I've been through my whole life

Like mine was the only life in the world

Yes, I pretended to be compassionate

I sent a few meagre coins to the third world

What did it mean?

I never even thought

We never think about the universe

How big is it?

Is it bigger than God?

It is infinite

It has no boundaries

Our world is a tiny blob, barely visible

Think, then, how much smaller our whole lives are

And us? We don't even fit into the picture

We're so miniscule

Worthy of nothing

But God reached down to us

In His whole being he should not have cared

Yet his eyes sought us, his lost sheep

And with compassion, he became one of us

He was one of us

He knew our sufferings

And he gave himself on a cross

So that we might seek refuge in him

And be with him forever

Did we deserve it?

No, we didn't and we don't now

We never will

That is my proof of God

My one true father

My leader

My compassion

My strength

My only refuge

When I think of my worthlessness
