using. Why!? Why, cruel world?! ::coughs:: Sorry.

~Wishes don't come true. No, the childhood fantasy that made us believe that we could wish for anything is false. Or rather, that we could wish for something to go away is false. That is what this story is about.~

The leaves crackled under Kagome's poorly treated tennis shoes as she marched, determined to find her way through the forest. Why did she have to chase after that dumb rabbit? It was just a rabbit. Nothing special. Then why did it make her want to chase it or follow it or care for it?

Shaking her head, Kagome closed her eyes. "Think, Kagome!" But, nothing came to her and she marched on.

Unfortunately, she forgot to open her eyes and rammed into a large tree. Kagome fell backwards onto the muddy ground. She didn't get up either.

In what seemed like days, but were most likely minutes, Kagome opened her eyes. And screamed. Standing above her was a young man, about the same age as her. "Shut up, will you?" the man, no, more like boy, yelled. "You don't have to scream!"

"Oh, I'm sorry! I.I just thought you were a monster."

The boy glared at her. "Do I look like a monster?"

"Not really."

"Thank you for confirming that."

"Um..my name's Kagome."

"It's nice to meet you, Kagome." Sarcasm was practically smothering that sentence.

Kagome, without the help of the boy, who didn't even extend his hand, stood up. Even though her head felt light, she didn't seem to be hurt. The fifteen-year-old finally got a good look at the boy opposite her.

His hair was white. That startled her. He probably died it though. And his eyes, they were yellow. Contacts? He sure did look funny. But, Kagome didn't laugh; she didn't want to be rude, after screaming at him. At that time, the boy caught her staring at him. "What the hell are you looking at?"

Well, he sure was rude! "Nothing! But, you could be nicer!" He could at least tell her his name. "And what would your name be?"

"Why do you care?"

Kagome felt like shouting, but kept her voice down. She didn't even know him! "I just want to know."

"Fine! It's Inu-yasha."

"Inu-yasha? Dog-demon?" Kagome couldn't help it. She burst out laughing.

"What's so funny?"

"Nothing, Inu-yasha. I'm sorry." What kind of parents did he have? Kagome felt even sorry for him.

"Are you lost? My family lives over there and you could use our phone." Inu- yasha was being nice, and Kagome appreciated it deeply. She smiled at him and nodded. So, maybe Inu-yasha had a kind side.

"Don't get use to this. Don't you dare count on me again. That's if we meet after this!"

Or maybe he could stay his same-mean self. Kagome didn't mind, as long as she got to get out of that place.

So, maybe it's not the best story. But, it's a start! I'll try to write longer chapters, I promise! ::nods:: Review please! Don't flame, though. Remember, I'm not to good at this.
