Title: All I want is the World
Author: Autumn
Archive: DDFH, API * soon*
Summary: Erik writes a letter to Santa.
Series: The DDFH Letters to Santa RR **********
To whom it may concern:
I realize that most of your mail probably begins with Dear Santa. I however will refrain from that, as we certainly are not such casual terms as to bestow pet names such as dear. I have never written to you. I was denied a proper childhood by the likes of humans. One man's crusade to rid the world of the unfit killed the innocence and carefree behaviors of the boy I was. I put away childish things decades ago.
I am not writing to you to make up with the past, one never can. I ask for only a few things in this life. Things that have been denied to all children who were born like me, and unfortunately know the hate and intolerance that should have been eradicated by now. I implore you, the man who is the most powerful this time of year to deliver what I have not been able to.
My request is that you turn all humans into mutants. There is a very good reason for this. Of course, it will require certain sacrifices on the part of your reindeer, but it will be worth it. An all-mutant society will be most beneficial in the long run. There will be no sickness, no famine, and no war. I would of course be there to lead everybody through the new life- change if you grant my second request. Get me out of here. I was trying to benefit society; I do not believe I belong in this gerbil cage like the common criminal.
Back to the reindeer. If I can just borrow the deer you call Rudolf, for a few weeks-I assure you that he will return you in one piece, two at the most. His genetic makeup is the catalyst I need to complete my life's work.
My final request for my self is the girl known as Rogue. Her mind and mine are not so different. She would be an excellent addition to my team. As an added bonus, that hairy fellow would most likely join, and the more people on my side, the stronger we will be when the war comes.
I would also like to make a few requests for the people in my life.
For Floyd, the morning shift guard. The man needs someone in his life; it would make his disposition change for the better. Please send him a little grey kitten.
For Mystique, my faithful colleague: A copy of 'The Invisible Man.'
For Victor: A complete set of the WWF's Slamfest 2002
For Charles: A copy of Edgar Allen Poe's complete works, his optimism is disturbing.
That is all; I await your reply eagerly.
Sincerely, Erik Lensher
