Oh, I do not own Neopets, of course. :) Written by divinity_star ...

Whenever Togepriii sees her cherished Raindear the Alkenore, she feels the urge to hug it and whisper a sincere "thank you" to it. This is the story of how a friendship was found between a Baby Aisha, and a alkenore.
It was a Friday.
"Mommy!" screamed Togepriii. "Where are you?"
The baby Aisha wandered along in the darkened woods, looking out for her precious family. Tears were pouring down her face. The poor creature had gotten seperated from her family during on their way to visit the faerieland.
"I never should have chased that Beekadoodle. I should have listened to Mom and stick close to her. *sighs*" Togepriii mumbled sadly to herself as she continued walking around the woods aimlessly. It was getting dark, and Togepriii can hear some howls from the nearby. She shivered.
Where should I go? What should I do? She thought to herself as she quickened her pace. She didn't want to stay in the woods at night. Mom said ugly monsters come out at night to eat lost little pets.
After a few more minutes of the meaningless exploring of the woods, Togepriii settled down under a big oak tree. "I'm so tired ... I need some sleep"
"... (nasty sneer)"
"Huh?" Togepriii opened her closed eyes immediately. A big, tough Monocerous was standing in front of her. Uh-oh. Monocerous are best known for their strength and um, eating pets.
"Food."
"Huh?"
"Food."
"Food?"
"Food!" Monocerous roared angrily, obviously frustrated at Togepriii's dumbness.
"I don't have any!"
"Then you will be my dinner!"
"No! Please, no!" Togepriii starts to wail. Monocerous started to move closer to the little wailing creature when they heard ...
"Weep!" Both stopped what they were doing - wailing, and attacking. "Weep! Eep!" They heard it again. It was louder and clearer this time.
"Who's there?" scrowled the Monocerous angrily. He does not liked to be disturbed when having his dinner.
"Weep!" A little tail appeared beside Togepriii. "Eep. Mmmmrmrrrrmrmmr. Cooooo." Then the wings, the body ... and the head.
"It's a alkenore!" Monocerous exclaimed. Obviously he never heard of any alkenore appearing in the woods before. Alkenores belong to the faerieland, and Monocerous? Well ... he belongs nowhere.
Alkenore smiles sweetly at Togepriii. Togepriii felt all her fear, insecurity and fright all dissolve away. The little yellow petpet leaped into Togepriii's lap. Togepriii raised one paw to pat it on the head.
"Prrrrrt Prrrrrrt ..."
"What do you think you're doing?" Monocerous said angrily. He doesn't like to be ignored or forgotten. In fact, he's yet another attention-seeking "thing". (Apparently the alkenore didn't even glance at him once.) Angered by the alkenore, Monocerous raised one strong foot, about the smash up the two defendless.
The alkenore quickly wiggles its ears ... and Togepriii found herself in her room again. On her bed, in fact. Still wearing her pajamas. The calender leaning against the wall read "Saturday".
"W...hat?" Togepriii stammered. What was going on? "Is this all just a ... nightmare?"
"Cooo." Apparently not. The alkenore that saved her was sleeping beside her, snoring away. "Mrrrrr."
Later that day, Togepriii borrowed a thick, heavy, dusty and ancient book from the library. All about alkenore.
"Many believed that alkenores have the ability to teleport its loved one away from danger. However, 'it's all rumour', Mr. Henry Pot the Scientist said confidently."
"So you did saved me?" Togepriii asked the alkenore which followed the baby Aisha wherever goes. And it just smiled. No one believed Togepriii's tale of how she got her adorable alkenore of course.
Except Raindear the alkenore with the ancient magic, and of course, Togepriii herself.
