A Day In Anime

Ichigo Michi rolled over and slapped her alarm clock to the floor. It popped open, the gears flying out. "Shimmata!"

"Michi? Is something wrong?"

"No, mom!" She got up and went to her closet. "Stupid piece of junk alarm clock. Where's that purple one?" Michi opened her bottem drawer, searched through the many different colored clocks, and pulled out a purple one. Then she got dressed and ran downstairs as fast as she could.

"BIIIII-YYYYEEEE!!!!!" Her voice evaperated as she ran down the street, multiple homework papers flying out behind her.

"Today, class, we're having a test."

"Again, Takeuchi-sensei?"

"As much as I hate to use my own work as an example, we are going to watch the first episode of Sailor Moon and notice the techniques that the artists used in the animation."

Michi leaned back and sighed. **I love this class,** she thought. **I can catch up on all that sleep I missed this morning.** Ms. Takeuchi turned off the lights and started up the dvd player. Michi set her head down on the desk and watched as the colors on the screen blended in a rainbow. The Japanese voices mixed into nothing more than a background music as the floor started to tip forward...

Michi's head snapped up. Her desk began to slide along the floor, the t.v. screen to grow larger, waiting to swallow her up. She gulped and looked around. "Help! Someone..." None of her classmates seemed to notice that their study subject had turned into a black hole. "HELP!!"

She felt the front legs of the desk drop from the floor and screamed.

When she opened her eyes she was standing on a street corner in front of an arcade. People were walking and driving by, totally too absorbed in their own business to notice the middle-schooler who had just appeared in their midst.

Michi looked up and down the street. It wasn't one she recognized. It barely looked real. **What's going on? What am I, in the cartoon?** The buildings even seemed to be lacking detail. Some of the signs on doors down the street didn't look like more than large bars instead of words.

Michi turned to face the shop behind her, the Crown Arcade, and decided that if anyone noticed she had disappeared from the classroom, Takeuchi- sensei would do something about it. She entered the building.
