Traitor

A Dragonball Z Parallel To and Continuation of Traitor, by Matthew Stover

This work of fanfiction gained inspiration from the excellent Star Wars: the New Jedi Order book by Matthew Stover; it is not meant to portray any real events or people, and any such similarity is entirely coincidental. It will chronicle the separate and group journeys through the Otherworld by: Son Gohan; Son Goku; Vegeta, Prince of All Saiyans; Son Goten; and Trunks Briefs - that is, if I carry on with it. This is a sample of the writing style I'll be using; tell me what you think, and what you like. If you really have to, tell me what you dislike - I might just change it! This fic will definitely be dark, may be PG-13½ at times, but should end happily. Unless Frieza destroys all.

*Note*: I actually started this before I even thought of making a humor fic, but I set this aside to build up; I didn't feel up to writing a colossal fic like this.

Vegeta's voice, uncharacteristically soft, was hurled at him from the darkness. "Nappa, you fool. Speak of yourself in the past tense. You have no more time left for life; all the rest will be in death, thinking on where you could have done differently, and changed."

"Nobody's perfect," Nappa pleaded.

Vegeta shook his head. "No. No, my old partner, I can't do that. We could have done wonders, wreaked miracles, and brought about a new age. Or we could have lived simply, or died at the hands of Frieza, giving life to many more by refusing to kill. Ironically, you could have seen it, given time. But you refused to see then, could you? I ended your life then, Nappa. The -"

"You were wrong then too! So what right do you have to judge me?" Nappa was sinking further into his own trap, meshing his destiny with some he loved, and far more he hated, and still more he had never known (most of which he would have hated, just on general principle), by resorting to desperate accusations, which Vegeta regarded with contempt.
